Story
Hi, I'm Daisy! I am a 7 year old Female Shih Tzu. I came to Zoe's House from a commercial breeder where I was bred to make puppies. This was my whole life so I was a little nervous being in a house and with people. I have come to enjoy being petted and will seek this out sometimes. I know my name and will respond when called. Also I respond to finger clicks and a gesture such as when it is time to go in my crate to eat or to go outside. I'm a smart girl just a bit shy at first. I don't really play much. I never got to learn to. I really like other dogs and will cuddle with them if they are calm like me. I am up to date on vaccines and spayed already. I am still working on housebreaking but have made really good progress in this area. I don't like using my crate to potty in. I will do business outside if I'm taken out regularly. I require a home with another calm dog please. I was around kids and am good with them if they know to respect my space and don't pester me all of the time. Kids 5 and up would probably be best. While a fence is not required I really love the free space to run. I just need a secure way to keep me safe when I'm outside. No running loose for me please. I've come too far to be hurt or lost! I'm being fostered in Schuylkill County so any potential adopters will have to travel to meet him. If you believe that Daisy is a good fit for you, please apply at https://www.zoeshouserescue.com/adopt. Zoe's House Kennel #9117 Sinking Spring, PA 19608

"Hello! Pleased to meet you! My name is Austin, and I am a simple man - food, people, naps, you know, the good stuff! I'm easy to please and I like everyone. I am loving life in my foster home and I will fit into most any forever home. I'm calm and collected, and my foster mom says I am a little gentleman. I like other dogs just fine and I'm cool with the cats too. Nothing really bothers me! I do have a bit of a sensitive tummy though - so no cheat days on my diet. I am doing well on my food now that I'm used to it and even put on a few much needed pounds since I came to the rescue! I'm still a little guy though, weighing in at 14 pounds. I am very patient and gentle, but I'm a little timid at first. It took me a few days to warm up to my foster mom, and now she is my BFF! I like to wander in the yard but I don't have a good sense of direction, so I will need to be leash walked or have a fenced yard. Either is fine with me! I am almost house broken, but you'll need to give me frequent potty breaks so I don't have accidents. My foster mom says that accidents are normal in a new environment. I am very clean in my crate - no accidents, even overnight. I am quiet when my foster mom goes out and I nap in my crate until she gets back. It is my safe space and I really like my bed in there. Would you like to meet me? I am neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and I have been monthly preventatives for fleas and ticks. I'm being fostered in southern Lancaster county, and interested folks will need to come to my foster home to meet me. Please plan on bringing the whole family and any existing dogs in the home so we can make sure its a good match. PS: I just got a short summer haircut. My hair was not well kept before I came to Zoe's, and I needed to start fresh. I feel great now, I like being clean and spiffy! I am very compliant and easy to groom too!" Ready to meet Austin? Go online to www.zoeshouserescue.com and complete an adoption application! We do not always receive applications submitted through adoptapet or petfinder. Story
Meet Banjo Banjo is a sweet dog who is about 2.6 years old and weighs 13 pounds. We rescued him from a shelter near the border of Mexico. He is an adorable, social, happy, fun and playful dog that loves getting affection. He doesn't know a stranger and loves attention. He also has the best underbite!! Banjo being part Shih Tzu, is intelligent, affectionate, and outgoing but he can be independent and sometimes stubborn! Typical qualities of this wonderful breed! Banjo would do best with older children, that understand the Shih Tzu personality, and understand their boundaries! He gets along well with the other dogs at the rescue and just wants a forever family to call his own! Banjo is located in at our rescue in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to Gettysburg, PA on August 10th. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $400. The fee includes the transport cost. If you would like to add this scruffy cutie to your family, please review our process and complete an application here - https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Services our dogs receive prior to adoption: Chagas Testing Heartworm and Tick Testing (age appropriate) All age-appropriate vaccines Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives Spay/neuter surgery Microchip *The breed(s) listed are guessed and based on the dog's physical appearance*

If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Olive, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a a backyard breeder. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. The CSAC volunteer said that I am friendly, calm and cuddly. I like to be held, and I do know how to get along with children. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen.
