Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   returned 5 2 25 housetraining, barking, won't crateDate into Rescue: Trooper originally arrived in rescue on 12/3/2024. He was adopted in early 2025. In May 2025, Trooper returned to rescue when his owner said they could no longer care for him. We are so thankful he did - Trooper had an intestinal blockage and required emergency surgery to save his life. Trooper was adopted a second time in June 2025. He returned to rescue in August. We know what Trooper needs in a forever home. It is non-negotiable. Please read his description fully. Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release / Owner surrender Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Trooper is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 01/08/25 Trooper had a dental polishing. On 05/05/25 Trooper had emergency surgery to remove an intestinal blockage. Trooper had eaten part of a cloth toy. It's imperative that Trooper's forever home monitors him closely and understands that, if bored, he will go exploring and will eat things. Weight: 44 lbs Height: 26 in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? No, but sweet Trooper has never lived without the security and safety of a physically fenced in yard for running and play time.   What kind of home would be best for me?  Trooper is a fantastic dog who hates being left alone. He also has a penchant for mischief and eating things he shouldn't. Things can be dangerous. We like to think he's got a lot of curiosity built up!  Trooper is versatile and would thrive in a home with a single person, a couple, or a family. He’s not overly active and doesn’t jump, so he could be a great fit for families with children of any age. Trooper has 3 non-negotiables in his forever home. First, it MUST be a stand-alone home. Trooper has a voice and isn't afraid to use it when you leave. Second, you MUST have another large dog that can teach Trooper and model appropriate behavior, And finally, you MUST have a history of crating your dogs and be committed to doing so with Trooper. He will get into things. He will eat things he shouldn't. It is dangerous. What is my personality like?  Meet Trooper – The Red Doodle With a Big Heart and Love of Toys!  Trooper is a stunning red doodle who might just be the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet. He’s the kind of pup who wants nothing more than to be your shadow—whether you’re making coffee, folding laundry, or binge-watching TV, Trooper is right there, soaking up every bit of love and attention he can get. He’s a Velcro dog through and through, and he’d prefer a family that’s home more often than not. Now, let’s talk about Trooper’s “hobby” - chewing. He’s a professional. A connoisseur, even. Shoes - Tempting. Arm chairs - Interesting. But don’t worry—with the right family to guide him, he’s learning that toys are where it’s at. Trooper will NEED a crate when he’s left alone—not as punishment, but as his safe space. Think of it like his personal man cave, keeping him (and your furniture) safe until you get home. The right family will understand crate training, supply him with a mountain of chew toys, and maybe even laugh along the way at his silly antics. Trooper will also need another dog in his new home. Not only does a canine companion help keep him company, but it also teaches him important lessons—like how to be polite and what not to chew on. He’s very social, and having a buddy makes his world brighter. Trooper isn’t cut out for apartment life. He needs a stand-alone home with a fenced-in yard where he can stretch his legs, zoom around like a goofball, and burn off his doodle energy safely. Despite his love of toys and his playful nature, Trooper is also wonderfully well-mannered in many ways. He is house-trained, does beautifully on a leash, and is eager to please. With patience, structure, and lots of love, Trooper is going to blossom into the most loyal and loving companion you could ask for. He’s a sweet, funny, affectionate pup who is still learning what it means to be a pet, and he’s looking for a family who will guide him with love, patience, and a good sense of humor. If you’ve got a fenced yard, another dog, a stash of chew toys, and a heart ready for a loyal, silly, red fluffball who will love you forever—Trooper is waiting to be your guy. How do I act when I first meet new people? Trooper  is not the type to rush up to strangers for affection, but he loves people and is happy to accept love and pets when offered. Other tips and tidbits: Trooper was born on 1/23/2017. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. November 3, 2025, 7:48 am

