Story
Find us Furry Nation Salvation on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok -We are an all-volunteer, foster based rescue that has been finding homes for animals in need since 2010. Located in: Port Orange, FL 386-295-2755 (***please read this before calling-thank you*** ). Meet the 95-alive kittens ! This is Dune, a Siamese girl with blue eyes. She is 7 weeks old. A lady contacted us and stated she found a bin on the side of the interstate (I-95) with kittens inside. That is when she brought them to my work. They were healthy and knew if they were in fact dumped, they were not dumped for long. They were barely 4 weeks old and had to be bottle fed and why they are so needy and social. PERSONALITY: She is super social and use to kids, other pets and chaos (I have a very active home with 4 kids and other pets).. she can be held with ease and very social. They are also quite playful too. She had to be bottle fed but is now eating wet food 2-3 times a day. Here is a video of her on YouTube -just copy and paste this link into your browser to see it if you cant see it here . https://youtube.com/shorts/zycixDlwDMw?is=8Vp64ke04EyY6BCQ The kitty is using the cat box well and eating lots of wet food. Friskies pate wet food Twice daily. We dont give any dry. READ at the very bottom to learn why it is actually vital for cats to get wet food daily (and why limiting the crappy dry food is key). LESS VET BILLS for You; longer life for kitty! Yes- the amount of wet food you give also matters. VETTING: they have been dewormed with Strongid, have Revolution on for fleas, and have been microchipped. Since they are too young to be spayed/neutered/vaccinated now this is all INCLUDED in the adoption fee; kitten would need to come back to us around 4-5 months of age. We make this work for anyones work schedule and there is an option to spay/ neuter on your own. Just ask us any questions you have. We are Located in Port Orange, FL 386-295-2755 **How our process works and Application is here: FurryNationSalvation.org/adoptionprocess (copy and paste into your browser) Or text us for a direct adoption process link 386-295-2755 ***Find us on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram!*** -If you want to adopt : 1) please show up with cat carrier. 2) We give you copies of all forms. 3) we take photo of you and newly adopted pet. 4) we go over pet education packet as we do with anyone who adopts from us so you have a successful adoption. 5) adoption fee $300- the higher adoption fee is helping us with building our facility ! Please know we have other kittens at our normal fees also. They are currently dewormed and microchipped. Adoption fee also includes future neuter, rabies,; distemper vaccine. 6) We take any kitty back if it isnt working out . But all kittens need time to adjust Furry Nation Salvation Port Orange, FL furrynationsalvation@hotmail.com 386-295-2755 (More on wet food) Pease remember; our cats have a low thirst drive and NEED the moisture in the wet food. They are designed to get the bulk of the water needs from their food like a wild cat. Since wet food is 75% moisture and dry food only 10%, that is huge for our felines. Cats need wet food daily to avoid a lot of dehydration related medical problems long term like urinary tract issues which can lead to litter box ovoidance and kidney disease or obesity issues linked to diabetes.. ****How much?**** At least one (3oz. can a day but 2 cans recommended) or 1/2 of a 5oz. Can of Friskies pate wet food a day (although one full can, half in morning and other half at night, is recommended ). We highly encourage 5.5-6oz a day of wet cat food.

Story
Rusty originally came to us because he was dumped, in a carrier with a red Chistmas ball attached to it, at Pet Supermarket. He was discovered near closing time. He was adopted. A year later I got a frantic call from his adopted yelling that she spent $350 at a vet( that we did not recommend), she was done with him. I told her to meet me at my vet with him now. When I arrived, the entire staff was already upset with owner. Rusty was in a room and owner already signed paperwork to have him put down. He was given the 1st of 2 injections. Owner put him in my arms and left. Like left the building, left the parking lot. I looked into his eyes. I could not do this. I was in tears. He was not ready to leave. I called my rescue sisters for advise. Rusty had a urinary blockage. Owner had recently had him shaved. ( It was winter!!!) In some cats, intense, ongoing stress can cause physical issues. That was the case for Rusty. My rescue sisters and I were all in agreement, if our vet could reverse the 1st shot we'd do whatever it took to heal his body and heart. I never ran so fast to get one if the vet techs yo take Rusty in the back to the vet to begin healing him. He was in the hospital 3 days and reblocked. We took him back. I rang in the New Year with Rusty at Veterinary Emergency Center of East Volusia 2023. He has since been in a loving home but due to owner health issues he needs to find a new home. He is exceptionally loving and affectionate, has not had any health issues but is not fond of dogs. With gentle handling, patience, and lots of positive interactions, they are slowly learning that people can be trusted. While they may still be shy at first, each day brings new confidence and growth.   Their Ideal Home: A calm, quieter household No dogs No small children An adopter willing to give them time to adjust and build trust Plenty of love, patience, and treats!
