Story
Hi! I’m Pearl—35 pounds, almost a year and a half old and a poodle with a name that sounds like something rare and shiny. It fits me perfectly because I’m a little gem who adores people, new adventures and showing off my enthusiastic wigglebutt. I enjoy belly rubs, toys, and zooming around the yard and I never turn down a chance to step into bath time like it’s my own little spa moment. I can hang out on my own for a bit but I absolutely light up the moment my favorite humans walk back through the door.
Favorite Things: Pearl is a bright, social girl who enjoys staying active. She loves racing around the yard, chasing a ball and diving into play with enthusiasm. Toys are a big part of her day and she happily rotates through her collection. After her bursts of fun, she settles into a cozy dog bed or relaxes nearby while her people move through their day.
Training and Manners: Pearl has a solid foundation and continues to grow in confidence. She’s house trained when taken out regularly and sleeps peacefully in her dog bed at night. She’s still polishing her leash skills but she’s eager to please and responds well to gentle guidance. Car rides are handled with quiet patience and she settles once she feels secure. When left alone, she may bark briefly to share her feelings but she calms quickly and relaxes. With consistency and reassurance, she keeps improving every day.
Health and Care: Pearl is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Like any dog, she will just need monthly flea and heart worm preventatives. She loves baths and will require regular professional grooming to keep her coat looking its best. She will need to remain on a prescription gastrointestinal diet, which averages about $120 a month for a dog her size.
Other Animals: Pearl is wonderfully social with dogs of all sizes and enjoys their company. She hasn’t met cats yet but her friendly, confident nature suggests she could adapt with slow introductions and a patient family.
Children: Pearl loves everyone she meets, including children of all ages. Her affectionate, outgoing personality makes her a delightful companion for families who enjoy an interactive, playful dog.
Ideal Home: Pearl would do best in a singlefamily home where she has room to stretch her legs and enjoy outdoor time. Because she occasionally barks for a short moment when her people leave, a quieter, nonsharedwall environment will help her feel more at ease. She thrives in a home where she can be included in daily activities, enjoy yard time and continue to blossom. A family who appreciates her affectionate nature and adventurous spirit will be a wonderful match.
Overall: Pearl is a cheerful, affectionate girl who has a way of lighting up every room she enters. Her lively spirit, sharp mind, and treasurethemed name make her unforgettable. She’s more than ready to sparkle in a forever home.
Is Pearl the gem for you? If so, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to submit an adoption application. If it looks like a great match, her foster family will reach out with more information. Her adoption donation is $625.
