Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 12/26/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder surrender Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Bentley is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Bentley does have some dental tartar, as noted in his vet records. He will likely need a dental in the next 12-18 months. Weight: 61.7 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes - Bentely has never lived without a fenced in yard and needs leash training. Bentley requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Bentley is looking for a calm, mellow, and predictable home environment where he can settle in at his own pace. Loud or constantly changing surroundings may be overwhelming for him, and he will need time to adjust and feel secure in his new space. With a peaceful home, understanding adopters, and a steady routine, Bentley has all the potential to blossom into a devoted, affectionate companion who will reward your patience with quiet loyalty and love.  Bentley would truly thrive in a home with another dog, as he gains confidence by following the lead of more social companions. However, an experienced home familiar with timid or rescue dogs could also be a great fit, provided he continues to have regular, positive interactions with other dogs outside the home. What is my personality like? Bentley is a 3-year-old, 60-pound Standard Poodle with a gentle spirit and a warm, happy smile that instantly draws you in. Sweet and kind by nature, Bentley carries himself with a quiet confidence and a calm presence that makes him easy to be around and easy to love. He does well with other dogs and is comfortable holding his own, though he prefers polite, respectful canine companions and is not a fan of overly pushy dogs. While he often looks to other dogs for reassurance, Bentley is also capable of exploring and building confidence independently once he feels safe. Bentley has been groomed regularly throughout his life and does very well on the grooming table, making routine care a smooth and stress-free experience.  How do I act when I first meet new people? As Bentley has never truly lived life as a household pet, everything about being in a home will be new to him. He will need time, patience, and gentle guidance to understand what it means to live indoors, follow daily routines, and learn basic house manners and training. Other tips and tidbits: Bentley's birthday is 07/24/2022. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Ginger is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Ginger's mom Honey is a labradoodle. Her dad Jackson is a standard poodle. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic or that she won't shed. Weight: 61 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? No. Ginger can and will jump a 6-foot fence. She requires a dedicated adopter who can ensure her safety when outdoors. She cannot be left outside alone ever. What kind of home would be best for me? Ginger is looking for a calm, patient home where she can be a companion to an existing dog. She truly thrives with canine companionship and must have another dog in the home to help her feel secure and confident. Ginger is the dog you adopt when your dog needs a dog!  Ginger is still learning that humans are a safe source of love and affection, and she will not be placed in a home with children under 18.  She does best in a quieter environment without the hustle and bustle of young children. Ginger requires an adopter who is experienced in socialization and rehabilitation and understands that some dogs will always be shy and shut down. Ginge will improve but she will most likely never be a social butterfly.  No need for walks.  She would just as soon stay home.   Ginger has never lived in a home before and will need time, patience, and understanding as she learns household routines, expectations, and basic training skills, including walking on a leash. She is a gentle soul who comes around slowly, but once she does, she shows her sweet and affectionate nature. What is my personality like? Ginger has lived a very sheltered life. She spent more time outside than in and human interactions were very limited. You will teach her everything - about companionship, how to be a pet, and what living in a home looks like. It will take time. Likely lots of time.  While Ginger enjoys affection, she will likely always be more of a "dog's dog." She isn't looking to be the center of attention in a large, busy household-instead, she prefers to share love and companionship with another dog. With time, guidance, and a lot of patience, Ginger will grow into the wonderful dog we know she can be. How do I act when I first meet new people? Ginger is timid meeting new people. She is still unsure about people in general. Other tips and tidbits: Ginger's birthday is 10/11/2024 House trained? Foster location: In Foster in Wilmington, NC Special Needs? Blaze is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Weight: 51 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes, Blaze requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? H andsome Blaze is a young dog that is very light on life experiences. He needs a special home where his human will be his constant companion and teacher. His ideal adopter will have an abundance of patience, love, understanding, compassion, forgiveness, calmness, and empathy. It’s essential that Blaze’s family has experience with shy or special-needs dogs, as he requires gentle guidance to build his confidence. Currently, Blaze is fearful of many things and will need time and encouragement to feel secure. He’s not yet comfortable approaching people for pets or treats, so his new family should be skilled in helping timid dogs blossom. A confident dog in the household is required, as it can help Blaze learn how to navigate the world and understand what it means to be a beloved pet. Given his anxious nature, Blaze would thrive in a home without children, where sudden noises and movements won’t startle him. Ideally, his adopter would be a single person or a couple dedicated to helping him grow through compassionate teaching. His adopter MUST be experienced in working with developing dogs from a mistrustful, skittish, and fearful dog into a well-trained pet. What is my personality like?  