Story
Hi there, Im Dewey! Im a 1-year-old, 60-pound Saint Bernard mix, and let me tell youIve got the big-dog looks with all the silly, bouncy energy of a puppy! I love to run around in the yard, chase toys, and play with my friends. After Ive had my fun, Im just as happy to curl up right next to you (because being your shadow is kind of my specialty).Im actually really easy to walkI enjoy strolling along by your side and taking in all the smells. But dont let my polite leash skills fool youI also LOVE to zoom and romp when I get the chance! Give me some room to stretch my legs, and youll see just how much fun I can have.A little about me: Car rides? Yes, please! Windows down, ears floppingthats my jam. Vacuums? Umm hard pass, thank you very much. Ive lived with dogs, cats, and kidsIm a friendly guy who just wants to be included. I would do best with large dogs, since I still don't always remember my size - I can sometimes be a rough player with smaller dogs.Im what they call a Velcro dog, which means wherever you go, Ill be right there, happily attached. I love learning new things and Im eager to please, so with a little time and training, Ill be the best boy you could ask for.If youre searching for a loyal, loving companion who will stick by your side through all of lifes adventures (and maybe hog a little space on the couch), I think wed be a perfect match. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Meet Buddy – a big guy with an even bigger heart! This lovable lug is basically a 80-pound teddy bear covered in fur, with a tail that wags like it’s powered by joy alone. Buddy is the definition of friendly: he loves people, dogs, belly rubs, and anything that remotely resembles food. He might accidentally sit on your foot (or your lap), but it’s only because he’s convinced he’s a lap dog and also your new best friend. He’s on the lookout for a forever home where he can spread his love, show off his goofy grin, and maybe snore a little too loudly during naps. If you’re looking for a gentle giant who gives world-class hugs and never runs out of tail wags—Buddy’s your guy!    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Brandon is a 5 1/2 year old St, Bernard mix. He is a gentle giant. He is a little standoffish when meeting a new person(s). He is very affectionate once he knows you. He loves rubs and scratches. Brandon loves going for walks and checking out the many play yards here at the ranch. He is very mellow. He would thrive in any size family. He follows commands and is eager to please. He loves his treats and is very gentle when taking them. He doesn't like cats. He is one of the sweetest loving dogs. Brandon is eagerly waiting for his forever home. ##1533014##
