These animals are not located in any of the Society`s physical locations. As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form. *** My dog`s name is Winston, and he is a maltipoo who is 10 yrs old going to be 11 this year. Hes been around a cat previously for 5 years and they got along well. He hasn’t been around a lot of toddlers. He needs a lot of attention and would do well with someone who is retired or works from home. Both of my kids are grown and moved out and I’m taking care of my mother who has Alzheimer’s by myself now. I don’t have the bandwidth to give him the attention he deserves and that’s why I’m looking for a home for him. He’s only 7 pounds and a lot of fluff so he can run in between your legs so not good for someone who can trip easily. He is a lap dog and is perfectly content just cuddling with someone. He does have a high-pitched bark and loves to talk when he’s excited. He is neutered and up to date with all shots. He did have bladder stones and he’s on a vet px diet and is due for his 4-month checkup to see if he has any left which I’m taking him to in another week. He just had a checkup, and his teeth cleaned end of last year. He’s in good health and very friendly. He doesn’t like to be on his back, so you have to hold him like a football but loves to be in someone’s arms. He is crate trained, and pee pad trained. I keep a pad in the bathroom for him in case, but he will go outside if you take him out regularly and as soon as he’s done eating. For adoption information, please email momi1600@gmail.com.

Story
Teddy is a beautiful full breed Lhasa Apso. Ivehad him since he was 10 weeks old. I purchased him from a breeder. He has allergies and social anxiety but other than that he is healthy. He likes to go for walks, eat, rest and cuddle. He is very smart and sweet. He does not trust children so its not wise to have him around anyone under the age of 12. He is house trained, protective, and likes to be mentally stimulated or he gets bored. He needs to be groomed regularly. He is not very active and keeps to himself mostly. Im looking for someone older, patient, retired or works from home, and familiar with the breed. Teddy could live past 20 if taken care of properly. If you are looking for a buddy and you have the time and patience, maybe you should meet Teddy.

Squash is at our Bucktown Adoption Center (2144 N. Wood St.) You can visit our Adoption Center anytime during open hours, no appointment needed. Squash is: Neutered: Yes! Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized More about Squash: Housebroken: Doing well overall! Crate trained: Squash does best free-roaming in a safeguarded (no access to stairs, trip hazards etc) space when home alone. Leash walking: He has seemed fearful on leash and would likely do best with access to a fenced yard Dog social: He lives with respectful dogs in his foster home and has done well in co-existing peacefully with them Cat social: Unknown Kid friendly: Unknown, but he may be most comfortable with slightly older kids given his limited vision Squash likes: - Napping in a cozy spot - Snacktime - Building trust with his people Squash is a super laid back guy, but is still adjusting to all of the newness around him...and to navigating the world with limited vision. He is very sweet and working hard to open up as he acclimates to his new environment, and would appreciate a patient adopter who can help him along the way! Squash has been diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease, which is a chronic disease that will likely require lifelong medication to manage it. He had his right eye removed while in our care, and is suspected to have little or no vision in his remaining left eye.
