Meet Archie: The King of Cuddling!
Move over Frank Sinatra because there's a new Ol' Blue Eyes in town and his name is Archie! Archie is a gorgeous medium-hair Siamese who is on a heartwarming journey from stray to snuggler. Forever Fortunate Felines rescued Archie from Chicago Animal Care and Control, where he was shutting down and needed some serious TLC. Thanks to his foster, he regained interest in life and now he is all about love!
Don’t let Archie’s RGF (resting grump face) fool you- this floofy boy is super affectionate both with humans and cats! Archie loves to be involved in the social life of his household, be it running around with his foster friends, following you around as you do chores, or napping next to his humans during the day. Archie is particularly spry for a 7 year old cat and loves to play tag with other cats, chase wands toys, springs, and crinkly balls around the house. Archie does has a tendency to come on strong with other cats and his foster has observed that confident, extroverted cats love his attentions while more reserved cats do not. Archie's endearing social graces really manifest when he is around kittens! He adores kittens and will patiently and gently play with them, let them pounce on his plume-like tail, give them tongue baths, and settle in for cozy naps together.
While Archie gets along well with playful cats (especially males), he is also perfectly happy to be the sole object of your affection. Archie's foster loves how he joyously greets her every day with soft meows, affectionate head butts, and gentles purrs. Archie's favorite way to receive attention is when he crawls into your lap, brings his big blue eyes right up to your place, and asks you to hold his head in your hands and rub his cheeks. Archie can get a little over-stimulated when he receives pets along his body but he is very sensitive to human speech/tone and will desist when you gently remonstrate him and stop the interaction. As such, Archie's ideal home will need adults and children who are cat-savy and understand that his occasional mouthiness will not escalate.
As a fabulous Siamese living on the streets, Archie has taken some time to regrow his fabulous coat. You may notice some hair loss on his face but his foster has seen him regrow so much of his hair that we are confident that Archie will regrow the rest with time. As part of his journey to a happy life, we have found that Archie is sensitive to beef in his diet but can very happily consume all manner of chicken- and fish-based wet and dry foods from multiple brands (Hill's, Royal Canin, Purina Pro). We also suspect that Archie might be particularly sensitive to environmental allergens like scented litter, scented laundry detergent/dryer sheets and other harsh chemicals that also cause dermatitis in humans.
If you are looking for a debonair and quirky feline companion, Archie is the cat for you! Archie has so much love to give and would make an affecionate and soulful addition to your home.