Cafe is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 12/4/25 Cafe had a dental polishing.  Weight: 40 lbs Height: 22 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes, Cafe requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Cafe would do well in a home with another friendly dog, as dogs have always been a big part of her world and give her confidence. She could also succeed as an only dog, as long as her family is committed to regular doggy playdates so she can continue to enjoy the companionship she knows and loves. As a breeder release, Cafe has never truly been a pet before, so she’ll need extra guidance, consistency, and understanding as she adjusts to home life. In return, she promises to become an incredibly loving, loyal companion who will blossom more each day. What is my personality like? Meet Cafe - A Sweet, Playful Girl Ready to Discover Pet Life! Cafe is a beautiful Standard Poodle with a soft heart and a joyful, playful spirit. She’s sweet, friendly, and absolutely loves being around other dogs. Running around outside with her doggy friends is one of her favorite things to do, and you’ll often find her happily zooming through a field with pure delight written all over her face. Cafe is still learning all the basics of life as a pet. She doesn’t quite understand the leash yet, but it doesn’t bother her - she happily tries to bounce and run around like the silly girl she is. She will need training and patience when it comes to leash walking, house routines, and manners, but she’s eager to learn and ready to grow. If you’re looking for a gentle, playful dog who just needs a little help learning how wonderful being someone’s best friend can be, Cafe is ready to start that journey with you. How do I act when I first meet new people? When meeting new people, Cafe can be a little shy at first. She likes to take a moment to observe and decide that you’re safe. But once she feels comfortable, it doesn’t take much - a gentle pet and a little baby talk- and she’s suddenly climbing into your lap, soaking up affection and asking for more. Other tips and tidbits: Cafe's birthday is 10/11/23 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. Coconut is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Coconut arrived in rescue with entropion - a condition in which her eyelids fold into her eyes. On 12/4/25 this was repaired and she is now ready for her forever home. We have no history on Coconut. Our best guess is that she is a doodle. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic or that she won't shed.  Weight: 46 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes, Coconut requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? In her own home, Coconut wants to be the only dog. She does not enjoy sharing her space or her valued resources, including food, toys, treats, or attention. She can be protective of these items and is confident about communicating her limits to other dogs. For this reason, any visiting dogs would need to be well-mannered guests who understand they are just that - visitors. Interestingly, outside of her personal space, Coconut truly enjoys other dogs. She loves to play, is socially confident, and often takes on a leadership role. She’s been known to step in and protect dogs that are being bullied, showing her strong, assertive nature and social awareness. When she’s not home, she’s playful, and engaged with both dogs and people. At this time, we are unsure how Coconut does with children or cats, so a home without them is preferred. Coconut has a strong personality and requires an experienced owner and rescuer that will help her continue to redirect her energy in positive ways. What is my personality like? Coconut is a sweet, wonderful girl with a big personality and a few quirks - and we think those quirks are part of what makes her special. She knows what she likes, what makes her feel secure, and she’s looking for a home that understands the importance of respecting her boundaries. With humans, Coconut is affectionate, social, and happiest when she’s close by, involved in whatever is happening. She enjoys being part of the group and thrives on connection. Coconut will benefit from continued basic and advanced training to help her navigate home life and reinforce positive boundaries and expectations. Structure and consistency will be key to her success. If you’re looking for a confident, loyal, one-of-a-kind companion who shines brightest as an only dog, Coconut may be the perfect fit for you. How do I act when I first meet new people? Coconut is a friendly girl who enjoys meeting people.  Other tips and tidbits: Coconut was found as a stray. We have absolutely no history on her. Based on her overall health and condition she was estimated at 2 years old by the shelter. We celebrate her birthday 09/19/2023. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. Penny is up to date on vaccines for age and has been dewormed. She had an ear infection upon arrival and foster mom is working on resolving that.  Her next recheck is scheduled for Tuesday 12/23/25.  Penelope has a recessed vulva.  Right now, she is showing none of the normal signs (excessive peeing, licking, etc).  When identified at her age, this condition usually corrects after she goes through her first heat cycle (which we expect in mid to late January).  At this age, it is often from immaturity and corrects as she develops.  If it does not correct, it is a fairly simple procedure that can be done when she is spayed.  When she is groomed, she needs to be rinsed thoroughly, and she needs a neat, clean sanitary clip around her vulva.  Penny also gets carsick.  Her foster mom is working with her on this and we have cerenia to send home for the drive home.       