Meet Jake! Affectionately known as “Jake from State Farm,” this 14-year-old Silky Terrier still has plenty of personality, pep, and love to give. Don’t let his age fool you—Jake enjoys walks, playtime, cuddles, and being right in the middle of whatever his people are doing. ​ Jake is a social little guy who thrives on companionship and would love a home where someone is around often. He has a bit of FOMO and simply wants to be included in daily life. Once he feels comfortable, his playful and affectionate side shines through, and he quickly settles into being a loyal little shadow. ​ He would do best with patient, dog-savvy adopters who understand that while Jake is sweet, he can also be sensitive when feeling stressed or restrained. He may react when picked up unexpectedly or during grooming and vet handling, so respecting his boundaries and helping him feel secure is important. ​ Jake has lived successfully with a cat and is a bonded pair with Luna Bee. His interactions with dogs are still being evaluated, though he can be reactive around them. A calm home with respectful older children could be a good fit for him. ​ Like many senior dogs, Jake does have some ongoing medical needs, including a prescription urinary diet, regular grooming, dental care, and monitoring for mild heart disease and previous urinary issues. Despite this, he remains happy, engaged, and full of life. ​ Jake is looking for someone who will embrace both his quirks and his charm—a patient, loving home where he can spend his golden years feeling safe, included, and adored. ​ Jake is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

Meet Panda! Little Panda is around 4 years old and came to us with his friend Alexander. They did not come from a loving home but they are adjusting well in their foster homes.  Panda is a friendly boy. He loves people, loves attention and is very affectionate. He gets along well with other dogs but has not met a cat. He will do best in a home with older kids (12 and up). Panda is an energetic boy who loves his walks. He is not a couch potato though he can relax alongside you just fine. He does not like to be alone - which is not uncommon for rescue dogs. They are a bit unsettled and that can cause some attachment to humans he likes. He can learn to spend time alone here and there. He can bark at times and for this reason is not suitable for apartment living. He is working on potty training - he did not learn this in his previous home - and his foster mom is working hard to help him understand. He is catching on an doing well.  Panda is scheduled to be vaccinated, neutered and chipped. Meet Gidget! Hello! I’m Gidget, a 2-year-old cutie pie.  I started my life in a hoarding situation where I lived outside with lots of other pups. But I’ve now discovered the great indoors and creature comforts are my jam! I quickly mastered a number of basic commands for inside the house and last week I taught myself to retrieve toys. So smart! And I’m definitely potty trained. I LOVE walks and prance with pride in my neighborhood. My ears bounce with joy with each step! I’m just so happy to get outside for whatever kind of walk you’re up for. I’m not comfortable going to all the fun places you go yet, but I’m ok just hanging back at home alone or in a crate (where I sleep right now). I absolutely love my humans and become very attached. I love kisses, hugs, belly rubs…you get it. I can be a real cuddle monster and will even follow you around the house. I would love to sleep on your bed if that’s ok with you!  So now that you know lots of good stuff about me, here’s some stuff I’m working on. I need your love and patience as I work through some fears . I’m a little nervous with dogs and people on walks and sometimes I bark or growl, but I respond well to verbal corrections. When I get overwhelmed in the house with new people I forget my manners and can get nippy. If you help me stay calm and let me get to know people at my own pace, I’ll learn to be more confident. Children would not be a good fit for me. At least for a little while, I’ll do best hanging out in my crate or pen when people visit. I am currently living with 2 small dogs, but cats are an unknown. I’m a diamond in the rough and with training and patience, I will be your best friend.  Gidget is vaccinated, spayed and chipped.