Meet big Blaze, a shy and timid guy who came to us as a breeder release and is just beginning to discover what it means to be a dog. Blaze has only known life in a breeding environment. He has a long road ahead in terms of social adjustment and learning to embrace life as a beloved pet. Blaze is reserved, timid, and shy when interacting with both animals and people. Everything is new and can be a bit scary for him. Here at CPR, Blaze is starting to learn about love, companionship, and the joys of being a dog. Blaze is living in a foster home and making such good progress. He walks well on a leash. He is social at puppy play groups. He takes treats gently and more confidently every day. Blaze has a deep desire for love and affection, but his fear holds him back. With patience and kindness, you can help him feel safe enough to take that leap. If you’re an experienced dog owner ready to guide Blaze on his journey to becoming the loving companion he’s meant to be, please consider opening your heart and home to him. Adopting Blaze means transforming his life and helping him write his redemption story. How do I act when I first meet new people? When meeting new people, Blaze typically retreats. He has a gentle soul and it’s obvious he dearly wants to trust people.  Although he may seem distant, his longing for connection is clear. With time and trust, Blaze has the potential to become the sweetest, most loving dog you could ever imagine. Other tips and tidbits: Blaze was born on or around 3/1/2024. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. Weight:73 lbs Height: 24in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes, Honey requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Home life is still new to Honey, and she will need time, patience, and guidance as she learns routines, house manners, and expectations. She will benefit greatly from consistent, positive training and a family willing to help her navigate this new chapter with kindness and structure. Because Honey is energetic and enthusiastic, she would do best in a home with older children who can match her size and confidence. Her joyful, bouncy nature may be a bit much for very young kids, as she could accidentally knock them over during play. Honey has been tested with cats and thinks they are pretty cool. She would be fine in a home with cats. What is my personality like? Honey arrived in rescue after her human mother died. Honey is a strong, confident girl with a steady presence and a heart that’s ready to connect. She has raised puppies before and knows how to communicate clearly with other dogs, setting respectful boundaries without being reactive or unkind. Honey carries herself with natural leadership and a calm assurance that makes her easy to trust. Honey is a 3-year-old Lab–Poodle mix who truly enjoys being outdoors. Having spent much of her life outside, she’s happiest when she has room to move, explore, and breathe in the fresh air. She would love an active lifestyle filled with walks, hikes, and everyday adventures alongside her people. Honey is ready for a life where she can be both guided and loved - where her confidence is respected and her heart has room to open fully. With the right home, she has everything it takes to become a devoted, adventurous, and deeply rewarding companion. How do I act when I first meet new people? At first, Honey may take a moment to warm up to new people. She likes a gentle approach—but once she hears a kind voice and is offered a calm, open hand, her walls melt away. From there, she’s your buddy: loyal, engaged, and happy to be right by your side. Other tips and tidbits:  We were told Honey is 3 years old. We have no paperwork confirming this. We celebrate her birthday 12/2/22.  She is mother to many of the puppies. House trained? He was adopted in early 2025. In May 2025, Trooper returned to rescue when his owner said they could no longer care for him. We are so thankful he did - Trooper had an intestinal blockage and required emergency surgery to save his life. Trooper was adopted a second time in June 2025. He returned to rescue in August. We know what Trooper needs in a forever home. It is non-negotiable. Please read his description fully. Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release / Owner surrender Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Trooper is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 01/08/25 Trooper had a dental polishing. On 05/05/25 Trooper had emergency surgery to remove an intestinal blockage. Trooper had eaten part of a cloth toy. It's imperative that Trooper's forever home monitors him closely and understands that, if bored, he will go exploring and will eat things. Weight: 44 lbs Height: 26 in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? No, but sweet Trooper has never lived without the security and safety of a physically fenced in yard for running and play time.   What kind of home would be best for me?  