They are in need of a home that can open their hearts to both easy-going dogs. Jasper, a Shih Tzu born in August 2011, is ready to go with the flow. Need someone to lend an ear (despite not being able to hear that well) or just be a calming presence? Jasper is your guy! Chloe, a Bichon Frise mix born in September 2014, is quite the friendly gal. She is missing some teeth, leaving her tongue hanging out of her mouth in an adorable fashion. She is scheduled for a double knee replacement, and will need a home that can help her recover. A Good Samaritan stepped in after realizing that a large group of adult dogs and puppies living in a home, who had too many dogs, had become seriously ill with parvovirus. The homeowners agreed to surrender the dogs to us so they could finally receive the care they desperately needed. Comet arrived with his sister, at only 10 weeks old, and both puppies were extremely sick. They were immediately taken to our vet for treatment, but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, Comet’s sister passed away the following morning.  Somehow, sweet little Comet fought his way through parvo and is now healthy, happy, and ready to find the loving home he has always deserved.  Comet is a Shih Tzu/Maltese mix who is nothing but LOVE. He has all the typical puppy energy and playfulness you would expect from a young pup, but underneath all that puppy fun is a sweet little guy who has already been through far more than any puppy should. Because of Comet’s breed mix, his new family will need to be committed to consistent grooming and regular brushing to keep his coat healthy, comfortable, and mat-free. This is an important part of caring for a Shih Tzu/Maltese mix and should be considered before applying. He is also hypoallergenic (don't shed).  Comet is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and current on heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. His adoption fee is $500. That said, he’s also a bit of a diva who enjoys being the star of the show. He can get a little grumpy when other dogs steal the spotlight from him, so he’s looking for an experienced home that offers clear structure, gentle boundaries, and patience while he works on sharing the stage. He’s currently on a healing journey for some skin allergies, which leaves him sporting a unique "half-coat" look at the moment. We’ve made great progress on his recovery, and his current routine is straightforward: daily pills, medicated baths, and a special diet. On top of being a total sweetheart, Willy is fully house-trained with great indoor manners. He’s been through a lot, but with a committed adopter ready to keep up his skin care and offer a steady routine, he is going to make a deeply devoted, fun companion.
