**This dog is not in the direct care of Happy Tails Happy Homes. We are assisting in rehoming her from her current owner. If you are interested in Raven, please fill out an application here https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform ** 🐾 Meet Raven 🖤 Breed: Shih Tzu Birthday: July 9, 2017 Raven is a gentle, soft-hearted little Shih Tzu who is finally getting her chance to just be a dog. She spent much of her life as a kennel dog used for breeding, quietly doing what was expected of her. Her last litter was born in October 2025, and she has not been with a male since. Now, her breeding days are behind her—and she’s ready for a different kind of life, one filled with comfort, kindness, and love. Despite her past, Raven is incredibly sweet and friendly. She enjoys human companionship and truly loves sitting on laps, soaking up affection she likely didn’t get enough of before. She has a calm, gentle presence and seems happiest when she’s close to her person. Raven is up to date on her vaccines, with the exception of her rabies shot, which she will still need. She will also be freshly bathed and groomed before heading to her new home—when and if that loving home comes to pass. Raven is looking for someone who understands that she’s starting a new chapter later in life and is willing to offer patience, softness, and a warm lap to land on. She’s given a lot already. Now she deserves a quiet, loving retirement where she can finally feel like someone’s cherished companion.

Story
Meet Benji Bear — estimated 1 year old, 15.5 pounds, part Shih Tzu, part Havanese, part… gremlin? Honestly, we’re still running the DNA test for “chaotic little man with main-character energy.” Benji is special — and he knows it. He likes what Benji likes… until he doesn’t. His moods shift faster than the wind and he makes no apologies. Looking for a cuddle bug? Yeah, that’s not Benji. Looking for a tiny coworker who will sit next to you, accept respectful head pats, and roll his eyes dramatically while you rant about Carol from accounting? That’s your guy. Benji loads up in the car all by himself and rides like a champ, is great on leash, and absolutely loves to strut his stuff on walks — tiny body, big confidence. We’re pretty sure that once Benji realizes he’s safe and doesn’t have to act like a tough dude, his softer side might peek out. Probably. Maybe. No promises. Benji’s ideal home? -Adults only, or teens who can respect his “don’t kill my vibe” vibe -A family stocked with patience and cheese -A single-dog home, where Benji gets to be the main character, the supporting cast, and the entire emotional storyline — because his feelings (like a teenager’s) are big, dramatic, and subject to change without notice If you’re ready for a quirky, hilarious, independent little fellow who marches to the beat of his own tiny drum, Benji Bear is taking applications. Application: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/690913d68e9aa22a2d0a57c5 If you have any questions or interested in Benji, email his coordinator at Kathleen@threelittlepittiesrescue.org We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,600 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:   Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!   Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!   Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Story
Meet Bentley Bentley is an 8-year-old pup with a sweet, loyal personality once he warms up to you. He’s house-trained, protective of his home, and happiest in a calm, child-free environment—perfect for a single owner, couple, or retiree who can give him patience and attention. He’s low-maintenance, content being home alone during the day, and doesn’t need much exercise. Bentley can be nervous around men and other dogs but becomes incredibly affectionate once he feels safe. He’ll need a little extra leash training, as he tends to bark on walks. Grooming is needed about 3–4 times a year—he does best with a mobile groomer he’s comfortable with. It breaks our hearts to rehome him, but we know he’ll thrive in the right home. If you’re looking for a loyal, easygoing companion, Bentley might be the one.

Story
(01/04/26) FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Haunter! Haunter is a 4-year-old, 15 lb Shih Tzu/Pekingese mix with the cutest little underbite and a soft, fluffy coat. He’ll need a home committed to regular grooming to keep him comfortable and looking his best. Haunter came to us from a difficult past where he missed out on early socialization, and because of that, the outside world can feel overwhelming for him. He is very fearful in unfamiliar environments, especially with loud noises and busy surroundings, and he will need continued support learning the basics—including leash walking—at his own pace. For this reason, Haunter will do best in a standalone home with a fully fenced yard. Apartments or high-traffic living situations would not be a good fit for him. At heart, Haunter is a gentle, loving boy who just wants to feel safe. He loves being close to his person, enjoys being held, and prefers a calm, predictable lifestyle. He has not shown to be a high-energy or playful dog and would thrive in a quiet home where he can move at his own pace while slowly building confidence with the world. Haunter would do well as an only dog with an adopter committed to patient, positive socialization, or in a home with a laid-back, calm dog companion who can peacefully coexist and help him feel more secure. He will need a patient, understanding adopter—ideally someone experienced with shy or fearful dogs—who can help him learn that the world doesn’t have to be scary. This sweet boy has so much love to give and is looking for a soft place to land with someone who will give him the time, structure, and compassion he deserves. Haunter is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Anise! Anise is a 1-year-old, 11 lb Shih Tzu mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. This little guy is super sweet, goofy, and full of charm! Anise loves being held, carried, and enjoys sticking close to his people. He’s treat-motivated, eager to please, and always up for a walk or an adventure by your side. Whether it’s daily strolls, outings, or just tagging along with his humans, Anise is happiest when he’s included. He does great with other dogs and would love a home with another friendly pup as a full-time playmate. He could also thrive as an only dog as long as he continues to get regular socialization and doggy playdates. Anise will need adopters who are committed to keeping up with his grooming needs. He has not been tested with cats. If you’re looking for a small, affectionate companion who’s equal parts cuddly and adventurous, Anise could be your perfect match! Anise is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and will be neutered prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $500.
