We adopted Thelma a month ago, and she just is not a good fit for our family. She is super sweet, but doesnt mesh well with other animals. I adopted her from a breeder, who was got to use to go breed, but decided against it.

This sweet 6+ gal found her way to SAAP after her own surrendered her at a shelter due to going to assisted living.  She’s about 55 pounds.     She had some teeth removed and it was discovered she has a heart condition herself. The heart condition is Dilated Cardiomyopathy.  It requires 2x daily medication with her food.  She has no problem taking it but it is something she will need for the rest of her life.   She has the sweetest temperament and loves to love on you.   She walks great on a leash and does well with my resident dogs.   I don’t know about cat’s because we don’t have any.  She runs about happily and can curl up in the funniest positions.  She’s a hoot!    I think she would do best with a fenced yard or access to a secured area to be unleashed for her potty breaks (dog park ect).  In the months we have had her,  she doesn’t potty on our walks.   She always goes when we get back to the fenced yard.    Please consider giving this girl a home - she will give you endless cuddles, laughs and love:).      November 4, 2024, 10:45 pm

She was a rescue dog, kept with her two male siblings and was extremely timid as they bullied her. She’s come out of her shell here with us and my dogs and is doing fantastic. All of my dogs sleep in the room at night so they are house trained. She’s fantastic with kids and cats but a little shy at first. She was not socialized much for her first year of life. Her hair is wary rather curly so she is a no shed dog, but not curly which is good because wary hair does not mat and needs very little Grooming. We are located in Harrison, Arkansas, but the adoption fee does cover the transport to your location. I have a Facebook page where you can see lots of videos of Sue so don’t let distance be a deterrent.November 2, 2024, 2:03 pm
