Mud is a two-year-old Saint Bernard with a heart as big as his paws and a personality that wins over everyone he meets. This handsome boy is the definition of a gentle giant, bringing smiles wherever he goes with his playful spirit, sweet nature, and unmistakable Saint Bernard charm. Now in the care of Big Hearts for Big Breeds, Mud has proven to be an exceptional companion. He is wonderful with kids, loves people, gets along great with other dogs, is good with cats, and has even done well around farm animals. If you're looking for a dog who fits right into family life, Mud checks just about every box. Mud is kennel trained, potty trained, and enjoys spending time with his people, whether that's joining in on adventures or simply relaxing at home. He can get a little enthusiastic on leash and may pull at times, but with continued practice and consistency, he'll continue polishing his walking manners. True to his breed, Mud is affectionate, loyal, and always ready to make a new friend. He's the kind of dog who turns ordinary days into better ones just by being there. If you're looking for a fun-loving, family-friendly Saint Bernard with a heart of gold, Mud is ready to fill your home with laughter, slobbery kisses, and unconditional love. Big Hearts for Big Breeds can't wait to help this incredible boy find the forever family he's been waiting for.

Story
Dirt is a 12–18-month-old Saint Bernard who is still growing into both his giant paws and his confidence. Now safe with Big Hearts for Big Breeds, this handsome young boy is looking for a patient family that will help him continue learning that the world is a safe place. Like many young Saint Bernards, Dirt has a gentle heart and a thoughtful nature. He does well with children and has shown himself to be non-reactive around other dogs. His compatibility with cats is currently unknown as we continue to learn more about him. Dirt can be shy and nervous around men when first meeting them, but with patience and kindness, he warms up and begins to show his sweet personality. True to his Saint Bernard roots, he also has a protective nature and appreciates slow, respectful introductions to new people entering the home. Once he understands that everyone is a friend, he settles in nicely. As a young giant-breed dog, Dirt will benefit from continued socialization, structure, and positive experiences that help build his confidence. With the right guidance, he has all the makings of a loyal, loving companion who will be deeply devoted to his family. If you're looking for a young Saint Bernard with a heart of gold and are willing to give him the time he needs to blossom, Dirt may be the perfect addition to your family.

Story
Frida is a fun-loving sweetheart. She thinks she is a small dog trapped in a big dog body. She loves cuddling on the couch and snuggling with you in bed. She is very active if you bring her outside, but she loves to hold down the rugs and couch just as much. She is a fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and absolutely loves watching cartoons or playing fetch with her stick or ball. Frida is a water baby and will get in any body of water she can including the shower if you let her. This big sweetheart loves kids and attention. She is truly like Nana from peter pan and just wants to be loved.

Story
Most 80s babies will tell you that the “Land Before Time” series was a childhood staple, leaving us crying each time we watched the movie and the main character, Littlefoot, loses his family. Little Foot would eventually make his way back to them, making a group of friends along the way, including trusty Petrie. Petrie is a gentle, kindhearted, flying dinosaur who gains courage and confidence from his friends. Unlike the Petrie from the movie, our Petrie needs no help in the confidence department! This friendly, goofy baby loves, loves, loves people! Volunteers love him too, with one sharing:“I love Petrie! This tall, gangly boy is really just a big baby. He`s friendly and eager to go outside, and in the play yard is SO affectionate. He spends most of his time leaning on me, soaking up all the pets he can get, and even giving kisses. Petrie is a sweet and curious boy who I think will bond quickly with his forever person.”Petrie would like to meet any potential furry roommates before heading home to ensure a good fit. In “The land Before Time”, the Great Valley is an idyllic, lush environment where the animals live in peace and safety. Our Petrie is dreaming of his very own picture perfect home, complete with a family who will love him furever and adore him for always. Come meet this sweet boy today!

Story
Meet Darla, a seven-year-old, 75-pound St. Bernard mix. This gentle giant had a rough start. She was found tied up outside the Maricopa County shelter for hours in the blazing June heat. Understandably, she was scared and reactive at first, but with patience and kindness, Darla has begun to show her true, affectionate self. Darla may be nervous when meeting new people, but give her a little time, and you’ll be rewarded with loyal companionship and leaning hugs that might knock you off balance (literally!). She adores scritches and pets, especially when she can press in close. Darla prefers the solo spotlight and would do best as your one-and-only pet. She walks well on a leash, is easy to handle, and would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can feel safe and appreciated. Her $150 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. To meet Darla, call 602-971-1334 or stop by Thursday–Saturday, 11am–4pm.
