Story
Meet Beethoven! This handsome boy came to PA to leave his old life behind and start fresh searching for a new family to call his own! Beethoven is a guesstimated 5 yr old neutered male Saint Bernard mix weighing 126 pounds his vet said he’s at an appropriate weight now! He wont be happy when he cuts back on food  Beethoven loves people (big and small) and dogs however has not been cat tested. Beethoven has had a rough few months. Down south he was found with a bad injury to his paw (all healed now). He was neutered and treated for heartworm. If surviving heartworm wasn’t hard enough he was diagnosed with IMHA and fingerscrossed has beat that too! He has been off prednisone for two weeks and is doing great! Now that he isnt sick and isnt full of steroids we can start to see Beethovens true self! He is certainly a lover and loves scratches. He doesnt know how big he is and will get on your lap for attention. He walks well on a leash but has been reactive (barks) at times when he hears/sees dogs/people. And true to the breed he is stubborn   Have seen some resource guarding here and we are working with him on that. I think it has become less since being off prednisone and once he learns to trust you. He is house and crate trained and up to date on current vaccines and preventatives. For now he will be patiently waiting for his new family in Dillsburg PA. Apply at  https://www.pack9rescue.org/applications/ New Oxford PA 17350; LIC # 9736 We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs.  Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. Learn more about adopting from us or volunteering for us at www.pack9rescue.org or check us out on Facebook for more information and a complete list of dogs available for adoption.           https://www.facebook.com/PaCaringForK9s/ See upcoming events below where PA Caring for K9’s will be with some of our adoptable dogs!