Trooper is a fantastic dog who hates being left alone. He also has a penchant for mischief and eating things he shouldn't. Things can be dangerous. We like to think he's got a lot of curiosity built up!  Trooper is versatile and would thrive in a home with a single person, a couple, or a family. He’s not overly active and doesn’t jump, so he could be a great fit for families with children of any age. Trooper has 3 non-negotiables in his forever home. First, it MUST be a stand-alone home. Trooper has a voice and isn't afraid to use it when you leave. Second, you MUST have another large dog that can teach Trooper and model appropriate behavior, And finally, you MUST have a history of crating your dogs and be committed to doing so with Trooper. He will get into things. He will eat things he shouldn't. It is dangerous. What is my personality like?  Meet Trooper – The Red Doodle With a Big Heart and Love of Toys!  Trooper is a stunning red doodle who might just be the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet. He’s the kind of pup who wants nothing more than to be your shadow—whether you’re making coffee, folding laundry, or binge-watching TV, Trooper is right there, soaking up every bit of love and attention he can get. He’s a Velcro dog through and through, and he’d prefer a family that’s home more often than not. Now, let’s talk about Trooper’s “hobby” - chewing. He’s a professional. A connoisseur, even. Shoes - Tempting. Arm chairs - Interesting. But don’t worry—with the right family to guide him, he’s learning that toys are where it’s at. Trooper will NEED a crate when he’s left alone—not as punishment, but as his safe space. Think of it like his personal man cave, keeping him (and your furniture) safe until you get home. The right family will understand crate training, supply him with a mountain of chew toys, and maybe even laugh along the way at his silly antics. Trooper will also need another dog in his new home. Not only does a canine companion help keep him company, but it also teaches him important lessons—like how to be polite and what not to chew on. He’s very social, and having a buddy makes his world brighter. Trooper isn’t cut out for apartment life. He needs a stand-alone home with a fenced-in yard where he can stretch his legs, zoom around like a goofball, and burn off his doodle energy safely. Despite his love of toys and his playful nature, Trooper is also wonderfully well-mannered in many ways. He is house-trained, does beautifully on a leash, and is eager to please. With patience, structure, and lots of love, Trooper is going to blossom into the most loyal and loving companion you could ask for. He’s a sweet, funny, affectionate pup who is still learning what it means to be a pet, and he’s looking for a family who will guide him with love, patience, and a good sense of humor. If you’ve got a fenced yard, another dog, a stash of chew toys, and a heart ready for a loyal, silly, red fluffball who will love you forever—Trooper is waiting to be your guy. How do I act when I first meet new people? Trooper  is not the type to rush up to strangers for affection, but he loves people and is happy to accept love and pets when offered. Other tips and tidbits: Trooper was born on 1/23/2017. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Jackson is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 12/17/25, Jackson had surgery to correct entropion in both eyes. He has recovered and is ready for his forever home.  Weight: 67 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes, Jackson requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Jackson loves to play and does best with dogs who can match his size and energy. He enjoys active canine companionship and thrives when he has room to romp and burn off his joyful poodle energy. He’s a people-lover through and through and has a naturally affectionate, friendly spirit. Jackson adores attention and would be thrilled to have kids in the home to love on him. Whether he’s soaking up the sunshine outdoors or leaning in close for affection, Jackson gives his whole heart to the people around him. Jackson would be perfectly happy as your one-and-only dog, soaking up all the attention, or sharing his home with another large dog who enjoys active play. At heart, he’s a loving, loyal companion who thrives on connection. Jackso has been tested with cats and thinks they are pretty cool. He would be fine in a home with cats. What is my personality like? Meet Jackson, a big red Standard Poodle whose vibrant personality matches his gorgeous coat. Jackson is the perfect balance of fun-loving energy and cozy affection- just as happy sprinting across the yard as he is settling in beside you for some quality cuddle time. If you’re looking for a dog who brings both excitement and warmth into your home, Jackson fits the bill. Jackson does well on a leash and enjoys heading out for walks and adventures with his people. He is also clean in his crate and settles well when given structure and routine. However, Jackson does have a lot to say when his people leave - he’s been known to “sing the song of his people,” so for everyone’s comfort, he is best suited for a standalone home rather than shared-wall housing. If you’re searching for a big-hearted, playful, affectionate dog ready to join you for life’s adventures, Jackson is ready to bring joy, companionship, and plenty of personality into your home. How do I act when I first meet new people? Jackson is a happy, friendly boy who enjoys making new friends. Other tips and tidbits: We were told Jackson is 3 years old. We celebrate his birthday 12/17/22. Thank you for considering CPR. January 23, 2026, 8:59 am
