Story
Hi! My name is Hamlin. I am a really sweet boy, and I am just looking for my furever home! I am 3-4 months old (born around 1-7-24), weigh about 9 pounds, and I love dogs, cats and kids. I am doing so well with all of them in my foster home in South Carolina! I am neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, dewormed, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for my age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. I am all ready to be adopted :) My adoption fee is $650, and covers all of my vetting, and includes transport within the next two weeks, if my new family lives in the northeast USA. ***PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO ADOPT WITHIN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS**** Please visit https://www.apply.daybeforetherainbow.com/ to fill out an adoption application form or email my rescue at taryn@daybeforetherainbow.com! Thanks for checking me out!

Story
Biscuit is a smart and affectionate boy. He is a 5 month old, 15 lb. Aussiedoodle (I know- he looks like a teddy bear). He has been to the vet recently, is current on all vaccinations, and has no health issues. He has not been neutered yet as vet's recommend waiting until 6 months of age now. (This seems to help with bone and joint issues as dog's age. ) Biscuit needs an active home to fit his high energy level. Loves to play and love affection, too. He can be a chill boy when his human is sitting or working, but is ready to play the second they get up. He is doing well with housetraining. Not perfect yet - accidents occur when his human forgets to take him out consistently. He is used to sleeping in his crate overnight and can be left crated for a few hours at a time during the day. Biscuit is a pretty boy who needs lots of attention. He will be able to bring his crate, toys, and any other equipment he owns.

Story
Jack is very docile. He thinks he is a lap dog. 😂 I trust him with my three little kids. He does have skin allergies that cause dry skin and needs allergy pills from the vet and a higher quality food that does have tons of corn. But he is a very good family dog. We are needing to rehome him for financial reasons and because our schedule has been making it hard to keep up with his care.

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 2/1/2022 Reason for being in rescue: Lovingly surrendered by owners Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Posh is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 02/09/22 Posh had entropion repair on his lower eyelid. He also had a dental polishing and a deep ear cleaning. Posh can be prone to ear infections. Keeping his ears clean is imperative.  Weight: 45 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? Posh is an active dog that has had a lot of change over the last 8 months. He needs stability and patience and continued socialization. Posh is an alpha male and needs an owner that will commit to positive reinforcement training and redirection of behaviors. Posh prefers women to men so an alpha female owner is his ideal home. Posh could live with other dogs (he always has) or be the only dog. Posh is not good with children and will not be placed in a home with children. He requires SLOW introductions to new people. What is my personality like? Posh and his brother Hans were the beloved companions of a single professional. Sadly, significant health challenges made caring for Posh impossible and he was surrendered to rescue to help him find the right forever home.  Posh's owner describes him as a a big, happy love bug - he thinks he is a toy poodle lap dog! He loves to give big hugs and kisses. Posh is not fond of the vet or of grooming but with lots of gentle persuasion it can be managed.  Here is what our caregivers say about this beautiful boy. Posh is a sweet boy that is looking for a mama. The reason I say “mama” is because posh takes direction from women very easily where as he is a little slower to warm up with men. He needs someone that can keep him in line. He is all boy! Posh does well with other dogs; he enjoys the company of dogs his size. Occasionally when he’s over stimulated you’ll have to correct him and let him know he’s being a little too much. Posh is not the best with strangers - you have to buy this boy's love with treats and patience. He does not appreciate being approached without permission and will let you now his displeasure. Posh slightly pulls on a leash and will need some leash training. He would excel at any type of positive reinforcement training as he is very intelligent. Posh loves belly rubs and does very good about keeping his crate clean. It is required posh have a crate in the home this will help his transition to a new environment as well as give him a place to retreat to when he’s feeling overwhelmed. How do I act when I first meet new people? A little timid, but incredibly treat motivated Other tips and tidbits: Posh is 3.5 years old. We celebrate his birthday as 2/1/2019. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. May 3, 2024, 3:50 pm

