Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue:  12/2/25 Reason for being in rescue: Owner Release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Honey of Earl is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Honey is a labradoodle. We does shed. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic. Weight:73 lbs Height: 24in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes, Honey requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Home life is still new to Honey, and she will need time, patience, and guidance as she learns routines, house manners, and expectations. She will benefit greatly from consistent, positive training and a family willing to help her navigate this new chapter with kindness and structure. Because Honey is energetic and enthusiastic, she would do best in a home with older children who can match her size and confidence. Her joyful, bouncy nature may be a bit much for very young kids, as she could accidentally knock them over during play. What is my personality like? Honey arrived in rescue after her human mother died. Honey is a strong, confident girl with a steady presence and a heart that’s ready to connect. She has raised puppies before and knows how to communicate clearly with other dogs, setting respectful boundaries without being reactive or unkind. Honey carries herself with natural leadership and a calm assurance that makes her easy to trust. Honey is a 3-year-old Lab–Poodle mix who truly enjoys being outdoors. Having spent much of her life outside, she’s happiest when she has room to move, explore, and breathe in the fresh air. She would love an active lifestyle filled with walks, hikes, and everyday adventures alongside her people. Honey is ready for a life where she can be both guided and loved - where her confidence is respected and her heart has room to open fully. With the right home, she has everything it takes to become a devoted, adventurous, and deeply rewarding companion. How do I act when I first meet new people? At first, Honey may take a moment to warm up to new people. She likes a gentle approach—but once she hears a kind voice and is offered a calm, open hand, her walls melt away. From there, she’s your buddy: loyal, engaged, and happy to be right by your side. Other tips and tidbits:  We were told Honey is 3 years old. We have no paperwork confirming this. We celebrate her birthday 12/2/22.  She is mother to many of the puppies. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. He was adopted in early 2025. In May 2025, Trooper returned to rescue when his owner said they could no longer care for him. We are so thankful he did - Trooper had an intestinal blockage and required emergency surgery to save his life. Trooper was adopted a second time in June 2025. He returned to rescue in August. We know what Trooper needs in a forever home. It is non-negotiable. Please read his description fully. Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release / Owner surrender Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Trooper is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 01/08/25 Trooper had a dental polishing. On 05/05/25 Trooper had emergency surgery to remove an intestinal blockage. Trooper had eaten part of a cloth toy. It's imperative that Trooper's forever home monitors him closely and understands that, if bored, he will go exploring and will eat things. Weight: 44 lbs Height: 26 in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? No, but sweet Trooper has never lived without the security and safety of a physically fenced in yard for running and play time.   What kind of home would be best for me?  Trooper is a fantastic dog who hates being left alone. He also has a penchant for mischief and eating things he shouldn't. Things can be dangerous. We like to think he's got a lot of curiosity built up!  Trooper is versatile and would thrive in a home with a single person, a couple, or a family. He’s not overly active and doesn’t jump, so he could be a great fit for families with children of any age. Trooper has 3 non-negotiables in his forever home. First, it MUST be a stand-alone home. Trooper has a voice and isn't afraid to use it when you leave. Second, you MUST have another large dog that can teach Trooper and model appropriate behavior, And finally, you MUST have a history of crating your dogs and be committed to doing so with Trooper. He will get into things. He will eat things he shouldn't. It is dangerous. What is my personality like?  Meet Trooper – The Red Doodle With a Big Heart and Love of Toys!  Trooper is a stunning red doodle who might just be the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet. He’s the kind of pup who wants nothing more than to be your shadow—whether you’re making coffee, folding laundry, or binge-watching TV, Trooper is right there, soaking up every bit of love and attention he can get. He’s a Velcro dog through and through, and he’d prefer a family that’s home more often than not. Now, let’s talk about Trooper’s “hobby” - chewing. He’s a professional. A connoisseur, even. Shoes - Tempting. Arm chairs - Interesting. But don’t worry—with the right family to guide him, he’s learning that toys are where it’s at. Trooper will NEED a crate when he’s left alone—not as punishment, but as his safe space. Think of it like his personal man cave, keeping him (and your furniture) safe until you get home. The right family will understand crate training, supply him with a mountain of chew toys, and maybe even laugh along the way at his silly antics. Trooper will also need another dog in his new home. Not only does a canine companion help keep him company, but it also teaches him important lessons—like how to be polite and what not to chew on. He’s very social, and having a buddy makes his world brighter. Trooper isn’t cut out for apartment life. He needs a stand-alone home with a fenced-in yard where he can stretch his legs, zoom around like a goofball, and burn off his doodle energy safely. Despite his love of toys and his playful nature, Trooper is also wonderfully well-mannered in many ways. He is house-trained, does beautifully on a leash, and is eager to please. With patience, structure, and lots of love, Trooper is going to blossom into the most loyal and loving companion you could ask for. He’s a sweet, funny, affectionate pup who is still learning what it means to be a pet, and he’s looking for a family who will guide him with love, patience, and a good sense of humor. If you’ve got a fenced yard, another dog, a stash of chew toys, and a heart ready for a loyal, silly, red fluffball who will love you forever—Trooper is waiting to be your guy. How do I act when I first meet new people? Trooper  is not the type to rush up to strangers for affection, but he loves people and is happy to accept love and pets when offered. Other tips and tidbits: Trooper was born on 1/23/2017. