Hi everyone, my name is Wilbur and I am an Iowa Puppy Mill poodle rescued and brought to Big (and small) Dog Ranch where I hear my FUR-ever home is waiting. I am a baby just 2yrs but sometimes it felt like 20 yrs in that Mill. I am grateful to have the rest of my life to live in a home now. I am very shy at the moment due to my past living conditions. I will come around with time and your PATIENCE and LOVE. Despite appearing fragile, I am in fact a very active breed & require exercise each day. I may also enjoy thinking games to keep my mind sharp. Poodles are eager for all kinds of activity and like to keep busy. Most Poodles love to get in the water, especially in this hot Florida sun. Not sure if I do yet but it does sound fun. We were bred as hunting dogs, ( yes really!) and have an impulse to retrieve, so tossing toys, sticks, or balls for me will exercise both my mind and body. Once I feel safe I may like a nice walk with my person so please patiently leash train me ok? It may take a little bit of time for me to fit this full description but if you are PATIENT, kind, and committed I am sure I will become that dog you are proud of. Remember, I did not have a nice life before now. It may take time before I will bring you Joy but you can bring me joy by just loving me, OK?

Meet Panda! This 2-year old Poodle-English Sheepdog blend weighs 42 lbs. With her black and white markings this beautiful girl's name matches her perfectly!  General Behavior: Panda is a very loving girl. Her foster parents often compare her to a baby giraffe, with her long legs and lanky body. She loves to cuddle and thinks she's small enough to sit in your lap. She is also playful and doesn’t miss an opportunity to play a game of ‘Chase The Lizards’.  Likes & Dislikes: Perfect Panda loves attention…she thrives off of it! Any snuggles or kisses she can get she will more than happily take. She enjoys being outdoors and  going on walks, although she could use some work on her leashwalking skills. To wind down after a long day, she likes to chew on her toys and bones.  Training: This lovable girl has been working very hard on her housetraining and has done well when let out frequently. She is working on establishing a potty schedule and telling her people when she needs to go out. Panda is still a young pooch and is working on her basic manners. She would benefit from a patient family, willing to work with her on her basic training skills.  Medical: Panda is a healthy pooch and will just require her heartworm and flea preventative like any other dog.  Other Animals: Panda does well with larger dogs. She tends to play too rough with dogs that are much smaller than her. She wouldn’t mind being the only pup in her home and receiving all the attention and love! She has done well with cats but does occasionally chase them and requires redirection.  Children: Pawesome Panda is a very friendly pooch but is a bit too  playful for younger children. She would do best in a home with no young kids, older children (10+) would be just fine.  Home: This young and active girl would fit right into an equally active home. She requires lots of patience, consistency, and most importantly, unconditional love. Panda would benefit from an outdoorsy family that can offer her lots of exercise and playtime and then snuggle with her at the end of a long day. She can be unsure of men upon first meeting them and may bark at them in defense, once she has time to warm up to them, she eventually get comfortable. A single-family home with a secure, fenced-in yard and a family that is home more often than not is ideal.  Grooming: As a Poodle blend, Panda will require regular professional grooming. The cost for a dog her size is approximately $75-$95+. Any potential families should be aware of this recurring expense.
