Story
Snowball is a handsome 3-year-old, 65-pound Pyredoodle (Great Pyrenees / Poodle mix) with a big personality and an equally big heart for the right home. This boy truly knows how to fit in with his people. Snowball can happily go with the flow—content to lounge on the sofa during a Netflix-and-chill evening, but just as excited to join in when it’s time to head outdoors. He rides wonderfully in the car, did great for his bath, and absolutely loves the snow and tennis balls. He already knows how to sit and politely offer his paw, walks beautifully on leash, and was calm and non-reactive when seeing other dogs on walks. He is also fully crate trained and enjoys settling in for the night—especially if that means sleeping in bed with his humans. Snowball’s former owner affectionately described him as “95% the perfect dog,” and it’s easy to see why. He’s affectionate, adaptable, and bonds closely with his people. Snowball will thrive best in a calm, adult-only home with an experienced and confident owner who understands canine behavior. He can show some resource guarding, particularly around food and occasionally during play, and benefits from clear boundaries and thoughtful management. In his previous home, Snowball struggled with the busy energy of young children, which ultimately led to his surrender. For everyone’s safety and success, he is not a good match for a home with young kids. We believe Snowball is a Pyredoodle, and his ideal adopter will understand typical Great Pyrenees traits—including independence, stubborn streaks, and food guarding tendencies—and be willing to manage these behaviors thoughtfully and consistently.  Snowball is looking for a calm, structured home where boundaries are respected, routines are consistent, and his wonderful qualities can truly shine. In the right environment, he has the potential to be an incredibly loyal, loving companion. If you are interested in adopting Snowball, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. ** February 13, 2026, 1:29 pm

Story
MeShell MaBelle is a story of quiet endurance and beautiful transformation. At three years old and 60 pounds, this striking black Standard Poodle embodies everything people love about the breed — intelligence, sensitivity, and a deep emotional awareness of her people. For much of her early life, MeShell tried to be content with limited interaction and long hours alone. While she loved her family, the lack of stimulation and extended crate confinement placed stress on her gentle system, eventually leading to a diagnosis of Addison’s Disease — a condition that is very manageable, especially in a home built on routine, consistency, and love. Everything changed when MeShell entered foster care. Surrounded for the first time by open skies, fresh air, and patient guidance, she began discovering what life could be. On a lively farm filled with dogs of all sizes, curious cats, horses, donkeys, and even pigs, MeShell absorbed new experiences with quiet determination. She learned how to play, how to relax in the presence of others, and how to take joy in simple freedoms — running through tall grass, resting near trusted humans, and curling up beside a canine companion at the end of the day. Today, MeShell is a happy, affectionate, and energetic girl who thrives on companionship and gentle structure. She is deeply people-oriented and does best when she is included, seen, and emotionally connected to her humans. Her care needs are straightforward: a daily pill, a once-monthly injection, and a lifelong promise that she will never again be overlooked. What she gives in return is immeasurable — loyalty, intelligence, and a love that feels steady, intentional, and profoundly sincere. MeShell MaBelle is ready to leave her past behind and step fully into a future where she is cherished as both a companion and a soul. If you feel a pull toward a dog who has known hardship but still offers her whole heart, she may be the one you’ve been waiting for. To learn more about adopting MeShell, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and include your location when inquiring. Story
Moonie has been apart of our family for 6 months now. She is the same litter sister of our other dog, but unfortunately they do not get along. Moonie would thrive in a household with no other pets. She is the star of the show kind of dog. Moonie loves attention from her owner(s), is very cuddly, playful, and smart. She is house trained, views her crate as her safe space, knows sit, shake, and getting pretty good at the come command and place command. She could use some work with leash training and proper socialization, but she is a quick learner with consistency. Moonie has some past trauma from before us, and some behavioral issues with other dogs. Upon request I will of course elaborate. She is shy and timid at first, but with time she opens up into your little best friend. To help Moonie transition into a new home she will have her crate, bed, favorite toys, leash, collar, harness, and bowls.
