He’s dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and has done great with kids, making him a wonderful addition to a family. He’s also kennel trained and ready to leave rescue life behind. A SPECIAL LITTLE GUY Figaro aka “Figgy” 4 years, neutered male, 16 lbs Shih Tzu mix LIKES: Figgy loves people, kids, cuddling, stroller rides, going places, sniffing around outside, car rides, and being included in whatever his people are doing. He absolutely LOVES his stroller and gets very excited when he sees it! He enjoys meeting new people and is a social little guy who is happiest when he gets to be part of the action. He especially loves lounging in the grass, soaking up the sunshine, and getting all the pets. DISLIKES: Figgy can be protective of high-value resources and occasionally wants to be left alone when he is tired or settling down for the night. He does best when people and dogs respect his space around things he considers especially valuable. PERSONALITY TRAITS: Figgy is a mellow, affectionate little guy with a surprisingly big zest for life. He has a history of significant orthopedic trauma, including spinal and pelvic fractures, which are now healed but have left him with some permanent mobility and neurologic deficits. None of that has stopped him from enjoying life! He loves his people and is happiest cuddled up in a lap or tagging along on an adventure. He genuinely enjoys getting out and experiencing the world, and he has a particularly joyful personality when he’s in his stroller. He seems to love seeing what his people are up to. He currently lives with four other dogs and generally coexists very well with them, though he would likely be happiest in a home with a calm, compatible dog or as the only dog, where he can soak up all the attention. He is a social, easygoing little guy who loves being part of family life. POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Due to neurologic deficits from his previous injuries, Figgy is fully incontinent for his bladder and bowels. He does not have control over when he urinates or passes stool. His care is very manageable with routine and consistency. He wears a belly band for urine when appropriate, and his foster home has established a predictable bathroom routine. A short walk after meals will often prompt him to pass his formed stool outside, although occasional accidents in the house do happen. X-PEN / CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Figgy is crate trained and generally settles easily without a fuss. He actually loves sleeping in his crate at night. When someone is home and able to keep an eye on him, Figgy has free range of the house. For his safety, he uses an x-pen when the house is especially busy or there is a lot of commotion, and when he is home alone. He is comfortable and content in his x-pen and does well with this routine. EXTRAS/MISC: Figgy can walk and enjoys short walks, but he tires more easily than a typical dog and uses a stroller for longer outings. And honestly, he thinks the stroller is pretty fantastic. He takes a daily anti-inflammatory medication. His veterinary evaluation found no significant pain beyond what would be expected from his previous injuries, and any discomfort appears to be well controlled with his daily medication. His veterinarian believes he can have many happy years ahead with appropriate care. His adoption fee is fully sponsored. We would love to add Daisy to our trip for the right family 😊 🎄 Meet Daisy — Our Little Christmas Joy 🎄 There are some dogs whose happiness you can describe, and then there are dogs you simply have to meet to understand. Daisy is the second kind. 😂🩷 Born on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025, we can’t help but think that special birthday explains a little something about her. Daisy seems to genuinely believe she was placed on this earth for one purpose: to love absolutely everyone she meets and enjoy every single second of her life while doing it. And she takes that job VERY seriously. 😂 Daisy is an almost 8-month-old purebred Shih Tzu weighing just over 9 lbs, and she is quite literally JOY in the size of a Shih Tzu. She loves women. She loves men. She loves children. She loves dogs. She loves cats. She loves going places. She loves being home. She loves attention. She loves life. Basically, if you’re breathing, Daisy has probably already decided you’re wonderful. 😂🩷 Her happiness is contagious. She walks into a room with this naturally cheerful little presence that makes it nearly impossible not to smile at her. There isn’t a complicated side to Daisy that you’re going to spend months trying to figure out. She lives life without a care in the world and seems completely convinced that every new person, animal, place, and experience has arrived solely for her enjoyment. She is affectionate without being anxious, social without being overwhelming, playful while still being perfectly happy to settle down with her people, and she has shown us no separation anxiety while in our care. She simply adjusts to whatever the day brings and continues being Daisy. And then there is the snorting. 😂 If you know and love Shih Tzus, you already know exactly what we’re talking about. That adorable little smooshed face occasionally comes with the classic Shih Tzu snorts and noises, and somehow they fit her personality perfectly. She already has enough character for three dogs, so naturally she needed her own soundtrack too. 😂 Daisy came to us because her previous owner found herself in a financial situation where she simply couldn’t continue providing Daisy with the care she deserved. Even keeping up with necessities such as regular grooming had become difficult. Daisy was loved, and ultimately that love is what led her owner to make the difficult decision to ask us for help. She knew her circumstances weren’t allowing Daisy to feel and live her best, and she wanted more for her than what she was presently able to provide. So she entrusted Daisy to us and asked us to find the family who could give this beautiful girl the life she deserves. And here we are. 🩷 For such a young girl, Daisy already has a wonderful foundation. She is house trained with a consistent routine and goes outside when asked every couple of hours throughout the day. She is crate trained and has done wonderfully with it, although we’re fairly certain she wouldn’t object if her future family decided that sleeping somewhere closer to them sounded better. 😂 She also walks wonderfully on leash, travels beautifully in the car, and is fantastic for the groomer, which is especially important for a Shih Tzu whose beautiful coat will require lifelong maintenance. Daisy has been wonderful with dogs of all sizes, cats, children, men, and women. There truly hasn’t been a category of living creature she has decided not to be friends with yet. 😂 Medically, Daisy has been thoroughly evaluated by our veterinarian. She is current on her vaccines, microchipped, and will go home with her medical records and a health certificate from our veterinarian. We also submitted a fecal sample to the laboratory, and she will be dewormed according to those results if treatment is indicated. Daisy is not yet spayed and will be adopted on a spay contract. Because she is still growing and maturing, our veterinarian would like her to reach approximately 12 months of age before being spayed so her body, joints, and growth plates are given additional time to fully mature. During her examination, our veterinarian also noted mild movement in Daisy’s knees/patellas. This is something that can be seen in small breeds such as Shih Tzus, and at this time our veterinarian is not concerned or recommending intervention. It is simply something we believe her future family should know about and continue monitoring with their veterinarian throughout her life. It is also another reason we feel allowing Daisy’s body to finish maturing before spaying is especially important. Our hope is that giving her joints and supporting structures every opportunity to mature naturally will help keep those knees from ever becoming problematic. She was born on Christmas Day, and maybe we’re a little sentimental, but there really couldn’t have been a more fitting birthday for her. Oreo is 4 years old and weighs about 14lbs. He is so playful and loves his human immensely. He likes to hug with his arms! It is so cute. He crates well and rides well in the car. He is housetrained with a doggy door. Oreo is just a dear little guy who wants a quiet home, not too busy. No kiddos for Oreo. He gets scared too easily and little children would make him scared. He would love to be your little lap dog. Oreo has resource guarding issues so only an experienced pet owner or a home as an only pet would be appropriate. Meet the Spice Girls! Their mama was taken in by a loving family shortly before they discovered she was pregnant. Her previous owners had surrendered her to the shelter, and thankfully, a wonderful family stepped up to give her a safe place to have and raise her babies. They worked hard to help Mama and her five daughters thrive while a rescue was found to help these girls find responsible, loving homes. Mama, believed to be a Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu mix, has now been spayed and is happily staying with the family who opened their hearts to her. Dad is a mystery, but based on these adorable pups, we suspect he may have had some Pug in his family tree!  At 13 weeks old, these five girls are busy, playful, curious, and absolutely adorable. We expect them to remain small, likely under 20 pounds full grown.
