Story
Diggie looks like someone shrunk Chewbacca down into an 11 lb bestie with tiny paws and a perfect button nose. Freshly groomed he is adorable, but when that scruffy grey coat grows out? Full rescue-muppet magic! Estimated to be about 4 years old, Diggie is a Shih Tzu mix with a playful side, a sensitive heart, and a very strong attachment to his people. Rescue rules apply, so breed and age are our best guess. Go watch Diggie Doodlebug on YouTube then come right back to read more about this shaggy little sweetheart. https://youtu.be/4uY3QypwIAY Diggie is currently fostered in a loving home where his foster describes him as playful, lovable, extremely smart, and full of personality once comfortable. He loves toys, enjoys digging dramatically through dog beds, and bonds deeply with his people. He especially loves kids and would truly thrive in a home with children. He also lives with cats successfully and can do well with calm, easygoing dogs after slow introductions. Once comfortable he is a bouncy, playful boy. The day we met Diggie he was in an unfamiliar environment with a heap of new people, not ideal for his sensitive nature but even while stressed he remained incredibly soft-tempered and never once reacted roughly. Once he trusts someone, though, his foster shares that he can handle a busy lifestyle and genuinely enjoys going places with her. Diggie is not currently leash trained but continues to practice with his foster, so a home with a secure yard would make life much easier for him while he continues building up his leash confidence. Crates are also stressful for him and his foster does not currently use one but shares that he is trustworthy in the home and has not been a necessity. This little guy is not an instant “life of the party” dog. He is a relationship-first dog. But for someone willing to let him settle in at his own pace, there is a really funny, loving, toy-obsessed little companion underneath that fluffy grey fur. Ready to welcome Diggie home? Story
If you've ever wanted to know what it would be like to live with a tiny retired beauty queen who still believes she's the main character, allow us to introduce you to Mopsey Topsey. This little girl is equal parts doll, comedian, socialite, and diva. One minute she's carrying around a toy like the happiest dog on earth, the next she's giving you a look that says she's not impressed with your life choices. Mopsey has enough personality packed into her 12 lb body to entertain an entire household, and honestly, we wouldn't have her any other way. Watch her video and prepare to fall in love with this tiny firecracker: https://youtu.be/AEwQxgF0MIM?si=tKzwjmK6Hz5xYds0 Mopsey Topsey is approximately 8 years old, though she may be a little older, if you ask Mopsey, however, age is nothing more than a suggestion. This girl still has plenty of pep in her step, lots of opinions, and enough spunk to keep everyone around her laughing. We believe she may be a Shih Tzu mix, but with rescue it's always a mystery and we can never guarantee breed or age. What we can guarantee is that she's absolutely adorable and looks like a little living doll. The best thing about Mopsey is hands down her personality. She is fun, lively, goofy, affectionate, and just the right amount of sassy. She has that special talent of making ordinary moments feel more entertaining simply because she's involved. Whether she's trotting around the house, carrying a toy, demanding attention, or making her opinions known, Mopsey keeps life interesting. One of the things we love most about Mopsey is that she truly embraces life. She doesn't seem to know she's considered a senior. She approaches every day with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a healthy dose of confidence. She's proof that getting older doesn't mean slowing down. It just means you've had more time to perfect your craft, and Mopsey has absolutely perfected the art of being adorable. Speaking of toys, this girl loves them. Stuffy toys are her favorite and she is more than happy entertaining herself with a toy while also making sure everyone knows how much fun she's having. She's playful, silly, and genuinely seems to enjoy life. Mopsey is crate trained, potty trained, and has already mastered the basics of home life. She's well past the puppy chaos stage but still has plenty of personality and energy left to share with her future family. Mopsey is dog friendly and has done well with dogs both her size and dogs several times larger than her. That said, Mopsey very much has her own personality and her own ideas about how social interactions should go. She may decide she wants to play one minute and then decide she's done the next. She likes being the one in charge of the social calendar and appreciates dogs that don't take life too seriously. Because of this, she'd do best with easygoing dogs that can laugh off a little diva behavior and aren't bothered by her occasionally changing her mind. She enjoys canine company but certainly doesn't need another dog in the home to be happy. Mopsey also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing her with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! We think Mopsey would thrive with someone who appreciates a dog with character. Not a robot. Not a dog that fades into the background. A dog that makes you laugh, keeps you company, and occasionally reminds everyone that she is, in fact, the queen of the household. If you're looking for a little dog with a big personality, a playful spirit, and enough charm to completely take over your heart, Mopsey might just be your girl. We are willing to test Mopsey Topsey with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Nico is an absolutely adorable 6-year-old Shih Tzu weighing about 14 pounds. With his sweet face, playful personality, and love of treats, this little guy is sure to steal your heart in no time. Nico loves snacks and enjoys spending time running around the yard with his doggy friends. Whether he's playing outside or relaxing with his people, he brings a happy energy wherever he goes. Nico has dry eye that was left untreated before coming into rescue, which unfortunately caused damage that left him blind in one eye. The condition is not bothering him now, and he gets around just fine, but his future family should be aware that surgery may be needed down the road. Despite this setback, Nico doesn't let it affect his outlook on life and continues to enjoy every day to the fullest. This handsome boy is crate trained and is doing very well with his house training. He's also working on his leash skills and will continue to benefit from patience and encouragement as he learns. Nico is looking for a loving family that will appreciate his sweet nature, playful spirit, and resilient heart. If you're searching for a charming companion who loves treats, enjoys canine friends, and has plenty of love to give, Nico may be the perfect addition to your family. Choo Choo is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu weighing about 14 pounds, and this adorable little guy is full of personality, charm, and happiness. His goofy personality keeps everyone entertained, and he loves spending time running around and playing with his doggy friends. Whether he's zooming around the yard or just hanging out with his people, Choo Choo knows how to make every day a little brighter. Choo Choo is considered special needs because he was born with a club foot, but he doesn't let that slow him down one bit. He keeps up just fine with his friends and approaches life with enthusiasm and confidence. He also has chronic ear infections, according to his veterinarian, so his future family will need to stay on top of his ear care to help keep him comfortable and healthy. This sweet boy is crate trained and is doing very well with his house training. He's also learning how to walk on a leash and continues to improve with practice and patience. Choo Choo is looking for a family that will appreciate his fun-loving spirit, unique charm, and endless affection. **Please note this pet is currently an out of town pet but we will transport this pet to you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Hopper! Hopper is a 4-year-old Shih Tzu weighing about 13 pounds, and this resilient little guy is proof that a few obstacles can't keep a good dog down. Despite facing some challenges, Hopper approaches life with a happy heart, a wagging tail, and a determination that will inspire everyone he meets. Hopper is considered special needs due to severe dry eye that went untreated before he came into rescue. Unfortunately, the condition caused scarring that left him mostly blind. He also received much-needed dental care after arriving, and several teeth had to be removed. Thanks to that care, he's feeling much better and ready to find his forever family. While Hopper can't see very well, he doesn't let that stop him from enjoying life. Sure, he might occasionally bonk his head on a low-hanging object or get a little too confident and run into a wall, but he simply keeps right on going! His cheerful attitude and determination are truly heartwarming, and he always seems to find a way to put a smile on everyone's face. Hopper absolutely loves treats and gets excited whenever snack time rolls around. His joyful personality shines through in everything he does, and he is always ready to share his love and happiness with those around him. He is crate trained and is making great progress with his house training. Hopper is also working on his leash skills and will continue to benefit from patience and encouragement as he learns to navigate the world with limited vision. Hopper is a sweet, lovable little dog who doesn't focus on what he can't do—he focuses on enjoying every day to the fullest.
