Story
Hello! This is Jacksen. He is a 2-3 year old St. Barnard mix with a very gentle spirit. He came from Texas like a lot of other dogs do. He was found wandering in traffic there with his brother and transferred up to Colorado. This guy is so gentle and very sensitive. He has a cat for a friend and they get along great. Jacksen does have some trauma that seems to make him skiddish around people he doesn’t know. He loves to go on walks and is learning how to pace himself . He does have a fear of vehicles which we are working through and hope to have him comfortable with getting into our truck via a ramp soon. He has a congenital slight misformed rear leg that he was born with. It doesn’t affect his activity level, running or playing. That said, this boy needs more exercise than we are able to give him as we are in the process of relocating to another state.

Story
Meet Strawberry Lemonade!Affectionately called Berries or Bear by her foster family. Her life now: Berries is a big lap dog. She loves getting attention from people and is very affectionate. She does well with meeting all people but due to her size and her mobility issues we have concerns about her living with young children. When she gets excited she can lose control of her movements and could be a hazard to young children or seniors. Due to this we think she would do best in a home without young children. Berries thrives on adventures. She loves to go for daily walks, hikes, or Sniffspots. She rides great in the car. She can be stubborn and pull on leash, and she is very strong, but for the most part she walks great on leash and likes to sniff and see all the sights. She would do best in an active household but not too active. A mile or maybe two is perfect for this girl. She is potty trained. She free roams while her foster family is out of the house and is a perfect angel. She does live with other dogs and loves to have a play mate but she can be dog selective so she is not a dog park dog. She is on the smaller side for a Saint Bernard weighing 110lbs. She would ideally live in a home with out a lot of stairs. She can do stairs but it is hard for her and she doesn’t like when she has to do more than 3 or 4 at a time. She does need to be monitored going down more than a few stairs. She also needs assistance getting into and out of the car. She does not require a sling or a ramp and it is fairly easy to assist her when needed. She will most likely need more assistance in her senior years where a ramp might come in handy. Where she came from: this St Bernard girl was found atop a mountain pass above Lukachukai AZ, starving, unable to walk and with five tiny newborn babies. She gave everything she had keep her babes alive and did an amazing job! After her rescue and during the course of rehabilitation, it became apparent that her inability to walk wasn’t just malnutrition and muscle atrophy. We did full body X-rays to make sure nothing was broken and found that she was not broken. Then Berries was seen at CSU neurology where an MRI was completed. There, she was diagnosed with Cerebellar Hypoplasia. This is a congenital disease where the cerebellum is malformed. The cerebellum is responsible for posture, balance, stability and fine motor skills. Bear is sometimes wobbly. She needs assistance on stairs and getting in and out of cars, however, she is a perfectly healthy dog otherwise. She is in no pain. There is no cure and there is no further treatment that can better her condition. The doctors have told us that she will likely live a completely normal life, with exception of some help climbing things, safety around water and things she could fall off of.Our Bear is the biggest sweetheart. She was an amazing mom to her babies and loved all of them fiercely. Her babes have all moved on to other fosters and are available for adoption as well! Berries is the best foster surrogate mom as well. She made two of our more recent foster puppies feel right at home. She loves little baby dogs. She acclimated quickly to our resident dogs and quickly claimed her place in the pack as if she’d been here forever. She loves to go for walks. She loves car rides. She loves adventures. Berries is fully potty trained and she sleeps on her dog bed all through the night. She walks amazing on leash. She is endearingly stubborn and sensitive and sweet. She is the best big girl ever. We think she is about 2 years old. We have loved every minute with her and are so happy to see her healthy and thriving.Bear has a disability but she is not at all unable. She is smart, strong and worthy of all the love in the world. She has survived unimaginable hunger, abandonment, abuse and uncertainty. She will make any adopter so lucky to share life with. Story
Meet Kira 💛 Kira is a truly special girl. She was born blind and bravely navigates the world one step at a time. Despite this, she is incredibly sweet with people and absolutely lives for belly rubs. Kira has done well living with a cat, but she struggles with other dogs. Because she can feel insecure around them—likely due to her blindness—she has been involved in a few scuffles. For her comfort and safety, Kira will do best as the only dog in the home. She walks nicely on a leash when wearing her gentle leader and is very responsive to commands, especially her “here” cue. While she does bump into things occasionally, Kira is smart, eager to listen, and gains confidence with reassurance. Kira has enjoyed outings to hospitals, hardware stores, and other public places, where she does wonderfully as long as she’s with people she knows and trusts. She also has experience around farm animals and pays them no mind at all. Breed experience is a plus. If you have a calm home, patience, and a big heart for a big special-needs dog, Kira would love to meet you. Apply today to give this amazing girl the safe, loving home she deserves. **Kira's adoption fee has been sponsored in full by a generous donor**

Story
Lollie is an absolute sweetheart who leads with love. She’s incredibly affectionate and has the cutest way of gently using her mouth to let you know what she wants—always soft, polite, and endearing. Lollie is a proud couch potato who enjoys her downtime and snuggles, but she’ll do best with continued engagement and gentle encouragement to keep her active and confident. She is fully potty trained, though like many dogs, she may need a few days of transition time in a new home to learn the routine and “ropes.” With consistency and positive reinforcement, she settles in beautifully. Lollie’s loving nature and calm presence make her a wonderful companion for someone ready to offer structure, patience, and lots of affection. Lollie is a 3-year-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $250 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX testing, and spay. Lollie is also tested with other dogs, children, and kennel trained. She is working on potty training in foster and is not tested with cats. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if she might be a good fit for your home. The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals. We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!) Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed. Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525). *We will not be hosting adoption events on Saturday, February 7 or 14. Instead, we are offering private adoption appointments to pre-approved applications February 2-15.* For additional questions regarding meeting this dog please contact us via text/email at 970.699.6772, or contact@bounceanimalrescue.org. We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to a high volume of inquiries, calls and voicemails regarding adoption will not be returned. Thank you for choosing adoption! Story
Meet your new life-of-the-party bestie 🎉🐾 This 1-year-old Anatolian mix is a giant baby in a 70 lb body and he is here to have a good time! Equal parts party animal and cuddle monster, he’s the kind of dog who will leap straight into your arms (yes, really) for affection and then flop dramatically for more love. Sweet doesn’t even begin to cover it. He adores other dogs and lives for playtime—running, wrestling, zooming, and making sure he’s right in the middle of all the action. He’ll happily wear himself out having fun and then settle in close, soaking up attention like the big love sponge he is. Because of his size and enthusiastic zest for life, he’s too large and exuberant for little kids, but he’d thrive with dog-savvy humans who appreciate a joyful, high-energy companion. Food? Obsessed. Treats? Yes please. Enrichment toys? Absolutely. And honestly, who doesn’t want peanut-butter kisses from a slobbery gentleman who gives 110% to everything he does?? He does have a prey drive, so he’s looking for a home without small animals. In return, he promises endless laughs, wholehearted love, and the kind of presence that makes every day feel a little more fun. If you’re ready for a big, goofy, affectionate dog who wants to be part of everything, this sweet party animal is ready to meet you. 🐶💛