Loo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. Loo has itchy skin that could be seasonal allergy or food related. He has responded well to antibiotics, but is something his forever home will continue to monitor as it does cause some hair loss. Weight: 37 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? Loo is looking for a home where he will be able to play all day and exert all of his energy. Loo needs a doggy companion who can show him the ropes and balance out his outgoing personality but also be a playmate. Since Loo is so young he is still figuring out how to be sure of himself, and we believe that he will blossom into a confident and outgoing dog. Loo does well with dogs of all sizes, and doesn’t pay much attention to cats so believe he will be fine in a home with cats.  What is my personality like? For a young dog, Loo has lived a lot of life. He arrived in rescue via a NC shelter to which he was surrendered. His original owners had rehomed him on Craigslist (we don't know why) and his new owners surrendered him to a shelter after less than 48 hours in the home. That is a lot of change in a short amount of time and Lou was panicked as you can imagine.  As Loo has settled into life in rescue, we have seen a wonderful personality emerge. Loo still has a lot of puppy energy since he just recently turned a year old. He has never met a stranger and loves everyone. He is one outgoing boy, the caregivers here all love his spunky antics. He also loves to be held like a baby (check out some of the photos on his profile of his caregiver holding him!).  Loo would be the perfect hiking, or running buddy but he does need some fine tuning with his leash skills. He is super dog friendly and enjoys running and playing with his buddies here at the farm all day long. Since arriving here at the farm Loo has presented some skin issues but he is on the road to overcoming them with a special diet. We believe these issues came from either allergies or a food sensitivity.  Loo is timid and fearful at the vet. With his caregivers he is a very social and loving dog. Something about the smells of a vet's office makes him nervous and you will see a more timid and anxious dog in this setting. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Loo is estimated at 1 year old. We celebrate his birthday as 2/10/2022. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. Bailey is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Bailey has history with vets. His records indicate challenges being vetted; our vet was able to examine him without issue, but allowed the exam to proceed at Bailey's pace and on his terms. Bailey wants everything on his terms. Your vet will need to be prepared to go slow, let him build trust, have lots of treats ready, and offer him confidence.  Weight: 35 lbs Height: 16 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Bailey seeks a family and home to call his own. He is a cute, mid-sized pup with a personality larger than life. Bailey is accustomed to living life on his terms. He is affectionate, but not in your face. He does not like to be told what to do and will remind you that he is independent and lives life his way. Bailey loves his people and enjoys being around them. He politely asks for his next family kids' not be the baby size. Babies make Bailey a little uneasy. Bailey can get along with other dogs his size or bigger if they are calm and not too rowdy. Bailey has not been cat tested.  Bailey needs a savvy dog owner. If allowed, he will be alpha of the home, including over humans. He is not for a first time dog owner or for an owner looking for a submissive dog. He is smart and likes life on his terms. Think of him as an independent soul. What is my personality like? Bailey was purchased as a young pup by his family. His family went thru a divorce and unfortunately for Bailey, he was passed along to wife and then to the husband and neither of them could give him the home he deserves. Bailey is a sweet guy but not overly affectionate. He's a little spunky when the mood strikes but overall he's a mellow guy that likes to watch the world float by.  Bailey can be reactive if his people grab his collar and try to pull him around. If you need to catch him quickly, the best way that's the most comfortable for Bailey is with a leash and a bag of treats. Bailey is super food motivated and will happily do anything you ask of him. He was very well trained by his former family. He knows all the basics but his recall is unreliable. He is crate trained. We would recommend he have a crate to go into in his new home.  How do I act when I first meet new people? Bailey is a super sweet gentleman. He will kindly come over to you and check you out. If you offer food then you've already won him over. If you provide a cozy lap then you're his bestie.  Other tips and tidbits: Bailey's family stated he was 10 years old when surrendered to rescue. We celebrate his birthday as 11/19/2012. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours.