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Weight: 63 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes, Lily requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Lily has never had the opportunity to live as a house pet, so everything about home life will be new to her. She will need time, patience, and guidance to learn household routines, manners, and expectations. Formal training will be important for Lily, and with consistency and positive reinforcement, she has all the potential to become a well-rounded, well-mannered companion. For an active family or individual looking for a confident, outdoorsy dog with strong leadership qualities, Lily could be an incredible match. Because of her energetic and boisterous nature, we believe Lily would do best in a home with older children who can handle her enthusiasm. Smaller or younger children may be at risk of being accidentally knocked over by her playful excitement. What is my personality like? Lily landed in rescue after her human mom died. Lily is a confident, self-assured girl who knows who she is. Having been a mother before, she is comfortable setting boundaries with other dogs and does so calmly and appropriately. Lily is not reactive or aggressive - she’s simply assertive. She carries herself like a true leader, moving through the world with her head held high and a quiet confidence that’s hard to miss. Lily is a 3-year-old Lab–Poodle mix with a bold, adventurous spirit. She approaches new situations with curiosity and confidence and would love an active lifestyle filled with outdoor time. Having spent much of her life outside, Lily truly enjoys being outdoors and would be thrilled to join her people on hikes, walks, and everyday adventures. With the right structure and love, Lily is ready to step into her next chapter and truly shine. How do I act when I first meet new people? Abe would be thrilled to have another dog in the home to share his adventures with, but he’d also be perfectly happy as your one and only, so long as he can enjoy regular playdates with other dogs. His friendly, social nature truly shines when he’s surrounded by companionship and activity. What is my personality like? Meet Abe - Your Energetic, Loving, All-Around Best Buddy! Abe is a handsome Standard Poodle with a heart full of love and enough energy to brighten every day. This sweet boy is bursting with enthusiasm for life - he loves to romp, run, and play, and he never says no to a good game with his dog friends. Abe gets along beautifully with everyone he meets - people and pups alike - and he’s always ready to make new friends. Like many dogs starting a new chapter, Abe will need a little refresher on house routines and manners as he settles into his new home. He walks fairly well on a leash, though when he’s excited, he can pull a bit - nothing a patient hand and a few reminders can’t fix. Abe does well at the vet, though it’s clear that visits make him a little nervous. A gentle, understanding veterinarian who takes things slow will help him feel more at ease. At his core, Abe is the perfect mix of love bug and playmate - affectionate, loyal, and full of personality. Whether he’s zooming around the yard or curling up beside you for a well-earned rest, Abe is happiest just being part of your world. If you’re looking for a joyful, devoted companion who will fill your days with laughter, love, and a bit of goofiness, Abe is your guy. How do I act when I first meet new people? Abe is a happy, friendly boy! Other tips and tidbits: We were told Abe is 8 years old. We celebrate his birthday 12/20/2017. House trained? Elvis is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Elvis is a goldendoodle. He sheds a lot. Weight: 58 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? No - but he would love one.  What kind of home would be best for me? Elvis enjoys playing with other dogs and does well around them, but if given the choice, he would happily spend his entire day right by your side. He is very people-centered and would be perfectly content as an only dog, soaking up all the love and connection his person has to offer. We think Elvis would do well in a home with older children or teens who can respect his gentle nature, but he would be just as happy in a quieter home with a single person or couple. What matters most to Elvis is being included—he wants to go wherever you go and be part of your everyday life. What is my personality like? Elvis is a 3-year-old Goldendoodle with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. He came to us from a kind gentleman who adored him but was struggling to find housing where Elvis could stay with him. It’s clear how deeply Elvis was loved, and that love shines through in his affectionate, trusting nature. Elvis is a sweet, kind boy who thrives on attention and companionship. One of Elvis’s favorite things is car rides. He absolutely loves the car and is always ready to hop in and head off on the next adventure, no matter the destination. Having lived in a home before, Elvis is familiar with the rhythms of household life and transitions easily into a home environment. He is crate trained and goes into his crate willingly, making him an easy and adaptable companion. While he walks fairly well on leash, he would benefit from a refresher to help polish those skills.   How do I act when I first meet new people?  If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who wants nothing more than to be your shadow and your travel buddy, Elvis may be the perfect match. Petey is a big boy who sometimes forgets just how large his back end is. Because of his size and strength, Petey would do best with older children who can handle a big, playful dog and the occasional friendly wrestle or happy bump. His enthusiasm is harmless, but it can be a lot for little ones.  When it comes to other dogs, Petey is still figuring things out. He is picky about his friends and really prefers not to share his space. Petey will not be adopted into a home with another dog, and he should not be taken to dog parks or doggy daycare.  What is my personality like? Are you looking for BIG, BOLD, and BEAUTIFUL - Look no further than Petey, the 73-pound Bernedoodle with a heart as oversized as his fluffy frame. Petey is a giant sweetheart - affectionate, eager to please, and wonderfully responsive to gentle correction. One little “ah-ah!” and he’s tuned right in, showing just how trainable this big boy can be with consistency and patience. Petey isn’t a jumper and he’s not the type to plow into you full force - he’s simply a large, happy dog who sometimes forgets how much space he takes up. Because of his strength and size, he’d do best with older children who can handle a big, playful companion and the occasional accidental bump or wiggly lean. Petey loves people and greets everyone as if they’re already his friend. He enjoys walks and adventures, though he’ll definitely benefit from continued leash training to channel all that enthusiasm. He’s bright, willing, and ready to learn the rhythms of a new home. If you’re searching for a big, joyful, love-soaked companion who’s ready for adventures, snuggles, and all the affection you can offer, Petey might be the perfect match. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly to his core, Petey doesn’t meet strangers - he meets instant friends.  Other tips and tidbits: While the people who used to own Petey said he is "about a year" old. Our veterinarian feels he is around 3 years old.  We are celebrating his birthdate 11/14/22. Thank you for considering CPR. December 24, 2025, 2:02 pm
