Story
Meet Tiger, an energetic Staffy mix pup with a zest for life! Rescued along with his brother when they were just 7 weeks old, Tiger was found as a stray before being brought to the shelter. His brother has been adopted and Tiger is still looking for his forever home. Tiger is great with other dogs and thrives in a playful environment. He loves to play hard and has had some basic training, making him a fun and active companion. However, he’s not a fan of cats and would do best in a home without them. Tiger would be the perfect addition to a family with another active and playful dog or an active household that can keep up with his boundless energy. If you’re looking for a spirited and affectionate pup to join your family, Tiger might just be your new best friend!

Meet Salome, a vibrant and affectionate dog who’s ready to find her forever home. Salome is great with people and has a loving personality, but she’s very reactive to other dogs, so she would thrive in a home where she’s the only pet. Salome is house-trained and has no medical concerns. She was found as a stray and is now looking for a new family who can provide her with the love and care she deserves. She’s an adventurous spirit who loves exploring, going for walks, and hitting the trails for hikes. If you’re seeking a loyal and playful companion who will thrive in a dog-free environment, Salome is eager to share her zest for life and become a cherished part of your family.

Story
Meet Darcy Belle Staffordshire Bull Terrier Labrador Retriever mix  Hi there I’m Darcy Belle! I’m a very friendly girl when we first meet because I’m just so happy to be out of the shelter life! I am happiest in the company of some other dog friends, I’m even gentle at playing with smaller dogs too.  I am learning very quickly to do my business outside of the house but have the manners to use a pad if the stars don’t align. My recall is on point. I love to lay in the sunshine, play fetch (I’m a pro at bringing it back to you), & snuggling up with my people when I’m tired or when they are. I’m great in a crate & don’t have any problems hanging out in there when I need some alone time.  I have the silliest smile when I’m nervous but my foster mom calls it my brave face. I have so much love to give & a lot of life to live!  LOLA'S Rescue ##2698826##

Story
Birdie is a sweet momma who made her way to us from Texas after raising 10 babies, and it was clear she had given everything she had. She arrived completely emaciated, but despite that, her spirit never wavered. She is fun, funny, and incredibly sweet. One of her foster’s favorite moments was watching her discover herself in the mirror and bark like she had just met a new friend. It perfectly captures her goofy, endearing personality. Love, toys, and peanut butter seem to be her favorites, in that order!  She has done well with other dogs, though a thoughtful introduction is important. She would likely do best with a dog who matches her energy and respects her space. That said, she does not need another dog to be happy and would thrive soaking up all the love as someone’s one and only. Birdie has met several children, and wanted to play with every one of them! She doesn't quite realize her size so smaller kids could be pushed over from excitement if they are not sure on their feet yet. Birdie is crate-trained and housetrained! She sleeps in her crate all night without a peep. She's doing really well with leash training too, she is gentle and enjoys a leisurely walk with lots of sniffing stops.  After everything she has been through, Birdie deserves a home where she can finally be cared for, feel safe, and just enjoy being a dog. Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Sammy finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Sammy #5 | 10-week-old Staffie mix | Wiggly butt professional Sammy is an approximately 10-week-old Staffie mix weighing about 13 pounds, with a stunning brindle coat and adorable merle markings on his extremities. This happy little guy has quickly blossomed in foster care and is proving to be the perfect mix of playful puppy energy, cuddly sweetness, and easygoing charm. Like most puppies, Sammy is still figuring out the world around him. He’s doing well with kennel training, sleeps through the night in his crate, and is making progress with potty training — though his timing can still be hilariously unpredictable. He absolutely loves praise for going outside and is eager to learn, but consistency and patience will be important as he continues developing good habits. Sammy enjoys walks and does great on leash most of the time, though he occasionally shows off some puppy stubbornness, excited pulling, or nervous hesitation when faced with something unfamiliar. Thankfully, he is very food motivated, responds well to redirection, and is already showing how smart and trainable he can be. He has had positive interactions with dogs of all sizes as well as children both over and under 10 years old. Sammy loves toys, chew bones, car rides, frozen Kongs, lick mats, and pretty much any opportunity to snuggle up with his humans. He’s especially known for his hilariously wiggly little butt — sometimes it gets going so hard he nearly tips himself over. Sammy’s foster describes him as a versatile, affectionate puppy with an absolutely fantastic temperament. He would thrive with a family committed to continued training, socialization, and healthy boundaries, but beyond that, he is the kind of pup who could fit beautifully into almost any loving home. With his sweet personality, eagerness to learn, and endless charm, Sammy is going to make an incredible companion.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $475 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
