Story
I adopted sienna from Grand Prairie animal shelter a year ago. She was malnourished at the time and was very timid. She turned into a playful, very energetic girl. She is the kind of dog that is very loving and follows you around the house everywhere you go just to be by you. I am having to rehome because my work schedule leaves her alone for 12 hours at a time. This is causing her to be very bored and chewing on things that she should not be chewing on, I’ve tried everything. I’ve provided multiple toys. I’ve tried the spray to keep her off of the things I don’t want her to chew on, but nothing is helping the boredom that she experiences being home alone for that long. when she was first adopted, there was always someone home but now it’s just me and she deserves more attention than what I can give her.

Story
I'm just a girl looking for love! My name is Darla and I'm hoping for my fairytale ending! I'm very pretty if I do say so myself. I'm affectionate and love to snuggle up with my person while watching a movie. I'm really good at cuddling up with my person at night too. I'm an active girl who likes walks, running around the yard, playing with my toys and taking car rides. I'm a big girl at 60+ pounds but I think I'm a lap dog-so beware, I might try to crawl onto your lap! I'm currently hanging out with my foster and another female dog who is smaller than me (she's an Australian Cattle dog mix). I don't know about other furry critters (like cats) and how I would be around them. We have wild rabbits where I live and I enjoy barking at them but who knows what I might do if there wasn't a fence between us! The fence is a metal fence so I can see out and it's about 4 feet tall but it might be a good idea to have a taller fence to be sure I can't jump over. I've learned to go potty outside and on my walks. It helps me to have a dog door so I can go outside when I need to and avoid accidents. I have some experience with crate training so please be patient and help me with that training. I've also been to school where I learned about the basics of sit, stay, heel, place, loose leash walking and I got to participate in group classes with other dogs of various sizes and breeds. I'm a good girl and I try really hard to do the right things but I'm still young and need positive reinforcement to help me get better at the tasks I've learned. I get very excited when my person comes home-I wag my tail side to side with such energy that my butt wiggles! My person and I live with an older person and I have to be careful not to paw at this older person or jump up on her. I do not have experience around kids so I think it would be best if my forever family has older children or no children. My favorite toys are by a brand called Tuff and I like them because they hold up to my vigorous play. I also enjoy chasing balls and toys that squeak and have some rope parts to play tug of war. Electronics are great fun to bark and bite - for example, the vacuum and the paper shredder. I'm still young and impulsive sometimes. I am a chewer so I need some positive correction on what I am allowed to chew on and what I should not chew on. Some things that help me with that issue are cow knee treats, using training treats to reward good behavior, antlers and buffalo horns and of course lots of exercise! I sometimes bark at people I know; I'm just trying to get their attention, but I will need help with correcting this behavior. Please take a chance on me! I'm a sweetheart and I'm smart and can learn to be your best companion. Darla is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Story
Jasmine, adopted from Houston's Barc shelter in 2020, is about 7 years old now, with an unknown past likely involving recent motherhood prior to being fixed. At home, she's a cuddle bug, especially with men, but is vocal around big trucks and strangers at the door. She greets visitors with enthusiasm, then quickly becomes submissive, rolling around playfully. She is a very high energy dog. I took her for walks everyday as well as some occasional runs. She can run very fast for a very long time, pulling most of the way. IMPORTANT: The reason why we are rehoming her is because she recently had an incident in which she bit a four year old child. We reported the bite and she spent 10 days in quarantine observation. After investigation she was approved for rehoming. Prior to that she has had several issues with dogs. She is considered a reactive dog, which means she should be kept away from all other dogs. She has not bitten another dog unprovoked, but has when she has felt threatened.

Story
Ari is around 7 months old, approx 25lbs and was spayed on 12/30/2024. She is a sweet girl with lots of energy and would love a house with a yard to run in. She loves her walks and is learning how to be better on a leash. She is fully potty trained and even goes to the door to let you know when it’s time to go out. Since she is was a few months old she has been a huge fan of her crate “bed” and sleeps all through the night quiet and comfortably, without a potty break, in her kennel. She is still learning to be meet new people or new dogs so she will require more in depth training to help socialize. She’s very excited to meet dogs so sometimes it can be overwhelming for older, smaller dogs. She is a sweet, natural, family guard dog who loves to be a part of a family unit. Her favorite place for a nap is curled up next to you on the couch. She loves rowdy playtime human playmates, so a family with either no children or older children (6 years old and up) would be best for Ari.
