Story
Name: Max  Age: 10 (DOB 3/28/2016) Weight: 9 pounds Gender: Male Breed: Seal Point Siamese mix  Coat Length: Short  Color: Seal Point Dog friendly: testing available upon request Cat friendly: Yes, after slow introductions Child friendly: Older, school-aged, calmer, respectful children Litter Box Trained: yes Temperament: Outgoing, affectionate, talkative  Energy Level: low/moderate  Adoption Fee: $100 + tax To adopt, go to:  www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html From the Foster Family: Looking for a new best friend? Look no further....   Max is a stunning 10-year-old Siamese who came to Mending Spirits when his family could no longer keep him. His entire world was flipped upside down so he took some time to settle into my home as he was grieving these losses. I found that by giving him plenty of patience, time and love (and wet cat food and churro treats) he has really started to blossom. Max prefers to follow me all around the house with cute little meows and enjoys our conversations throughout the day. He will often cuddle up next to me in the evening when I am working on a craft or watching a movie. He is just starting to show interest in toys especially wand type toys and fishing poles with feathers at the end. At night he is ready to settle into bed with me where he will cuddle in close with his purr motor going. Max will need a patient family who can offer grace with slow introductions and continue to teach him that the world is not such a scary place after all. Please consider opening up your heart and home to this handsome gentleman who just needs a second chance; he may be older but he has so much love to give.June 17, 2026, 7:42 pm

Story
Name: Sam Age: Adult / DOB 3/14/2019 Weight: 12 lbs Gender: Male Breed: Flame Point Siamese  Coat Length: Short  Color: Orange  Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Child friendly: Older children who respect his boundaries  Litter Box Trained: yes Temperament: Gentle, sensitive, affectionate, cautious in new situations Energy Level: Low Adoption Fee: $150 +tax   To adopt, go to: www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html   From the Foster Family: Sam is a sweet, gentle soul with a quiet heart. After losing his beloved person, he's taking things one day at a time and learning to trust again. He may be shy at first, but with patience, soft scratches, and a good brushing, his affectionate personality begins to shine. Sam is looking for a calm home where he can feel safe, loved, and cherished once more.   From Sam: My world suddenly changed when my person passed away. Since then, this nice lady has given me a safe place where I can grieve, decompress, and learn to trust new people again.  I've met the other cats that live here. They seem okay. Well... except for the orange one. He gets a little cranky with the lady sometimes. There is also a really big cat here. At least I think it's a cat. It smells me a lot, but I don't mind it.  I enjoy having cozy places to curl up and sleep. The lady has given me lots of options, but my favorite spot is in the cat tower where I can keep an eye on everything while staying comfortable.  There are plenty of toys around, although I haven't felt much like playing yet. Maybe someday.  I prefer scratches over pets. My favorite spot is right above my tail. If you bring out a brush, you've pretty much won me over. I could spend hours stretched out getting brushed. T he lady tried putting me on her lap once. I quickly informed her that wasn't part of my current life plan. I hopped right down, but I stayed nearby so she could keep brushing me.  I think I would do best in a quieter home. Sudden movements and lots of activity can still startle me. I'm looking for someone who will let me adjust at my own pace and understand that trust takes time.  The lady says I have my days and nights mixed up. I'm not sure what she means. I simply prefer working the night shift. While she and the really big cat sleep, I patrol my room and make sure everything stays exactly where it belongs.   If you're patient, gentle, and willing to let me be myself, I think we might become very good friends. Story
*NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION YET - ADOPTION WINDOW TO COME WHEN READY* Hi! I am Clara - a young most likely Siamese beauty. I came to the shelter in urgent need of help with my 2 other siblings. Despite all of my shelter family's efforts plus the vets, my siblings didn't make it. Of course this is deeply saddening. My shelter family is helping me through that loss. I came in need of medicine to help with an upper respiratory infection. I acquired previous to my stay at the shelter. I am found g much better and am gaining weight like a champ! Much of my personality remains to be unknown but I am vocal, playful and energetic. I will be spayed when I am old enough and I am up to date on my age appropriate vaccines. I was tested for FIV/ Feline Leukemia and am negative for both. It is recommended I am tested again once I am older (6m to 1 year old). I receive routine flea and tick preventatives, monthly as well as some well deserved pampering periodically: brushing, nail trims & ear cleaning. My ideal home includes a home where I can get lots of attention. I am still very young so I am still impressionable. I do not know how I would do with dogs. I would do best in a home with kids who understand boundaries. I need a family that is caring, compassionate and loving. I want a family that is patient, willing to give me what I need: a warm bed, plenty of good food & clean water, and lots of pets and love. My shelter family works tirelessly to ensure I and my friends go to the right family. If you feel that person is you, I'd love to meet you. Please submit an application if you'd like to be considered becoming my family!

Story
Hi! I am Snowball I am a young 2 year old flame point Siamese, however it is likely that I am a domestic shorthaired mixed with Siamese as well. My life started as a farm kitty who just needed more. i came to the shelter with my baby, Honey. We both came in need of help regarding our eyes and we both had upper respiratory infections. My shelter family went to work and got us on medications and we are doing better every day. My personality is one that is very quiet, very reserved and I prefer to keep to myself. I am most likely not a kitty that will come to you wanting affection BUT I love receiving all of the love. I enjoy being pet, talked to and being in good company. I do not care for a lot of noise or activity so a quieter, calmer home would be best for me. I will be spayed in due time and I am up to date on my age appropriate vaccines. I was tested for FIV and Feline Leukemia. The test was negative for both. The shelter vet advises to retest in 6 months to a year. I receive routine flea and tick preventatives, monthly as well as some well deserved pampering periodically: brushing, nail trims & ear cleaning. My ideal home includes a home where I can get lots of love but also be able to exist and do my own thing. I do not know how I would do with dogs. I would do best in a home with older kids who understand boundaries and are more quiet and lower energy.
