Story

Springer is 8 years old and will be turning 9 at the end of January. We are looking to re-home as we have such a busy schedule with 2 under 2. Unfortunately, he was the baby in the family for a solid 6 years but that took turn. He deserves more love and attention in which I can no longer tend to him. He is like a baby himself and would really love for someone to continue to give him everything he needs and more.

Story

This precious 14-year-old Shih Tzu came to us as a stray in heartbreaking condition. She is blind, and the fur around her eyes was so severely matted that it took hours of gentle, careful work just to reveal them. Despite everything she has endured, she has shown nothing but quiet strength and a gentle spirit. She suffers from severe hip dysplasia and has multiple mammary masses. Sadly, she is not a candidate for surgery due to damage to her heart and lungs from heartworms. Because of this, she has been placed on hospice care. While she is not adoptable, she is safe and cherished in a loving hospice home where she receives comfort, pain management, and all the affection she deserves. Our goal is to make her golden months—and hopefully years—as peaceful and comfortable as possible. Donations made in her honor will go directly toward her ongoing medical care, medications, and daily comfort. Thank you for helping us show her that even at the end of a hard road, love still finds her. If you would like to donate to her care, you can do so on our website: www.hhfrescue.org or her wish list https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1MQWMV3IVCOBB?ref_=wl_share

Story

Gabriella may technically be a mature woman, but spiritually? She’s a college kid with significantly better taste. Her ideal day consists of snacks, lounging on a Squishmallow she has absolutely claimed as her own, more snacks, and eventually curling up on the couch with her chosen people. She’s fully vetted, heartworm negative, and officially ready to find a permanent place to unpack her emotional-support Squishmallows. Gabriella is good with dogs, cats, and kids, but she does have significant vision loss in one eye. Because she can’t always see what, or who, is coming toward her, she prefers a household where everyone understands that **personal space is a love language**. Super energetic dogs, rambunctious kids or anyone coming at her like a spider monkey can be overwhelming for her. She’s also not an “OMG HI, I LOVE YOU!” kind of girl when she first meets someone. Gabriella needs a little time and patience to learn that she’s safe and that she can trust you. Immediate cuddles are not included in the introductory package. But give her the chance to settle in, learn your routine, and realize that you are the keeper of the snacks? That’s when you get to meet the real Gabriella. ❤️ If your home has a soft couch, a reasonable snack budget, and at least one Squishmallow available for redistribution, Gabriella would like to review your application. Story

At just 5 years old, Nelly has perfected the art of being the ultimate companion. Need a dance partner while you're making dinner? Nelly's ready. Looking for a professional foot warmer during movie night? She's already claimed the job. Want a best friend who thinks every day is better when spent with her people? That's Nelly in a nutshell. This happy little Shih Tzu loves being part of the family and is wonderful with kids. She's also happy to share her home with other dogs and couldn't care less about cats. Nelly's favorite place in the world is wherever her people happen to be, whether that's on the couch, in the backyard, or following you from room to room as your tiny, fluffy supervisor. Like many special girls, Nelly comes with a few maintenance requirements. She has allergies and a history of bladder stones, so she'll need to stay on a special diet to keep her feeling her best. The good news? She doesn't let any of that slow her down from living her happiest life. Nelly is proof that the best things often come in small, slightly fluffy packages. If you're looking for a loyal sidekick, expert cuddler, and all-around delightful little dog, Nelly may be your perfect match. Interested in adopting Nelly? Apply today at www.hhfrescue.org
