Story
Stihl is a very energetic and playful dog, but he also has a laid-back, calm side and knows when it’s time to settle down. He is extremely friendly, great with kids, and enjoys being around people. Stihl is well trained, crate trained, and fully house trained. He does not use the bathroom inside the house and does very well with a regular routine. He listens well, has good manners, and is comfortable relaxing in his crate when needed. Overall, Stihl is a great combination of energetic, loving, well-behaved, and calm. He makes a wonderful family dog and companion.

Story
Charlie is a 6 year old mixed breed dog that includes standard poodle, pit and, boxer. He is a kind, lovable, and loyal companion. He has short bursts of energy when outside running around the backyard but then is ready to lie down and chill out in the house. Charlie checks in with his person for guidance and reassurance and listens to basic commands such as, sit, stay, and leave it. Charlie is house broken and a very good boy. He is very intelligent and a fast learner. He is low to moderate energy level and tends to be a couch potato. He would do best with a confident, patient, and experienced dog parent(s). Charlie would do best in a calmer home as the only pet. He requires a fenced in yard within an hour of Toledo, Ohio. *If you do not meet the requirements listed for this dog, we are not obligated to respond to your application. Story
Becky with the BangsMeet Becky with the Bangs ❤️🐾Becky is one of six dogs who were transferred to us after the USDA shut down a breeding operation in Ohio. We were not part of the initial rescue, but we are honored to now be part of Becky's journey and help her discover the life she should have always known.Becky is 5 years old, and sadly, she was never properly socialized. Human touch seems completely foreign to her. The simple things we often take for granted—being gently petted, receiving affection, being handled with kindness, or simply sitting beside a person—are all new experiences for her.We don't know everything Becky endured or what her life looked like before rescue, but we do know that she was not given the opportunity to learn that humans can be safe and loving.Because of this, Becky needs a very patient, calm, and understanding home. She isn't a dog who will immediately run up for cuddles or know how to accept affection. Her new family will need to give her time, respect her boundaries, and celebrate the little victories along the way.And those little victories will mean everything. ❤️Becky came to us with Kevin with the Curls, another mini doodle from the same case. They don't necessarily need to be adopted together, but Becky would do best with another friendly, confident dog who can help her feel secure and teach her that life can be good.Becky is 5 years old, spayed, and up to date on her vaccinations. She has spent her life without the love and socialization every dog deserves. Now, she finally has a chance to learn what it feels like to be someone's cherished companion.Becky doesn't need someone to rush her. She needs someone willing to wait for her.Someone who understands that trust takes time.Someone who will let her discover human touch at her own pace.Someone who will show her, every single day, that she is finally safe. 🏡❤️Becky's new life starts now. And we can't wait to see the girl she becomes. An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $250.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.Cats and kittens are minimum donation $50.00

Story
Rosie is sweet, very cuddly, and a happy-go-lucky dog. She was a puppy from our own dogs that we decided to keep, but due to a family separation and a change in work schedules, it has become too difficult to give her the time she deserves. I currently have her with her parents, but caring for three dogs alone is too much. She is a very loving girl looking for a home where she can get plenty of attention.Rosie is:• Housetrained• Experienced with children, dogs, and cats• Familiar with basic commands (sit, back, leave it, and paw)• Very affectionate and "happy-go-lucky"• Not crate trainedRosie is protective and experiences some separation anxiety when left alone for too long. She would thrive with an adopter who can spend more time with her and continue her training. With the right guidance and companionship, she will be an amazing addition to her new family!💰 Rehoming fee: $0
