Story
Meet Beau – The Gentle Giant with a Silvery Soul Breed: Doodle (Poodle-leaning) | Size: Large | Age: Estimated adult | Color: Silvery Gray (under all that floof!)   Beau’s story starts like something out of a sad fairy tale—a beautiful, shaggy dog wandering a Tennessee neighborhood, spotted by kind neighbors but too shy to come close. He’d clearly been on his own for a while, his eyes barely visible under mats, his body thin, and his spirit unsure. But hunger eventually won over fear, and one day, Beau walked right up to a family’s doorstep and asked the only way he knew how: “Please help me.”   That brave moment changed everything.   Underneath the tangled mess was a truly stunning dog, now affectionately known as Beau. Though most of his coat had to be shaved due to painful matting, his foster mom says his gorgeous silvery-gray curls will grow back even more beautiful—and we believe her! Despite all he’s been through, Beau is pure love. Calm, gentle, and grateful, he’s the kind of dog that melts into a soft bed or couch and just wants to be near his people.   Beau gets along wonderfully with other dogs, is totally fine with cats, and already has impeccable house manners. He’s housetrained, uses the doggy door like a champ, and doesn’t chew or get into trouble. He’ll quietly go into a crate if needed, but honestly? He’s a low-maintenance sweetheart who just wants to be loved.   Though he’s still gaining back some weight and strength, Beau occasionally gets the zoomies—and we imagine more zoomies are in his future as he heals and feels his best. He is currently weighing about 55 pounds but is way to thin and expected to gain quickly with proper nutrition. He sits patiently for his leash and collar, loads into the car like a pro, and rides without a fuss. His foster family is absolutely smitten, and we think you will be too.   Beau is a dream come true in a dog-shaped package. All he needs now is a forever home with a soft place to land, a regular grooming routine, and all the love he’s missed until now.    Interested in giving Beau the happily-ever-after he deserves? Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 5, 2025, 11:29 am

Story
Sariah (aka Muppet to her foster family, for obvious reasons) is a very sweet, happy, loving, very playful doodle bug. She is 10 months old, so still very much a puppy. She weighs about 45 pounds. She gets along well with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. She is extremely affectionate and would love to cuddle on the couch or in bed if her people allow. She is working on house and crate training. Sariah will be a great fit with any family willing to give her the exercise, training and guidance she will need to thrive.  If you are interested in adopting Sariah, please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet’s age. ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt.***    May 6, 2025, 6:41 am

Story
Hopper is part of our 'H' litter of poodle mixes. Read more about him and him siblings below. Believe it or not these scruffy faced 12 week old pups (as of 5/2) are Standard Poodle x Catahoula Leopard Dog mixes. We expect they have potential to be 60+ pounds when fully grown. The result of an accidental litter, they thankfully were raised by a Good Samaritan, avoiding a shelter, before they made their way to The Foster Dog House. These puppies LOVE people and enjoy being held while they are still able. We expect they may be a little scared of the world once they leave the safety net of their siblings but we know they will catch on quickly. They are submissive around other dogs and a calm and confident dog sibling would be best. They are the perfect mix of spunky and snuggly and we know they will thrive in individual homes. They are still working on potty training but quickly getting the hang of it with frequently potty breaks in the yard. They are also working on crate training and leash training. Ideally adopters are ready to continue teaching the basics & more! The H litter is up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, have received flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and are already microchipped. Remaining vet care will be coordinated and covered by the rescue. If you're interested in meeting Hopper, please complete an adoption application and we will be in touch.

Story
This handsome Miniature Poodle boy is called Wrigley and he is a young 3 year old, 14 pound sweetheart looking for a home.  His life started off with a breeder and he was purchased as a Christmas gift for young children who soon grew tired of the novelty puppy.  They were supposed to take care of him and the parents were not willing to pick up the slack for his care.  The solution was to put this poor 14 pound boy outside on a tie out in the cold elements of Winter.  A neighbor grew so concerned about him and asked if they would give him up to a rescue.  They fortunately agreed and soon this handsome Poodle was in the right hands that could change his life.  He needed to be neutered and it has been done with all other vetting.  Wrigley is a happy boy despite the lack of love and past care.  He seems to have been unfazed that he spent time alone outside and not receiving the real love and snuggles that he so freely gives now to his foster mom. He is housebroken once again and he has left the horror of being on a tie-out far behind.  He is crate trained and we have groomed him just before neutering him.  He has a whole new life ahead of him and we have polished him up to look as dapper as he could before leaving for a new forever home. If you have been looking for a young Poodle to rescue and love then, this is a rare opportunity to get a fully vetted boy with no hidden issues or fears.  He is fine with other dogs, cats and gets along great with everyone he meets. Wrigley was wonderful to the children in the first home even though they did not appreciate him. This treasure is just waiting for a miracle family to love him.  Could that be you?  He is in Tennessee and we transport northward almost every weekend.  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 30, 2025, 9:41 pm

Story
Meet Jazzy Jazz Man! This 8 year old 10 lb miniature poodle is a jazzy man indeed.  He is a calm gentleman who is very sweet.  Jazz is not your 7 year old couch potatoe.  He is a very active 8 years old who so cherishes his exercise time.  Jazz is full of energy and he loves to run.  Jazz now has access to a beauitful fenced in area where he happily gets his daily exercise.  He spends part of just about every day burning off his energy.  After that he is ready for a movie or to watch a sporting event.  When on the couch Jazz likes to be right with you.  This calm sweet boy will settle down right beside you.  BUT please remember that exercise is the most important part of his day.  Jazz walks well on a leash and would love to walk with you.  He needs an active family that loves to go and who will take him with them.  He sits like a charm in the car.  Jazz is good with other dogs and OK with cats.  He fits in easily as soon as he had the lay of the land.  He could be fine in a home with a couple or a home with older children.  To learn more about Jazz and to request an application please contact us at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Jazz is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)April 12, 2025, 2:13 pm

Story
At just 9 pounds, 5-year-old Wisteria is as delicate and lovely as the flower she’s named after. But behind her dainty frame is a soul just beginning to learn what love truly feels like. Wisteria spent the first five years of her life as a backyard breeder dog, never knowing the comfort of a home, a soft bed, or gentle hands. For the past 4 weeks, she’s been discovering life in a real home—and slowly but surely, she’s starting to trust it.  Her journey so far:   She’ll sleep by your side once she feels safe She loves playing in a fenced yard and really needs one She’s begun to play and interact with other dogs—it’s heart-melting She’s still scared of leashes, so leash walks aren't possible just yet she’s housebroken with encouragement and a schedule.‍&#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143‍ She’s painfully shy, but if you’re patient, she’ll come for pets and love  Wisteria becomes a statue of fear in unfamiliar situations, but her bravery grows a little more each day. She needs a calm, committed home—ideally with another gentle dog, a securely fenced yard, and humans who will let her move at her own pace. She’s one of those rare souls who—once she trusts you—will love you deeply and quietly. She just needs time, patience, and a promise that she will never again be discarded or used. If you're ready to offer this beautiful girl the forever she deserves, please reach out. She’s more than worth the wait.   Text us at 615-661-5333 Email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com – don’t forget to include your city and state when you reach out!  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com  April 25, 2025, 8:22 am
