Story
Gia is an 8-year-old spayed Shih Tzu with the gentlest soul and a heart full of love. She’s incredibly well-mannered, enjoys greeting people and other dogs on walks, and still has plenty of energy for her age. Her favorite things are cuddles, belly rubs, and simply being close to her people. Due to unforeseen financial and time constraints, Gia hasn’t yet been able to see a veterinarian for recent urinary issues. She is otherwise happy, eating well, and very much herself. At this time, she is experiencing incontinence that may be related to a UTI or similar condition, and she is currently wearing diapers. She is house-trained, and these accidents are out of character for her. Gia deserves a loving home with someone who can take her to the vet for an exam and provide any treatment she may need. In return, she will offer unwavering companionship, affection, and endless love. She’s a truly special girl who just needs a chance and a compassionate heart willing to care for her. 🐶💕

Story
Meet Pumpkin & Ginger – Bonded Shih Tzu Sisters Seeking Their Forever Home Pumpkin (black, 9 years old) and Ginger (pewter, 8 years old) are tiny but mighty senior Shih Tzu's, each weighing around 10 lbs. These inseparable sisters are looking for a loving home where they can stay together. We welcomed Pumpkin and Ginger a few months ago after their previous owners made the difficult decision to surrender them. Both girls have chronic skin and ear issues, which are common in Shih Tzu's. Thanks to the great care from our vet and foster family, they’re doing much better—but they’ll need ongoing support to stay comfortable and healthy. Their care routine includes: • Weekly medicated baths (can be done at home). Sometimes 2x a week if there is a flare-up • Regular use of topical medicated sprays/wipes • Occasional ear cleanings • Consistent grooming and haircuts • Special diet/supplements Ginger is fairly cooperative with her care, while Pumpkin has a bit more sass—but both are sweet and affectionate. They both had recent dental work, are spayed, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and microchipped. They’re great eaters but require a special, chicken-free diet to help manage their skin from the inside out. Their meals include variations of fish-based kibble, peas, carrots, green beans, ground beef, Greek yogurt, omega oil, and probiotics—easy to prepare and not prescription-based. These ladies love (and sometimes demand) the royal treatment: lap time, naps, gentle brushing, sunbathing, short strolls, and lounging on soft beds. They’re mostly housebroken, crate-trained, travel well in the car, show no interest in the resident kitty, get along with other calm dogs, sleep well, and can be trusted alone at home. They will do best in a patient, quiet home with limited stairs, a small fenced yard (both prefer to potty off the leash), and a regular routine. Because of their size and special needs, small children and energetic dogs may not be the best fit in their new home. The cutest thing about them is that they both have an underbite and stick their tongues out. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to two loving, low-key companions who thrive on affection and routine, Pumpkin and Ginger would love to meet you. Story
Kirk may be small at just 6 pounds, but his journey has been anything but easy. This handsome, fluffy Papillon/Chihuahua mix is around 1–2 years old and is learning what it means to live a life filled with safety, affection, and choice — things he never had before.  Kirk was rescued from an extreme hoarding and breeding situation where over 140 dogs were living without proper care or socialization. Because of this, he entered foster care fearful and unsure of human touch. Trust did not come easily — but love has been changing everything. In his foster home, Kirk has begun to soften. With patience and consistency, he is discovering that laps are for cuddling, voices can be gentle, and attention can be something to enjoy rather than fear. He now seeks out affection and loves being close to his people, especially when he feels secure. Kirk is still on a confidence-building journey. He will benefit from daily walks, positive reinforcement, and a calm environment where he can continue learning at his own pace. A fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus, and a home with older children or adults who understand his sensitive nature would be ideal. He is crate trained and continuing to improve with house training. Kirk is not a finished story — he is the beginning of one. A story of resilience, healing, and a dog finally becoming who he was always meant to be. If you have the patience to earn his trust (it won't take long) and the heart to love him through his transformation, Kirk will repay you with loyalty, devotion, and the quiet joy of watching a once-frightened dog flourish.
