Mimi's glow-up has been about so much more than a haircut!She came to us as part of a cruelty and hoarding case, completely matted and understandably unsure about the people around her. Her coat was in such rough shape that she had to be shaved down, and emotionally, she needed some time too. We let Mimi move at her own pace and learn that people could be safe.And look at her now! Her coat has grown back, she's looking absolutely glamorous, and the cautious little dog who first arrived has blossomed into the sweetest, most devoted companion.Mimi may still need a little time to decide you're trustworthy, but once she does, congratulations, you've acquired a shadow! She wants to be in your lap, curled up at your feet, or somewhere nearby where she can keep an eye on you. At bedtime, she'd love nothing more than to snuggle into bed and sleep touching her person.She's pretty laid back, house trained, and gets along well with people and other dogs. Mimi is happy to share her home with canine friends, although if another dog is pestering her, she'll give a little growl to politely remind them that a girl is entitled to some personal space!Considering where Mimi started, seeing her learn to relax, trust, and seek out affection has been pretty incredible. Thankfully, her foster momma stepped up and has made incredible progress with her, giving Pippa all the love, patience, and care she needed—including regular medicated baths to help her skin heal and feel better. Despite her rough start, Pippa has held onto the sweetest, happiest personality and is absolutely full of love. 🥹Pippa is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. She loves starting her mornings with a nice long walk, lounging on the patio in the fresh air, and playing with the other dogs in her foster home. Moo is a mature adult Shih Tzu with a huge personality and an even bigger heart. He came to Cactus Ranch Rescue from a kill shelter in the Rio Grande Valley after arriving in rough condition with severe matting, a painful skin infection, and some weight to gain. Despite everything he has been through, Moo is one of the happiest little guys around. He is sweet, affectionate, friendly, and does great with other animals. He loves attention, enjoys being close to his people, and seems genuinely grateful for every bit of comfort and kindness he receives. Moo is also missing his top front teeth and has an adorable little underbite that only adds to his charm. He is currently still healing and is not quite ready to head home yet, but we are accepting applications from families interested in pre-adopting him. Moo would do wonderfully with someone looking for a loving, easygoing companion who just wants a soft place to land and a family of his own.
