Mustard is a sweet older gentleman who believes life is best enjoyed at a slower pace. This calm little guy is pretty much a professional couch potato—give him a comfy spot to curl up and he’s perfectly content! Mustard is visually impaired and needs daily eye drops for dry eye, but he gets around and enjoys life just fine. He does best with a calm routine and gentle handling, as fast movements can make him nervous. He is good with other dogs, especially when they respect his slower pace and personal space. Mustard is pee-pad trained and will also potty outside when taken out on a leash. He hasn’t quite learned how to let you know when he needs to go outside yet, so his new family will need to keep him on a consistent routine. Mustard isn’t looking for a busy, action-packed life. He’s looking for a soft couch, a peaceful home, and someone who will love and spoil him through his golden years. Hi, I’m Moe! I’m an 12-year-old Shih Tzu weighing about 10 pounds, and I’m looking for a forever home with my best buddy, Joe. We’ve been together our whole lives and are a bonded pair, so wherever I go, Joe goes too! I’m a sweet, old, gentle little guy who loves being close to my people. I’m affectionate, quiet, snuggly, and perfectly happy being a little couch potato. I've been told I am the sweeter one of the pair of us!! I also enjoy spending time outside, and judging by how excited I get when the harnesses come out, I’d probably love getting back to taking little walks with my new family. I’m housetrained but do need ready access to a backyard since I am older and need to go more frequently! I’m friendly with other dogs but I haven’t been around cats, so we’re not sure what I think of them. I ride nicely in the car and am an easygoing guy when meeting new people. I do have a heart murmur and take medication for it, but it doesn’t keep me from enjoying my everyday life. I take my medicine well, and a supply will be provided to help get my new family started. Joe and I just had dentals so we are good to go on that too!! Joe and I were very loved by our previous owner, whose declining health meant he could no longer care for us. We were used to spending lots of time with him, including winters in Arizona and summers in Oregon, so being near our person is important to us. Laramie Claudette Snack Size Socialite has a very reasonable wish list: a few cute dresses, some good snackies, and someone who understands that an afternoon outing should be followed by a substantial nap. At a whopping nine pounds, she’s barely bigger than the contents of your purse—and considerably cuter. This little lady is ready to be dressed, adored, and told she’s the cutest thing in the whole wide world. Regularly, please. She’s a great little car rider and settles comfortably in your arms when carried. A cute outfit and an outing with her favorite person are right up her alley. She has strong “let’s browse Marshalls” energy, followed by “we’ve done enough for today” energy. Both are equally charming! Her outdoor plans are just as lovely. Laramie enjoys a good roll in the grass, especially when the sun is shining. A little wiggle, a little stretch, a little sunshine on that tiny body—this girl knows how to enjoy herself without making a whole production of it. She lives happily with a variety of dogs and enjoys their companionship, though she’s quite content to leave the games to everyone else. Another easygoing dog would be welcome, but she could also happily be your one and only. What really fills her love tank is a person who will rub on her, kiss her little face, offer a snack, and help her choose her outfit for the day. Feline friends are welcome, too. Laramie lives with a cat and was very respectful when meeting our house cat. She seems to understand that when the cat is bigger than you, a little courtesy goes a long way. Laramie also has a daily eye-drop routine to keep up with. Her drops are affordable, and she’ll need someone who makes them a consistent part of her care, right alongside the meals, naps, and compliments. Meet Stevie Ray, the Well-Traveled Bluesman Looking for His Last Stop! There's a whole lot of heart packed into this little guy. Stevie is a 5-year-old shih tzu with the spirit of a pup and the devotion of an old soul: spunky, sweet, and utterly himself. He's also a bluesman who has seen some things. This little legend just wrapped up a cross-country tour, rolling out of a New Mexico shelter on a long bus ride that would make any road-weary musician grumpy. Give him a yard and watch the magic happen. Stevie turns it into his own little kingdom, nose to the ground, tail wagging, patrolling every inch like he's got very important business to attend to. Start a game of fetch and you'll fall in love with how much joy he can pack into his bouncy sprints. That said, he'd do just as well in an apartment, as long as he gets his outdoor time, whether that's a car ride, a backyard to patrol, or daily walks and trips to the park for sniffing and running. Stevie is good with other dogs, though according to his foster mom, he likes to call the shots. Every band needs a frontman, and he's happy to volunteer. His experience with children and cats is unknown, so we strongly recommend intentional, proper introductions and precautions if you have either at home. True to his shih tzu roots, Stevie carries himself with a confident, opinionated flair all a part of of his charm. Stevie appreciates a little time to get to know new people and does best when they let him come to them. He needs an experienced, patient adopter who will go slow, let him set the tempo, and respect his boundaries, especially around handling, new people, and high-stress situations. But earn his trust, and you'll find the softest heart this side of the Mississippi. With his foster mom, Stevie is pure velvet. Meet Queenie Penny Paloma Your Lap, Her Throne If you know Shih Tzus, you already know... this little lady isn’t giving her heart away to just anybody. She likes to take a minute to observe the room and make sure you pass her vibe check first. Give her a little patience, a calm voice and the freedom to come to you, and before long, she’ll be scooting closer for pets. She would absolutely love a person who works from home or has plenty of time to be her BFF. She loves attention, on her terms, of course and once you’ve earned her trust, your lap will quickly become her favorite place to be. She is calm, low energy and perfectly content with a cozy place to lounge. She doesn’t need a packed social calendar or a complicated exercise routine; she’s looking for a peaceful home where life moves at her speed. She walks beautifully on leash, travels well in the car, settles easily in her kennel and would be perfectly happy in an apartment or a house.
