Story
Fred came to us from a home where the owners were elderly and not able to take care of the dogs' basic needs. There were 6 total. He is estimated to be just under about 14-16-18 months old. He is housetrained and crate trained and great with other dogs. He is not nearly as nervous as the girls from this intake, but he did live with many other dogs and we think he would benefit from goign to a home either with another dog or a home where someone would be home a lot. He is learning to walk on the leash, but that was totally foreign to him previously, so he will need continued leash training. Fred is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. He is fostered in Sarasota and his adoption fee is $450. If you are interested in meeting him, please complete an adoption application at https://www.love4pawsfl.org/adopt. If you have applied with us previously, please send an email to Info@Love4PawsFL.org.

Story
Petunia came to us from a home where the owners were elderly and not able to take care of the dogs' basic needs. There were 6 total. She is estimated to be about 18 months old. She is housetrained and crate trained and great with other dogs. She is still nervous when meeting new people (as most of these dogs are). She lived with many other dogs previously, and because we want to keep her confidence growing, we would like for her to go to a home with another dog. She is learning to walk on the leash, but that was totally foreign to her previously, so she will need continued leash training. Petunia is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed. She is fostered in Sarasota and her adoption fee is $400. NAME:  Kip BREED:  Poodle/terrier mix SEX:  male COLOR:  cream/white AGE:  2 yrs as of Sept 2025 WEIGHT:  10 lbs FOSTERED BY: LOCATED IN: NOTES FROM FOSTER FAMILY: Meet Kip! Kip is a sweet, energetic, cozy-loving pup who’s all about the simple joys in life. He absolutely loves blankets and is happiest curled up on a blanket on the couch, taking a nap right next to his people. When it’s time for bath day, Kip is easygoing and doesn’t mind getting warm baths at all—he’s a very polite boy! When he’s not relaxing, Kip’s energetic side shines. He enjoys zoomies in the yard, a good game of fetch, chewing on bones, and playing with his toys—though fair warning: his toys need to be stuffing-less, because if there’s stuffing inside, Kip will happily pull it out. He also loves playing with other little dogs and is comfortable around big dogs. He does great sharing space with no food aggression or resource guarding, and Kip is great with kids, making him a wonderful family companion. Kip has been through a lot in his past, including being hit by a car, but you’d never know it—his injuries don’t slow him down or dampen his happy spirit at all. To help him feel his best during playtime, he may benefit from having carpet or rugs throughout the house so he has good traction while running and playing. After dinner, Kip’s favorite routine is winding down with a good brushing (especially when he’s tired), and he never misses a chance to bark at cows if any are nearby—it’s one of his favorite “jobs.” Kip would do wonderfully in a home that enjoys both playtime and cuddle time. If you’re looking for an energetic yet snuggly companion who’s equally happy fetching a ball or snoozing on a blanket, Kip might be your perfect match.  If you are interested in adopting please complete our Adoption Application by copying and pasting the following link into your web browser: http://www.caninecastaways.org/adoption-application For a full list of dogs we currently have for adoption use this link:  https://www.caninecastaways.org/adoptable-dogs MEDICAL INFO: The following has been or will be done for this dog... - Basic Exam by Veterinarian - Spayed or Neutered - Heartworm Tested - Placed on heartworm preventive - Basic Bloodwork - Urinalysis - Microchipped - Intestinal Parasite Exam and medication - Vaccinations - Placed on Flea preventive ADOPTION DONATION: $300 This adoption donation helps to cover the vet expenses for this dog including heartworm preventive which is dispensed at the initial vet visit and then goes with the dog at adoption. NAME:  Dominic BREED:  Poodle/Rat Terrier mix SEX:  male COLOR:  black/white AGE:  1 yr as of May 2025 WEIGHT:  11.5 lbs   FOSTERED BY: LOCATED IN: NOTES FROM FOSTER FAMILY: Hi! My name is Dominic, but my foster mom calls me Fluffy because I’m so soft. I love to play with my foster siblings and I’m a good follower, so I would like a friend who will rough house with me and that I can follow to gain my confidence. I overheard my mom say I’m “special” because I have four legs, but only three feet. I’m not sure what special means, but I don’t let it bother me one bit! I keep up with the pack and can jump, run, and play. I love belly rubs and will show anyone my belly to get them. I also like to give kisses. I’m potty trained and I’m kennel trained. I would like a home where I can have lots of affection, a companion, and a fence. I don’t understand leash walking, I like to be independent when I potty. I’m a little guy with a big heart, three paws and lots of love to give. Will you give me a furever home?  Dominic came from a confiscation case (along with his siblings and mom) but unfortunately poor Dominic had gotten his foot caught in the rabbit cage that he was stuck in and sadly chewed off his foot to get loose.  He is doing amazing and hasn't let that stop him from being a happy little guy!   If you are interested in adopting please complete our Adoption Application by copying and pasting the following link into your web browser: http://www.caninecastaways.org/adoption-application For a full list of dogs we currently have for adoption use this link:  https://www.caninecastaways.org/adoptable-dogs MEDICAL INFO: The following has been or will be done for this puppy at the appropriate age... - Basic Exam by Veterinarian - Spayed or Neutered - Placed on heartworm preventive - Basic Bloodwork - Microchipped - Intestinal Parasite Exam and medication - Vaccinations - Placed on flea preventive ADOPTION DONATION: $300 This adoption donation helps to cover the vet expenses for this puppy including heartworm preventive which is dispensed at the initial vet visit and then goes with the dog at adoption.
