Hello! I`m a cheerful young dog who loves walks and dog toys. My favorite dog toys are those I can gnaw on all day long and those I can tear the stuffing out of. A good rubber bone is one of life`s finest things! Also, I`ve done well with other dogs in the past. As a big puppy who doesn`t know his size, sometimes I get a little too jumpy in my enthusiasm. With a sufficient outlet for my energy and some training on my people skills, I`m sure I could be the dog of your dreams! Ash is a beautiful six-and-a-half-year-old female Saint Bernard with a heart as big as her fluffy paws. Back in the care of Big Hearts for Big Breeds, this gentle girl can be a little shy at first, but with patience and a safe, loving environment, she has the opportunity to blossom into a wonderful companion. Ash would do best in a calm, predictable home with older children ages 12 and up who understand and respect a dog’s boundaries. She appreciates having the time and space to settle in at her own pace, and a family who understands that trust is built through patience and kindness will give her the best chance to feel comfortable and secure. Ash does chase cats, so a home without cats is recommended. Her compatibility with other dogs is still being evaluated, as limited interactions have suggested she may be reactive. We’re continuing to learn more about her needs and will share updates as we get to know her better. This sweet Saint Bernard deserves a soft place to land, a family willing to let her move at her own pace, and a peaceful home where she can feel safe and loved. If you have a calm household and room in your heart for a big, fluffy girl who deserves a fresh start, Ash may be the companion you’ve been waiting for.

In her previous home, Traviesa was good with large dogs, small dogs, and was described as being a good protector to the owner’s grandchildren. She also enjoyed car rides. She also spent some time in a foster home. In the middle of an Arizona summer, with temperatures hitting 115°, Bennett was being passed between a group of unhoused people trying to keep this big puppy alive. They told us what Bennett had been through before he ended up with them. They knew the streets were no place for him, and despite having very little themselves, they wanted something better for this dog. So we took him in. Our community helped us raise the funds to get Bennett into a board-and-train program with our friends at Inertia Canine, and this boy has absolutely BLOSSOMED. Bennett is goofy, affectionate, great with people, and great with dogs big AND small. He’s learning how to be a polite inside dog, how to play, swim, and even how to enjoy full off-leash freedom. At around 65–70 lbs, Bennett is going to be the ULTIMATE adventure dog. Hiking, road trips, exploring, lake days, weekends away… this is the dog you bring along for all of it. He is neutered, vaccinated, medically cleared, and ready for his person. Our biggest goal is to find Bennett’s adopter while he is still with his trainer, so his new family can work directly with them and have his follow-up lessons transitioned straight into his new home come the beginning of October!
