Story
Mags is a young, bright, emotionally big Standard Poodle who has had a busier start to life than most. She grew up in homes that cared about her, but none were quite equipped to manage her energy, her enthusiasm, or her tendency to become overstimulated. After finding herself in a shelter—confused, over-aroused, and unsure how to channel all her excitement—Mags came into SPIN’s care so she could finally get the structure and support she has always needed. She is an affectionate, social girl with a lot of love to give, but she experiences the world at full volume. New places, new people, and outdoor environments can cause her arousal to spike quickly, which leads to jumping, grabbing, and mouthy behaviour. None of this comes from a place of aggression—Mags simply hasn’t been shown how to regulate her emotions. Now that she’s in foster care and beginning to decompress, we’re finally getting to know the real Mags.

Story
*This dog is fostered in Hamilton*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website.Peggy is a resilient, gentle soul who has overcome incredible challenges and is finally ready for the loving home she deserves. Peggy was rescued with two other dogs from a neglect case. It was clear that she was never socialized; she simply sat and stared at the wall for weeks when she was first saved. Though shy at first, Peggy is blossoming into an affectionate little dog who loves to quietly observe her surroundings and play with her toysadorably using her paws to flip them in the air like a cat. Peggy has been through a lot and it will take her time to adjust to her people and new home. She does not like being picked up and will run away if someone tries to reach for her. She has slowly learned to approach for gentle pets and enjoys snuggling beside her people on the couch once she gets more comfortable. She adorably will nudge your hand for pets. She is not a dog that will shower you with affection and love; at least for now. She is curious once she gets comfortable. The ideal home for Peggy is a calm, patient household with people who are home often and can provide her with love, security, and time to fully trust. The company of another gentle dog would help her feel safe and happy. Peggy underwent a dental after being rescued, where her bones were so brittle that her jaw was accidentally broken during the surgery this past summer. After surviving neglect and recovering from a broken jaw, with 25 teeth removed, Peggy will need a softer diet for her life and currently loves raw. Peggy is truly a special girl whos been through so much, and now its her turn to experience the safety, comfort, and unconditional love of a real family. Peggy will need regular grooming. Name: PeggyBreed: Poodle mix - Havanese ? Story
Henry didn’t lose his home because he was unloved. In fact, he was adored. But sometimes life blindsides good people with impossible choices. After the arrival of a new baby, his owner’s allergies—previously manageable—intensified dramatically. Living together became unsafe and unworkable, and with heartbreak, she made the decision to surrender Henry so he could have the life he deserves.