Weight: 31 lbs - tracking to be about 50 full grown Height: 18 in at the shoulder now - tracking to be 24" when full grown Spayed/Neutered: No. Penny is too young to be spayed. She will be adopted on a spay/neuter addendum that requires you to spay her within 9 months at your cost and provide proof of spay. Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes, Penny requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Penny's perfect home will have someone home more than they are away. We would prefer someone with standard poodle experience and most importanmtly, Penny needs a role model.  Penny would thrive in a home with a younger (under 5 years old) dog who is playful and ready to show her the world.  Fenced in yard is an absolute must and an active home that believes that dogs are companions and takes their dogs everywhere is also a must. Poodle puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. Poodle puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically, so a fenced in yard will be required. Poodle puppies are very well rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a poodle puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well, it is important to note that poodles can have a high prey drive. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can! This pup has not had contact with cats that we know of and will not have contact while with their current foster. What is my personality like? Penelope is a natural-born cuddler, happily snuggling up on the couch or in bed, yet she's just as content relaxing in her kennel. With calming music, Penny sleeps soundly through the night. She's also a social butterfly, getting along wonderfully with dogs her own size. She is also learning, with gentle reminders, to be more considerate of her smaller friends. Penny is still all puppy and like a toddler so that means if she can get into it she will and if she can get it in her mouth she will. Penny is such a joy to have around, and it is a blessing to watch her grow and become the fabulous dog we think she will be. PUPPY POLICY: Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog. Our ideal puppy adopters are: -experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets -scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home -stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc) How do I act when I first meet new people?  Cautious unless she is with her foster mom and then you see the happy go lucky puppy that is all Penny.  The cautious, timid side will last about 12 to 24 hours at your home, then her normal bubbly personalty will emerge.  She needs more life experience, and we think this initial shyness will go away.   Other tips and tidbits: Penelope's birthdate is 07/04/25.  When Penelope arrived mid November, her foster mom intended to make this forever.  Life events have intervened and foster mom has realized that Penny needs more than she can give her now and asked us to find perfect for this perfect Penny girl.   House trained? Penny is thriving with potty training and has mastered using the doggie door. Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. Remington is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 11/26/25 Remington had a dental polishing. Weight: 67 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes, Remington requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Remington absolutely loves other dogs and would be happiest in a home with a canine friend to share his days with. A dog buddy helps boost his confidence and brings out his playful, relaxed side. If placed in a home without another dog, it’s important to know that Remington may take longer to fully settle in and will need regular doggy playdates or social time with other dogs, as their companionship means a great deal to him. If there are children in the home, Remington would do best with older or teen-aged kids who understand the importance of giving him space, moving slowly, and allowing him to warm up at his own pace. What is my personality like? Remington is a beautiful white poodle with a thoughtful, gentle nature. Remington is a “long road” kind of dog - he doesn’t rush relationships but instead wants to know that you truly want him. Once that trust is established, his sweetness shines through in the most rewarding way. When Remington feels safe, he becomes a devoted companion and loyal shadow, quietly following you from room to room. He isn’t demanding or pushy for attention, but he will patiently wait nearby, hopeful for a soft word or gentle touch. His affection is calm, sincere, and deeply meaningful. Remington walks well on a leash, though a refresher would always be helpful as he continues to gain confidence. He responds best to gentle handling, calm energy, and patient love. With time, understanding, and a steady environment, he will reward his family with unwavering loyalty and quiet devotion. If you’re looking for a dog who forms deep bonds and becomes truly attached to his people, Remington may be the perfect match. How do I act when I first meet new people? Remington can be a bit timid when first meeting new people and needs a little time to feel comfortable and build trust.  Other tips and tidbits: Remington's birthday is 03/26/24 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. Story
