Story
Meet Hank – The Ultimate Cuddle Companion! Hank is a charming 5-year-old Shih Tzu mix with a heart as big as his adorable fluffy face! Sadly, at no fault of his own, he found himself in need of a new home after his owner passed away. Now, this sweet boy is looking for a loving family to shower him with affection—especially belly rubs, which are his absolute favorite! When Hank first came into rescue, he had a rough start with irritated skin due to a flea infestation. But thanks to medicated baths, ointments, and lots of TLC, his skin has healed beautifully, and he now looks like a brand-new pup after his professional grooming. Hank has proven to be an easygoing and lovable companion. He mastered the doggy door right away and enjoys snuggling up with his foster mom and her two dogs at bedtime. He’s neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventions—completely ready for his next chapter! If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, and well-mannered little guy to bring endless joy into your home, Hank is the perfect match. Submit your adoption application today and give this sweet boy the forever family he deserves! $200 Local Adoption Fee (in Texas Only) $450 Out Of State Fee (includes transport to your area)

Click the button to download the adoption application. The application is a form-fillable pdf. Fill out the form, save it to your hard drive, then email back to sian@gingerspetrescue.org Hi!!  My name is Parsnip from Korea and I am a wonderful approx. 2 year old male Shih Tzu.  I am about 7 lbs. and hoping to find a forever home.  I am friendly and was saved from an illegal Breeding Farm in South Korea.  I was rescued with many others by local activists from the horrific conditions we were in.  I fought to survive every day and was so badly neglected.  Korea kills an estimated 1.5 -2 million dogs a year to be eaten.  I just want a chance to be part of a family and for someone to love and care for me.  I am so lucky to get a one-way ticket to Seattle to find my new family.  Take me on car rides, walks in the park and I will become your best friend.  I get along well with people of all ages, gentle kids, and other dogs.  I will do best with a loving family that can give me lots of love and affection!  On all overseas adoption, we highly recommend our pet rescue dog trainer who will come to your home and help train your new pup.  My adoption fee of $1,595 will cover my spay/neuter, DA2PP shots, Rabies, Bordetella, Deworm, Heart Worm Test, Microchip, Boarding Fees, Health Certificate and airline transport cost from Korea to Seattle.  A GPS tracker or Apple AirTag is required for all adopted dogs. You can bring your own when adopting or you can purchase an AirTag from us.  The adoption fee is firm and helps save the life of another dog needing rescue and our other dogs in need of medical care.  We do not guarantee the breed and age of the dogs.  Donations are always appreciated to help pay down our vet bills at Greenwood Vet.  Ginger's Pet Rescue is a non-profit 501C-3 organization.  The adoption fee is donated to the rescue and is tax deductible.  Please e-mail at  admin@gingerspetrescue.org  for an adoption application.     December 2, 2024, 7:41 pm

Story
Meet Latte! This 10-week-old, 6-pound Shih Tzu mix is as sweet and cozy as a warm cup of her namesake. With her soft fur and snuggly personality, she’s the perfect little companion for anyone looking for a loving pup.Latte is doing amazing with pee pad and kennel training, proving she’s one smart cookie! She adores kids, gets along great with other dogs, and even loves cats. Whether she’s playing or curling up in your lap, Latte is sure to fill her future home with love, cuddles, and endless tail wags!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.March 20, 2025, 6:54 am

Story
----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
