Story
Fender came to Hero Dog Rescue after his owner went into Hospice, and his family didn’t want him. When he was rescued, Fender was in a pretty rough spot—he had a double ear infection, several rotten teeth, his fur was matted, and his nails were so long that he couldn’t walk without pain. He looked and smelled like The Swamp Thing!
Fast forward a few weeks in loving foster care, where he got grooming, dental cleaning with six extractions, antibiotics, and a neuter, and guess what? Swamp Thing, no more! Fender is now a happy, healthy, and handsome gentleman.
If you’re looking to RESCUE an older dog and give him the pampering he deserves in his Golden Years, Fender is the perfect match. He’s low-energy, great with dogs and kids, eats-sleeps-poops-snuggles like clockwork, and is crate and house trained.
His most amazing qualities are his super-sweet personality and ZERO fur-shedding!
He’s guaranteed to melt the heart of the lucky person who adopts him.
Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.
Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.
Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
