SPONSORED ADOPTION! Hiro has a chronic skin allergy that is managed with medication... but a generous donor has covered 2 years of post adoption care for Hiro's adopter! If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to visit with this animal or multiple animals, please email us at info@animalhope.org or call 817-984-1129 between 12 pm and 6 pm.Hello,Thank you so much for reaching out about our beloved Hiro—what a joy it is to know someone else sees the light in this special boy.Hiro is still available for adoption, and while his adoption fee is $300, we’re inviting adopters to name their own adoption fee. He’s been waiting over 380 days for his second chance, and what matters most to us is finding the right home where he’ll be truly cherished.Hiro’s story is one that touches everyone here at the shelter. He was adopted from us as a tiny puppy and spent his whole life with a loving family until a heartbreaking allergy diagnosis forced them to return him. Their baby developed a severe allergy to Hiro, and despite exhausting every option, they had to make the painful decision to say goodbye. They were absolutely devastated—and we could feel just how deeply they loved him.Since coming back to us, it hasn’t taken long to understand why. Hiro is truly one of a kind. He’s a big favorite among our staff with his sunny spirit and sweet demeanor. He keeps his kennel spotless, walks in and out like a perfect gentleman, and never fails to brighten our days. He’s in wonderful health aside from ongoing skin allergies. His previous family found that Apoquel combined with monthly allergy shots kept him comfortable. While we’ve continued with his shots and weekly medicated baths, we don’t currently have the funds to provide Apoquel. This has now been sponsored so he is back on Apoquel. With the right care—and a calm, loving home—Hiro would absolutely flourish again. And just a little fun fact: Hiro is completely peanut butter obsessed. Whether it’s a treat-stuffed toy or a smear on a spoon, if it tastes like peanut butter, he’s all in. His joy is contagious—seeing that tail wag over something so simple reminds us just how big his heart is.Hiro deserves more than a kennel—he deserves a home filled with love, comfort, and a few peanut-buttery indulgences now and then. If you feel like he might be the dog you’ve been waiting for, we’d love to talk more.Since we do not observe these animals in home settings, we cannot guarantee whether they are housebroken.Upon intake, we ensure the following:Spay/neuter proceduresMicrochippingAll vaccinationsBlood and fecal testing (and treatment if necessary)Flea, tick, and heartworm preventionA complimentary wellness exam, scheduled 7–10 days after adoptionPlease note, adopters must live within an hour of our facility and be at least 21 years old.Do you have any questions or would you like to schedule an appointment? 🐾✨

Story
Hello, My name is Shane, and I am writing you with a very heavy heart to ask for help in rehoming my dog, Lucy. I am a disabled veteran currently undergoing chemotherapy, and my declining health has made it physically hard for me to provide the care Lucy deserves. I am looking to rehome her as soon as possible. About Lucy: Breed: Tiger-striped Staffordshire Bull Terrier Age: 9.5 years old Appearance: Striking amber eyes and a gentle spirit. Temperament: Extremely calm, loves snuggling, and enjoys leisurely walks. Training: Lucy is my trained PTSD dog . She is exceptionally obedient and responds to basic conversational language. She knows commands for potty (on command), sit, stay, lay down, and high-five. She knows both in English and German commands. She was trained by my German friend who trained pitbull’s and me. House Manners: She is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and is not destructive. She does whine when you leave and is not afraid to tell you when she is hungry or ne

Story
This is Ollie Ollie was running down the road when I pulled over, opened the door, and he jumped in. Ollie is chipped but his registered owners denied ownership. I am reaching out to see if anybody feels like Ollie would fit in perfectly with their family. Ollie is a sweetheart. He definitely prefers the attention of people over other dogs. But when we are not present he is friendly with my older dog and playful with my puppy. He is very energetic lol He is house trained, crate trained, walks well on a leash, and will sit on command. unfortunately I can’t keep Ollie, I would if I could. And I would much rather he go to a loving home than a shelter. Please don’t be afraid to reach out with any questions! I only have a couple days and I have to take him to a shelter so this is urgent!

Story
Murdock is a 4 year old male who is a giant bundle of love. His size may be intimidating but he is a sweet boy who loves cuddles. He was rescued in Jacksonville, FL in December of 2021 and has been with his current owners since. He is very excited around new people and is a jumper/bouncer. he doesn't mind if you push him back. He is house and kennel trained and aside from some mild whimpering from sadness he is generally a pretty quiet boy. He has a sibling (Foggy) that I also rescued. They are the same age and co-dependent on one another. I would be giving up both dogs. Both are listed with in the pictures. Murdock is very curious towards other dogs but has been aggressive when meeting new dogs. Both male dogs have not been exposed to many other animals but after some introduction the initial aggression passes. Murdock loves today and to play but will defluff any stuffed toys. Would love to see Murdock and Foggy in a happy home that they deserve.