We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   ginger sudillo applyingDate into Rescue: 09/21/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Draco was found as a stray and landed at a TN shelter. His owners were found but did not want him.  Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Draco is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. We have no history on Draco before arriving in rescue. We were told that he is a standard poodle.  He looks and acts like he is a standard poodle.  He does not shed in his foster home.  Our best estimate is that he is a standard poodle, but we cannot guarantee his DNA. We will not guarantee that he is hypoallergenic. Weight: 58 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Draco would vastly prefer a physically fenced in yard.  To the right home with plans for exercise and off leash time at least 3 times per week for at least 1 hour each time, we would consider it for Draco.  Remember he is a big boy and big boys have lots of energy.   What kind of home would be best for me? Draco has now been with us for a while and has shown us a lot about his personality and what he's looking for.  What Draco wants is a best friend, a travelling companion, a let's go everywhere let's do everything together kind of home.  Draco sleeps at his foster mom's feet on a dog bed.  Sleeping in the bedroom with his people is non-negotiable for Draco.  If your dogs do not sleep in the bedroom, this is NOT your dog.   Draco prefers someone home most of the time.  He has separation anxiety. It is not a high anxiety, but he will get into trouble if left alone too long.  He won't tear up the furniture or eat the curtains but anything edible on the counters is fair game.   Draco could do well with a couple if one of the couple understands that while he will share his love, he is going to pick one of you as his numero uno.  In his foster home, that person is foster mom; Dad is okay too but Mom ROCKS.   What is my personality like? Meet Draco, a handsome standard poodle mix with a heart of pure gold. Draco is the kind of dog who has never met a stranger—his warm and loving nature makes everyone he meets feel like an instant best friend.   Draco is truly a people dog. While he enjoys the company of other dogs and does wonderfully with them, it’s clear that you will always be his one and only. His loyalty and devotion shine in everything he does, making him the perfect companion for someone looking for a true best friend.  Draco prefers large and mid-size dogs. He is living with several very tiny dogs and does well with them, but an occasional squeal gets his interest up.  He would be better in a home with dogs over 15 lbs.  He is simply a very big boy but he does not know it. Draco would make an ideal ESA dog.  He is also very much in favor of human touch and nightly he spends time settling his great big head in foster mom's lap for hugs and kisses.  He loves to be touched, petted and stroked.  He would be great for someone who needs to give that tactile touch to a dog.  He is definitely a lap dog!   Draco loves to give hugs and he loves to play with the tennis ball.  Fetch anyone! Draco already has some great skills under his belt—he walks nicely on a leash, knows how to sit, and is eager to learn even more. His eagerness to please paired with his affectionate personality makes him not only a wonderful pet but also an easy and rewarding dog to train. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and endlessly sweet companion who will fill your days with devotion and joy, Draco may be the perfect fit for your family. How do I act when I first meet new people? Draco loves people. Everyone is a new best friend. Other tips and tidbits: The shelter estimated Draco at 3 years old. We have no history or paperwork on his life pre-rescue. We celebrate his birthday 09/21/2022. On October 11, a caregiver left the bottom latch of Draco's crate unlatched.  Draco got out of the unlatched side of his crate and proceeded to rip through the trash can that was in his cottage and then found a mouse trap and ate the bait that was inside.  Draco went home with our director that night for observation and fortunately, he must have a cast iron stomach because he had absolutely no repercussions from his mischievous actions.  Our director took him home.  She has since lost 3 loaves of bread, several tins of muffins and a bag of bagels and a bag of cotton candy.  All of this happens when a human leaves the house, not when we are home.  When we are home he's an angel.  We now crate Dracon when we leave (which is seldom) and make sure that bottom latch is secure.  He has so far not tried again to escape a properly latched crate.     House trained?  Draco has done very well in this department in his foster.  He did let loose once in the kitchen but he had only been with us about 24 hours and we think we did not read his signals.  He goes to the door to let us know it's time to go.  Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours.
