You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Olympia is a 14-pound Morkie with a big heart and a silly streak. She’s cautious at first, especially about being picked up, but once she feels safe, her affectionate and goofy side shines through. She loves being around people and other dogs, and while new environments can be intimidating, the dog park has already proven to be her happy place—she was thrilled to meet all the little dogs and make new friends. Her favorite pastimes include chewing on bones, carrying around little dog stuffies, and snuggling with both pups and people. Olympia is also known for her hilarious habit of dragging clothing to new spots in the house, adding her own touch of mischief to daily life. Wrestling with dog friends and playing tug games are some of her favorite ways to burn off energy before curling up for cuddles. She’s still working on potty training and leash skills, so a fenced yard is important for her safety. Crate training is a work in progress, but she’s learning quickly. Olympia knows basic commands like “Come,” “Outside,” and “Go Potty,” and she’s eager to keep building her confidence with patient guidance. This gentle, playful girl thrives with another dog in the home and will blossom in a family that gives her time, love, and encouragement. Once she’s comfortable, Olympia is a snuggly, silly companion who will bring joy and laughter to her forever home. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Denver is an 11-pound Shih Tzu with a calm, quiet nature and a heart full of sweetness. He’s the kind of companion who may not always curl up right next to you, but he’ll happily stay close by, keeping you company in his own gentle way. Still a little skittish, Denver is learning to trust more each day and has recently started taking treats by hand—a big step for this thoughtful boy. He enjoys leisurely walks, investigating his surroundings, and the occasional play session with toys before settling in for a nap. Denver is crate trained, does well on a leash, and has basic training under his belt. Potty training is nearly there with a good schedule, and he’s proven himself to be a fast learner—he’s already mastered going up and down stairs. Denver’s personality is even-tempered, gentle, and independent, making him a wonderful fit for a quieter home. He would do well in an apartment or with seniors, and his hypoallergenic coat is a bonus for allergy-sensitive families. While cautious with new people, he adapts with patience and consistency, and his affectionate side shines through once he feels secure. This adaptable little gentleman is ready to find his forever family. Denver may be reserved at first, but he’s a “Good Boy” through and through, and he’ll bring calm companionship and quiet joy to the lucky home that welcomes him. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to the Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) on Sunday, December 7th from 10:30-11:30 am. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.       Gravy is the perfect little scoop of comfort—warm, smooth, and happiest when he’s poured right at your feet. He’s a gentle, sweet-natured pup who likes to pretend he’s shy at first, but really he’s just deciding where to place his future favorite nap spot… which is probably wherever you are. He adores other dogs and thinks having a canine buddy is pretty much the best thing ever. He naps with them, follows them around, and occasionally tries to convince them he’s faster than he actually is. He’s also great with older kids who understand that small dogs aren’t indestructible, even if they bounce like rubber balls when they’re excited. Gravy is a champion sleeper and snoozes beautifully in his crate—especially if you let him sleep nearby so he can keep tabs on you. During the day, he happily settles for little naps with the other dogs, and he doesn’t mind hanging out in his crate for short stretches when needed. Potty training is still a work in progress, but he has mastered the art of backyard potty breaks and is learning that the leash is not, in fact, a noodle monster. He’s playful, affectionate, gentle, skittish in a cute baby-deer-on-ice way, and always ready to offer a soft little tail wag as encouragement. Gravy is loyal, loving, and just waiting to become someone’s constant companion and cozy little shadow. If you’re searching for a happy, bouncy pup who wants nothing more than to be your devoted, fuzzy sidekick, Gravy is ready to bring a whole lot of love—and maybe some wiggles—into your home. **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! This fee must be paid within 24 hours, or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is to place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward.
