Story
Snow is a 6-year-old maltese x shihtzu who has already experienced the heartbreak of losing multiple homes and is now searching for the stable, loving family he has always deserved. He is a sensitive, gentle boy who is quite fearful right now after everything he’s been through, but with patience, kindness, and a calm environment, he has the potential to truly blossom and learn to trust again. Snow would thrive best in a quiet, adult-only home and is okay with other dogs, making him a wonderful companion for someone who understands that love sometimes takes time.

Story
Noah is a puppy known as a Malchipoo, a maltese/chihuahua and Poodle pup. He is a loving little guy who will start out a bit shy. He was born in a commercial breeding facility and dogs not have the same puppy experiences a dog might have that was born in your home. He wasn't exposed to the same things at an early age. That being said, he is learning and adjusting well now that he is with us. He is a happy guy who loves to play with his mates. He will need house training and regular training like any puppy would. He is best suited for a home rather than an apartment or condo setting. Noah is a little guy causing him to be more fragile, He can't be in a home with little kids but would be fine with older kids. Like all puppies, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all puppies—not only to give Noah important learning skills, but because you and your puppy will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Noah is fully vetted. He has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption donation is $600..00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Liam wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a very flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in and to the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate, please fill out an application for adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/adoption We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. Simon Was Born In A Puppy Mill. Thankfully, the breeder didn't have use for him giving Simon a chance out of the mill. We took him and now he is free to find his forever committed family. Simon is a very happy active spirited dog . He is high energy and a vocal fellow if he isn't getting what he wants! He will do best in a home with a yard, not an apartment or condo setting. Simon is happy to have a companion dog to play with. He is fine with cats and all people. Simon needs to learn house manners. He has the basic skill but needs to be set on a routine. A belly band will be a good tool to keep him in check. He and his family would also benefit from a training class. Like all dogs he will need structure and a patient loving home. Story
Crimson is being fostered in VA. Crimson is blind and has kidney disease. Crimson Update – April 1, 2026: Crimson has settled into his foster home, making friends with his foster parents and the four other blind dogs who live in the home. He now knows all about evening sofatime with his foster mom and the other pups, and, after a belly and head rub, takes a nap. He is doing a great job learning to go up and down the two steps from the deck into the yard and then back into the house again. And, with the warmer weather, he likes to take a quick roll in the grass when he goes out to do his business. Crimson does have dry eye now, so is on daily Optimmune (eye ointment). He does a very good job at medication time. For more information about this sweet boy, read what his foster home wrote about him in February 2026. See below. Crimson is a friendly little guy who loves belly rubs! If you would like to know more about this special pup, read on! Crimson is from Florida. His family could no longer care for him and so they turned him over to the Blind Dog Rescue Alliance. He traveled to his Virginia BDRA foster home in January 2026 and made friends all along the way. Crimson has settled into his foster home quite well! There are four other blind dogs in the home and Crimson gets along just fine with each of them. He is happy to share a bed and doesn’t mind if a dog bumps into him. He ignores the family cat. At night, he settles easily into his bed and sleeps through the night. He is housetrained – not a single accident yet! He has a deep bark and, when he first arrived, he barked fairly often but now that he is learning the routine, he barks only occasionally (usually when anticipating a meal!). As mentioned, he loves belly rubs and he enjoys head rubs too. He also likes toys. Crimson is blind, diagnosed with SARDS several years ago. SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) is a condition that causes rapid and irreversible blindness due to changes within the retina. In addition, he arrived at his foster home with ear infections that are in the process of being treated. He hears well though and he doesn’t let his blindness bother him at all. His eyes are currently healthy although he does have some clear discharge at times. Crimson also has been diagnosed with kidney disease/kidney failure along with high blood pressure. He is on a prescription kidney diet (Purina) and also on Benazepril twice a day. We don’t know all the details about Crimson’s medical history before he arrived at his foster home and – as is true with any rescue dog – we can’t predict what the future holds for his health. Anyone interested in adopting Crimson should first speak with their vet about canine kidney disease so there is an understanding of this disease, its progression, and how it is treated. Crimson has not spent time with children and, although he is such a nice dog, he should be adopted into a home with older children or adults only. And he should always be supervised when he is with young children, as all dogs should be. If you think you can provide this sweet, gentle dog the wonderful forever home he deserves, complete an application today! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

This darling little girl was surrendered after her family could no longer care for her.    She is a 1-2  year old Maltese mix that weighs just under 10lbs. She is currently a little underweight and can use some extra 'groceries'.   She previously lived with kids and is in a foster home with other dogs and loves attention!  We recommend training for all our dogs!     **Breed or size (once fully grown) is a 'best guess' and is not guaranteed since they arrived into rescue without either parent. **Magnificent Mutts is an all foster home based rescue and meets are held by appointment with the entire family in attendance. Please ensure your current pets are up to date with vetting, have landlord/HOA approval and are prepared to take your new family member home at the adoption appointment.  Thank you for your interest!                             If you are interested in adoption, please complete the "Application to Adopt" which can be accessed from this link: (     www.magnificentmutts.org )  No phone calls please, emails only. She is a spunky 1-2  year old Maltese mix that weighs just at 10lbs. She is currently recovering from a foreign body surgery she had on 5/10. Coco is so playful and an absolute lover! She will become your little shadow. She is crate trained!!! Sleeps through the night no problem. Fully house trained as well!  She loves to play and chase after toys, and very into fetch! She’s a snuggle bug. She loves to lay with you and sit in your lap. She is great with other dogs, and uses her whole voice to say hello!!! I think she’d be great with kids. Cats could go either way!  We recommend training for all our dogs!     **Breed or size (once fully grown) is a 'best guess' and is not guaranteed since they arrived into rescue without either parent. **Magnificent Mutts is an all foster home based rescue and meets are held by appointment with the entire family in attendance.
