Story
Ollie & Jackson are the sweetest bonded shitzus. They are both 8 years old and would do best in a home with older children (or no kids) and they would love a big window and a dog door do they can "check on things" as needed. Ollie is a silly boy and loves everyone. He wags his tail the second he lays eyes on you! He enjoys playing with tiny cat toys, having all of your attention and snuggling. Jackson takes his time to warm up to people but has learned to love gentle pets and smooches in his foster home. Jackson's loves to be teased with a squeaky toy. Both boys are learning to walk on leash still and are doing much better but will need someone patient to help them - or two people! They are 99% house trained but need some reminders not to mark. They do fine left alone at home but would love someone with a routine that includes giving them lots of love!

Story
Hiya! I’m Moe, and I’ve been looking for you. I thought I could find you on my own, so I took myself for a walk. Apparently, that’s against the rules! Some nice people picked me up and took me to the shelter, thinking you would find me there. Since you were busy getting ready for me, I came to live with my foster mom while you prepared your heart for your new best friend. I’m about 6 months old and, until recently, lived a bit of a nomadic life. Because of that, I’ll need a patient family to help me learn what it means to be a beloved family member. Leashes are still new to me, and they make me a little nervous, but my foster mom says I’ll soon discover they lead to adventures with my people. I’ve shown some signs of separation anxiety, but with the right family, consistency, and time, I think I’ll learn that I’m safe and loved, even when my people aren’t right beside me. I love having doggie friends and seem curious about cats. I’m also learning how to use the dog door, but I’m not quite a pro yet. A good routine and positive guidance will help me continue building my confidence. If you’re looking for a sweet young pup who just needs a little patience and a lot of love, I might be the one you’ve been waiting for. Moe has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Moe, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I'm Baby Bagheera, I'm only 2 years old! I may be small at just 7 pounds, but I have one very big talent: loving my people with my whole heart. I'm the kind of girl who wants to be wherever you are, literally, I might even follow you to the bathroom, just to make sure you're safe! Every morning I greet my foster mom like we've been apart for years, and I get just as excited to see her every single day. I may be small but I'm long and wiggle like a worm when I'm too excited! I'm super gentle with kids and with other dogs, crate trained, and have the tiniest little bark because I'd much rather be your best friend than your watchdog. I love sprinting through the grass with happy zoomies, chasing sprinklers and the garden hose, chewing on my favorite bones, and carefully hiding them away for later (sometimes in the yard, sometimes tucked into my blankets). When we're inside, I'm calm, content, and happiest just being close to the people I love. If you're looking for a loyal little shadow who will make your house feel more like home, I think we might be the perfect match. Instead of being raised solely for breeding, he now has the opportunity to grow up surrounded by love, kindness, and the promise of a forever family. From the very beginning, Maradona has shown what a fun and outgoing little puppy he is. He's always excited to meet new people, eager to explore new places, and ready to turn almost anything into a game. His happy-go-lucky personality makes him the kind of puppy who brings smiles wherever he goes. Maradona is confident, social, and loves being part of the action. Whether he's greeting visitors with a wagging tail, playing with his puppy friends, or proudly carrying his favorite toy around the house, he approaches life with enthusiasm and curiosity. After an active day, he's just as happy to settle in beside you for cuddles and a well-earned nap. As a Pomsky / Maltese / Shih Tzu Mix, Maradona is expected to be intelligent, affectionate, and highly people-oriented. The Pomsky brings curiosity and playful energy, the Maltese contributes a gentle and loving temperament, and the Shih Tzu is known for its loyal, friendly nature. Together, these breeds create an adaptable companion who enjoys learning, socializing, and spending time with the people he loves. Maradona would thrive in a home that offers: Daily walks and plenty of playtime Positive reinforcement training Interactive toys and mental enrichment Continued socialization with people and other dogs A consistent daily routine A safe indoor home where he's included in family activities A lifetime of love, patience, and commitment Maradona has been given the opportunity for a brand-new beginning. Now all he needs is a family who will help him grow into the happy, confident companion he's meant to be. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Like all puppies, Maradona is still discovering the world around him. His new family should expect normal puppy behaviors, including chewing, teething, playful bursts of energy, and lots of curiosity as he learns about his surroundings. Maradona is eager to learn and enjoys interacting with people, making this the perfect time to begin building good habits through patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to learn your household routine 3 Months to fully settle into family life Maradona will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training House-training and consistent routines Daily exercise and supervised play Continued socialization with people, dogs, and new experiences Mental stimulation through enrichment toys and interactive games Plenty of patience, encouragement, and affection With loving guidance and continued training, Maradona will mature into a well-mannered, loyal companion who will enjoy every adventure by your side. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Bringing home a puppy is a lifelong commitment that includes training, veterinary care, exercise, and companionship. As part of responsible pet ownership, Maradona will need: Completion of his puppy vaccination schedule and routine wellness examinations Neutering when age-appropriate, following his veterinarian's recommendation Monthly flea, tick, heartworm, and parasite prevention A nutritious diet that supports healthy growth and development Daily physical exercise appropriate for his age Continued obedience training and socialization A safe, loving indoor home where he is treated as a cherished member of the family Because Maradona is still growing, strenuous repetitive exercise and excessive jumping should be limited until his joints have fully developed. We recommend scheduling a wellness examination with your veterinarian shortly after adoption to establish care and ensure he continues to thrive. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting Maradona, please complete an adoption application by visiting: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Thank you for considering adoption through Ozzie and Friends Rescue, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to giving dogs a second chance at a loving home.
