Story
Meet Jake! Affectionately known as “Jake from State Farm,” this 14-year-old Silky Terrier still has plenty of personality, pep, and love to give. Don’t let his age fool you—Jake enjoys walks, playtime, cuddles, and being right in the middle of whatever his people are doing. Jake is a social little guy who thrives on companionship and would love a home where someone is around often. He has a bit of FOMO and simply wants to be included in daily life. Once he feels comfortable, his playful and affectionate side shines through, and he quickly settles into being a loyal little shadow. He would do best with patient, dog-savvy adopters who understand that while Jake is sweet, he can also be sensitive when feeling stressed or restrained. He may react when picked up unexpectedly or during grooming and vet handling, so respecting his boundaries and helping him feel secure is important. Jake has lived successfully with a cat and is a bonded pair with Luna Bee. His interactions with dogs are still being evaluated, though he can be reactive around them. A calm home with respectful older children could be a good fit for him. Like many senior dogs, Jake does have some ongoing medical needs, including a prescription urinary diet, regular grooming, dental care, and monitoring for mild heart disease and previous urinary issues. Despite this, he remains happy, engaged, and full of life. Jake is looking for someone who will embrace both his quirks and his charm—a patient, loving home where he can spend his golden years feeling safe, included, and adored. Jake is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

Rita is an adorable, friendly, spunky little 7lb bundle of joy! She gets along with anyone and everyone. She loves to give kisses and be as close to her humans as possible at all times! She is pretty high energy and would do best with a young, active owner commited to getting this girl exercise and socialization. She would not do well at home alone all day while her owner is at work, for example. Rita is located in Houston TX and will not be transported until she is adopted. The adopter is responsible for paying for her transport in addition to the adoption fee. The adoption fee is $850. The first step is to fill out an application at www.recycleddogsrescue.org No inquiries will be responded to - only completed applications.

Meet Taro – VANCOUVER!!! A Gentle, Affectionate Companion Looking for a Loving Home   Name: Taro Age: 7 years old Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Shih Tzu / Poodle Mix Weight: 5.4 kg (11.9 lbs) Height: 33 cm (13 in) Color: Gray and White   Rescue Story   Taro was found alone in his home after his owner passed away. Despite losing the person he loved, Taro has remained incredibly sweet, trusting, and affectionate.   Personality with People   Taro is an extremely friendly and affectionate little dog who loves human companionship.   He warmly approaches both familiar people and complete strangers, rubbing up against them for attention and happily accepting pets. He is comfortable with both men and women and has done well with children under 13 years old.   Taro is easy to handle and can be picked up by placing an arm under his belly. Once he bonds with you, he will happily roll over and show his tummy for rubs.   Social with Other Dogs   Taro will politely greet other dogs but is not particularly interested in playing with them. He tends to do best with calm dogs of a similar size.   If approached by very large or high-energy dogs, he may growl out of fear. Overall, Taro is much more people-oriented than dog-oriented.   Cats   Taro lived alongside cats in the shelter.   Energy Level   Taro has a low energy level and enjoys relaxing quietly by his person’s side. He would be a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm and easygoing dog.   Walking   Taro is an experienced walker who follows his handler nicely and does not pull on the leash.   House Manners   Taro has excellent manners:   No resource guarding with people or other dogs Rarely barks Settles quickly when left alone Comfortable in a crate Uses both pee pads and goes outside, though he prefers outdoor potty breaks   He may whine briefly when he sees people, but he calms down quickly.   Ideal Home   Taro would thrive in a home looking for a calm, affectionate, and low-maintenance companion. He enjoys human attention, gentle walks, and cozy naps.   After losing his owner, Taro deserves a second chance with a family who will cherish him and give him the love and stability he deserves. Story
Meet Flash! Hi there! My name is Flash, and I’m a 10-year-old, 12-pound Lhasa Apso (or something close to it!) with a big personality packed into a little body. I’m a social guy who truly loves everyone I meet—no warm-up period needed! I’ve been around children ages four and up and do great with them. In fact, one of my favorite parts of the day is when the kids get home from school—I get so excited to see them and join in on the fun! I’m a well-mannered gentleman with great house habits. I’m house trained and prefer lounging on my cozy dog bed over spending time in a crate. I walk nicely on a leash and really enjoy getting out for strolls where I can take my time sniffing, exploring, and checking out the world around me. I even like water, so maybe there are some beach adventures in my future! When it comes to other dogs, I do best with calm, respectful companions. Dogs that are too dominant or “in your face” can make me a little nervous, so I’d love a laid-back canine friend—or to be your one and only. My vision isn’t perfect, but don’t worry—I get around just fine! I may see shadows here and there, but I navigate my world confidently and don’t bump into things. I’m neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped, so I’m all set for my next chapter. If you’re looking for a sweet, friendly, easygoing companion to share your days with, I might just be your guy. I came into rescue after a nice lady kept seeing me tied up outside a local tire shop. I would just lay on the concrete all day. My new people talked the owner of the tire shop into letting me have a better life by finding a new family. That was no way for me to live. Interested in adopting Flash? Please email adopt@thezoeygroup.com for more information and application details.
