Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   returned 5 2 25 housetraining, barking, won't crateDate into Rescue: Trooper originally arrived in rescue on 12/3/2024. He was adopted in early 2025. In May 2025, Trooper returned to rescue when his owner said they could no longer care for him. We are so thankful he did - Trooper had an intestinal blockage and required emergency surgery to save his life. Trooper was adopted a second time in June 2025. He returned to rescue in August. We know what Trooper needs in a forever home. It is non-negotiable. Please read his description fully. Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release / Owner surrender Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Trooper is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 01/08/25 Trooper had a dental polishing. On 05/05/25 Trooper had emergency surgery to remove an intestinal blockage. Trooper had eaten part of a cloth toy. It's imperative that Trooper's forever home monitors him closely and understands that, if bored, he will go exploring and will eat things. Weight: 44 lbs Height: 26 in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? No, but sweet Trooper has never lived without the security and safety of a physically fenced in yard for running and play time.   What kind of home would be best for me?  Trooper is a fantastic dog who hates being left alone. He also has a penchant for mischief and eating things he shouldn't. Things can be dangerous. We like to think he's got a lot of curiosity built up!  Trooper is versatile and would thrive in a home with a single person, a couple, or a family. He’s not overly active and doesn’t jump, so he could be a great fit for families with children of any age. Trooper has 3 non-negotiables in his forever home. First, it MUST be a stand-alone home. Trooper has a voice and isn't afraid to use it when you leave. Second, you MUST have another large dog that can teach Trooper and model appropriate behavior, And finally, you MUST have a history of crating your dogs and be committed to doing so with Trooper. He will get into things. He will eat things he shouldn't. It is dangerous. What is my personality like?  Meet Trooper – The Red Doodle With a Big Heart and Love of Toys!  Trooper is a stunning red doodle who might just be the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet. He’s the kind of pup who wants nothing more than to be your shadow—whether you’re making coffee, folding laundry, or binge-watching TV, Trooper is right there, soaking up every bit of love and attention he can get. He’s a Velcro dog through and through, and he’d prefer a family that’s home more often than not. Now, let’s talk about Trooper’s “hobby” - chewing. He’s a professional. A connoisseur, even. Shoes - Tempting. Arm chairs - Interesting. But don’t worry—with the right family to guide him, he’s learning that toys are where it’s at. Trooper will NEED a crate when he’s left alone—not as punishment, but as his safe space. Think of it like his personal man cave, keeping him (and your furniture) safe until you get home. The right family will understand crate training, supply him with a mountain of chew toys, and maybe even laugh along the way at his silly antics. Trooper will also need another dog in his new home. Not only does a canine companion help keep him company, but it also teaches him important lessons—like how to be polite and what not to chew on. He’s very social, and having a buddy makes his world brighter. Trooper isn’t cut out for apartment life. He needs a stand-alone home with a fenced-in yard where he can stretch his legs, zoom around like a goofball, and burn off his doodle energy safely. Despite his love of toys and his playful nature, Trooper is also wonderfully well-mannered in many ways. He is house-trained, does beautifully on a leash, and is eager to please. With patience, structure, and lots of love, Trooper is going to blossom into the most loyal and loving companion you could ask for. He’s a sweet, funny, affectionate pup who is still learning what it means to be a pet, and he’s looking for a family who will guide him with love, patience, and a good sense of humor. If you’ve got a fenced yard, another dog, a stash of chew toys, and a heart ready for a loyal, silly, red fluffball who will love you forever—Trooper is waiting to be your guy. How do I act when I first meet new people? Trooper  is not the type to rush up to strangers for affection, but he loves people and is happy to accept love and pets when offered. Other tips and tidbits: Trooper was born on 1/23/2017. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. November 3, 2025, 7:48 am

Fancy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 11/19/25 she had a dental polishing. Weight: 48 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? No - but Fancy will need a way to consistently get exercise in a safe environment without being on leash What kind of home would be best for me?  Fancy is a stunning silver Standard Poodle with a gentle spirit and a heart full of love.  She’s accustomed to living the good life and carries herself with a calm, graceful presence. Fancy gets along fine with other dogs and appreciates their company, but she does not rely on them for comfort or confidence. She’s perfectly content being the only dog in the home as long as she has her humans to bond with. If she is with another dog in the home, she will need a dog that will respect her boundaries. Fancy is not afraid to state her opinions, she is not mean, but she will make it clear when she is done playing. Older, respectful children who understand that she is not a jungle gym would be a suitable fit for her easygoing nature.  If Fancy could paint her perfect life, it would be quiet, peaceful, and filled with simple joys - lounging on the porch, strolling along the beach, or relaxing beside you on a slow Sunday morning while you sip your coffee. As with any dog settling into a new environment, Fancy will need time to adjust to her new home, routines, and expectations. With patience and understanding, she will blossom into a deeply devoted companion. What is my personality like?  