Story

5 yr old purebred Silky terrier, about 8 pounds. Cooper is a delightful, happy dog with an exceptionally sweet temperament. An owner surrender due to a death in the family, he had an amazing, fulfilled life, and shows it. A true terrier, Cooper is energetic, loving, prey-driven, sometimes loud, a little sneaky (I didn't do it, Mom!) Beautiful, proudly high-stepping, brave, agreeable and an amazing, loving companion. Great on a leash, he loves to run, play and be active, but his very favorite activity is cuddling, lap time, snuggling and wagging his whole body. He loves all people and is good with dogs. Cats? Unknown, but he's a terrier. Barks loudly at door knocks, squirrels and unexpected noises, but he is mostly a calm, quiet boy. Cooper has some separation anxiety and is okay in a car but not thrilled with it. He will need regular grooming, exercise and lots of love. Be prepared for strangers who will stop you and admire him. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
