Story
Meet Rocky! 🐾 Rocky is a 1-5year old, lovable Saint Bernard mix with a gentle heart and a friendly personality. He is house-trained and truly enjoys being around people. Rocky has been around my two teenagers, including one with special needs, and has always been patient, kind, and loving with them. Rocky is very social and thrives on human companionship. He has lived with small dogs, but because he doesn’t always realize how big he is, he would do best in a home with larger dogs or as the only pet. He gets along well with others and just needs the right fit. He knows some basic commands and is eager to learn—he would do great with continued training and practice. Rocky would make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a loyal, affectionate companion. We are looking for a loving forever home where Rocky can get the attention, care, and space he deserves

Story
Benny is a 3-ish year old Saint Bernard with a heart as big as his paws. At 102 lbs (he needs to gain 10-15 more lbs), he’s a giant who believes personal space is overrated. Despite his size, Benny is convinced he’s a lap dog and is happiest when he is laying on top of you. He wants pets all the time and will paw you if you dare stop petting him. He’s the kind of dog who makes sure you’re never lonely. If you’re sitting, he’s touching you. If you stand up, he’s right behind you. Bathroom buddy? Of course. Cooking? Your supervisor is on duty next to you. Doing yard work? Don't worry, he will be laying at your side. He loves him walks and walks well without any pulling unless he sees a squirrel or another dog. He needs a strong handler and continued leash training since he currently barks and pulls to try to get to the other dog. Benny loves playing fetch, zooming around the yard. Benny is dog friendly but since he believes all personal space is his personal space, not every dog will appreciate his invasion of their space. This boy is extremely food motivated. All food is his favorite food, which makes him eager to please and will be great for continued training. He’s very tolerant of grooming and brushing (which is good, because he’ll need regular brushing to keep that gorgeous coat in check). As expected from his breed, Benny drools. A lot. If you believe slobber is a love language, you’ll fit right in. While he goes willingly into his crate and sleeps in it through the night and doesn’t attempt to claw his way out of it, he will bark his head off for a good while. Benny is dog friendly, kid friendly, NOT tested with cats (will chase on walks), up to date on vaccines, and neutered. He’s sweet, affectionate, and ready to be someone’s oversized shadow for life. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will love you with his whole (very large) body, Benny might just be your perfect match. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Meet Buddy – a big guy with an even bigger heart! This lovable lug is basically a 80-pound teddy bear covered in fur, with a tail that wags like it’s powered by joy alone. Buddy is the definition of friendly: he loves people, dogs, belly rubs, and anything that remotely resembles food. He might accidentally sit on your foot (or your lap), but it’s only because he’s convinced he’s a lap dog and also your new best friend. He’s on the lookout for a forever home where he can spread his love, show off his goofy grin, and maybe snore a little too loudly during naps. If you’re looking for a gentle giant who gives world-class hugs and never runs out of tail wags—Buddy’s your guy!    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
