Story

Meet Talia 💕 a 6-year-old Shih Tzu/Poodle mix with a gentle spirit and a heart that just needs time. Talia is a very shy, sensitive girl who is still learning to feel safe in the world around her. She is not a dog who seeks out attention right away in fact, she currently prefers space over physical affection and may not enjoy being pet at this time. Talia will need a patient, understanding home that respects her boundaries and allows her to come around on her own terms. While she may not be a “cuddly” dog right now, Talia finds comfort in quiet environments and consistent routines. With time, trust, and gentle encouragement, she has the potential to build meaningful bonds but her future family must be willing to go slow and celebrate the small wins. Talia is fully vaccinated, spayed, and has excellent manners for grooming. She is doing very well with housebreaking and continues to improve, though she may still have occasional accidents as she adjusts. Talia would do best in a calm, low-traffic home with patient adopters who understand shy or undersocialized dogs. She’s looking for someone who will love her for who she is right now not who they expect her to be. If you have a quiet home and a big heart for dogs who need a little extra understanding, Talia could be your girl 💗 Apply to adopt Talia here: https://www.zoeshouserescue.com/adopt Zoe’s House Rescue
Kennel #9117
Sinking Spring, PA 19608

Maude: Meet This Sweet Girl! 🐾 This precious 5-year-old Shih Tzu weighs just 12 pounds and is ready to find her forever family. Maude is a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality shines through. She enjoys being petted and enjoys the company of other dogs. ❤️ She is already spayed and fully vaccinated, so she’s all set to begin the next chapter of her life! Sadly, she recently had to have all of her teeth extracted. But don’t let that stop you from considering this wonderful girl—she is still happy, loving, and deserving of a family who will give her the special care she needs. She requires a diet of canned food and small-bite dog food. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion and can give her the patience, care, and understanding she deserves, she may be the perfect addition to your family. 🏡💗 Could you be the loving forever home she’s been waiting for? Please consider giving this sweet girl the second chance she deserves! 🐶💕 Kennel #9117

Story

KENNEL ID #18804Romeo is a 7-year-old, 14-pound Shih Tzu who recently retired from a commercial breeding kennel. Unlike many dogs from his background, Romeo is a little more confident and enjoys coming over for gentle pets and attention. He’s still learning that people can be kind, and each day his personality continues to shine. Romeo would do best with a patient family that will help him adjust to life as a cherished companion instead of a breeding dog. He enjoys the company of other dogs and will need a confident canine companion in his new home to help him continue building confidence and learning what family life is all about. A quieter home without young children would be the best fit for Romeo. With love, patience, and another friendly dog by his side, this sweet little guy is sure to blossom into a wonderful companion. â¤ï¸ Adoption Fee: $475 (includes neuter) Thank you for your interest in rescue. Story

Meet Maverick, aka Lucky! Maverick is a little guy with a BIG personality—and in his mind, he is absolutely the king of his castle. Maverick is happiest in a low-key home where life is predictable and he can feel safe and secure. He takes his role as head of household very seriously and isn't shy about letting visitors know whether or not they have received his official stamp of approval. Because of this, he's looking for an adopter who understands that beneath all that machoness is a little dog who sometimes needs help feeling safe in his own space. And while Maverick may be small, he prefers to keep all four paws firmly on the ground. We know how tempting it can be to scoop up the little guys, but Maverick would rather you resist the urge. He isn't a fan of being picked up and needs a family who will respect that boundary and let him come to them on his own terms. His person will need to be willing to set appropriate boundaries, manage introductions and visitors, and make sure Maverick doesn't get himself into trouble trying to be tougher than he really is. The good news? Maverick is great with other dogs and genuinely enjoys their companionship. Having canine friends around suits him just fine—as long as everyone remembers who owns the castle, of course. Maverick doesn't need a busy social calendar or a revolving door of visitors. He needs someone who appreciates him for exactly who he is and can give him the quieter, structured home where he can relax and stop feeling like he has to be in charge of everything. If you're looking for a pint-sized ruler, loyal companion, and canine roommate all rolled into one, Maverick may just be your guy. Give this little king the right castle, and we think he'll consider you very Lucky indeed. Mostly Muttz Rescue, PO Box 406, Gilbertsville, PA 19525PA Kennel License 10872 ##2628735##

Story

Meet Watermelon, a delightful little Shih Tzu who is finally getting the chance to discover what life is supposed to be like. Watermelon is part of our Summer Breeze Crew, a group of Shih Tzus who came to us from a backyard breeder when they were no longer considered useful. For Watermelon, that meant leaving behind the only life she had known and beginning to experience all of the things every dog deserves—comfort, kindness, attention and the freedom to simply be someone’s beloved companion. And this sweet girl is embracing it all. Watermelon has a wonderful, easygoing demeanor and a curiosity about the world around her. She loves being outside and exploring, happily taking in all the new sights and smells she missed out on before. She also loves treats, affection and spending time with her people. There’s something especially sweet about watching a dog who was once valued for what she could provide discover that she can be loved simply for being herself. She is doing okay on a leash, especially considering that walking on one is still very new to her. She is quiet when crated and is working on potty training, where she is already making nice progress. With consistency, patience and plenty of encouragement, we expect her to continue learning what life inside a home is all about. As a Shih Tzu, Watermelon will require regular grooming approximately every 4–6 weeks, along with brushing and some at-home trimming in between appointments to keep her coat comfortable and healthy. Watermelon has already spent enough of her life being useful to someone else. Now she deserves a family who will spoil her, adore her and let her be exactly what she was always meant to be: Someone’s princess. Story

Meet Cupcake -Cupcake is a 16 yo 9 lbs. shih tzu mix gal whose owner passed away and Logan’s rescued her from ACCT Philly. She is a very sweet little dog who is good in her crate. She only has two back teeth, but she is able to eat and enjoy her canned food. Cupcake has blended into her foster home and has been very accepting of every dog that lives there. She is a really good girl. She goes in and out of the back door with everyone and loves the backyard. She walks on a leash but does like to wander in the fenced in yard and explore, but it is not required. Cupscake can be an only dog or go to a home with another older dog. She has been exposed to the foster’s grandson and did not react one way or another. We think she would be very happy in a quiet environment. Cupcake is spayed and had a mammary tumor removed and ready for her new forever home. Her adoption fee is $100.00.