Fancy is quiet, observant, and devoted. She enjoys following her person from room to room, never pushy, just patiently waiting for a kind word or a gentle hand. Her loyalty is soft and steady, the kind that grows deeper every day. If you’re looking for a serene, loving dog who wants nothing more than to share a beautiful, tranquil life with you, Fancy may be the perfect match. How do I act when I first meet new people? Fancy may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once she feels safe, her sweetness shines through. At her core, Fancy is a dog who simply wants to be loved - and to love you right back. Other tips and tidbits: Fancy's birthday is 08/17/2020 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. Fancy was house trained in her previous environment and we have had no problem with here, but she will need time to acclimate to your home! A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. She likes to live comfortably, and it shows in her calm, composed demeanor. Her presence is peaceful and grounding, a steady companion who prefers gentle connection over high-energy chaos. Cashmere gets along just fine with other dogs and enjoys their company, though she doesn’t depend on them for confidence or comfort. She does love to play and romp with other dogs once she is settled with them! She would do equally well as an only dog or living alongside another calm canine friend. She would also be a great fit for children! She LOVES children! What is my personality like? Cashmere is a stunning white Standard Poodle with a soft, gentle soul and a heart full of sweetness. Cashmere is quiet and observant, the type of dog who will happily follow you from room to room, not demanding your attention but patiently waiting for a loving hand or a moment shared together. She does well on a leash, though like many dogs she wouldn’t mind a little refresher. Cashmere loves toys and enjoys having them to collect, carry, or snuggle. She is also crate trained and keeps her space clean, making transitions into a new home smoother and easier. If you’re looking for a gentle, elegant, and loving companion who wants nothing more than a peaceful life by your side, Cashmere may be the perfect match. Cashmere is a dog who simply wants to be loved deeply - and she has plenty of that love to give back. His owners were found but did not want him.  Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Draco is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. We have no history on Draco before arriving in rescue. We were told that he is a standard poodle.  He looks and acts like he is a standard poodle.  He does not shed in his foster home.  Our best estimate is that he is a standard poodle, but we cannot guarantee his DNA. We will not guarantee that he is hypoallergenic. Weight: 58 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Draco would vastly prefer a physically fenced in yard.  To the right home with plans for exercise and off leash time at least 3 times per week for at least 1 hour each time, we would consider it for Draco.  Remember he is a big boy and big boys have lots of energy.   What kind of home would be best for me? Draco has now been with us for a while and has shown us a lot about his personality and what he's looking for.  What Draco wants is a best friend, a travelling companion, a let's go everywhere let's do everything together kind of home.  Draco sleeps at his foster mom's feet on a dog bed.  Sleeping in the bedroom with his people is non-negotiable for Draco.  If your dogs do not sleep in the bedroom, this is NOT your dog.   Draco prefers someone home most of the time.  He has separation anxiety. It is not a high anxiety, but he will get into trouble if left alone too long.  He won't tear up the furniture or eat the curtains but anything edible on the counters is fair game.   Draco could do well with a couple if one of the couple understands that while he will share his love, he is going to pick one of you as his numero uno.  In his foster home, that person is foster mom; Dad is okay too but Mom ROCKS.   What is my personality like? Meet Draco, a handsome standard poodle mix with a heart of pure gold. Draco is the kind of dog who has never met a stranger—his warm and loving nature makes everyone he meets feel like an instant best friend.   Draco is truly a people dog. While he enjoys the company of other dogs and does wonderfully with them, it’s clear that you will always be his one and only. His loyalty and devotion shine in everything he does, making him the perfect companion for someone looking for a true best friend.  Draco prefers large and mid-size dogs. He is living with several very tiny dogs and does well with them, but an occasional squeal gets his interest up.  He would be better in a home with dogs over 15 lbs.  He is simply a very big boy but he does not know it. Draco would make an ideal ESA dog.  He is also very much in favor of human touch and nightly he spends time settling his great big head in foster mom's lap for hugs and kisses.  He loves to be touched, petted and stroked.  He would be great for someone who needs to give that tactile touch to a dog.  He is definitely a lap dog!   Draco loves to give hugs and he loves to play with the tennis ball.  Fetch anyone! Draco already has some great skills under his belt—he walks nicely on a leash, knows how to sit, and is eager to learn even more. His eagerness to please paired with his affectionate personality makes him not only a wonderful pet but also an easy and rewarding dog to train. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and endlessly sweet companion who will fill your days with devotion and joy, Draco may be the perfect fit for your family. How do I act when I first meet new people? Draco loves people. Everyone is a new best friend. Other tips and tidbits: The shelter estimated Draco at 3 years old. We have no history or paperwork on his life pre-rescue. We celebrate his birthday 09/21/2022. On October 11, a caregiver left the bottom latch of Draco's crate unlatched.  Draco got out of the unlatched side of his crate and proceeded to rip through the trash can that was in his cottage and then found a mouse trap and ate the bait that was inside.  Draco went home with our director that night for observation and fortunately, he must have a cast iron stomach because he had absolutely no repercussions from his mischievous actions.  Our director took him home.  She has since lost 3 loaves of bread, several tins of muffins and a bag of bagels and a bag of cotton candy.  All of this happens when a human leaves the house, not when we are home.  When we are home he's an angel.  We now crate Dracon when we leave (which is seldom) and make sure that bottom latch is secure.  He has so far not tried again to escape a properly latched crate.     House trained?  Draco has done very well in this department in his foster.  He did let loose once in the kitchen but he had only been with us about 24 hours and we think we did not read his signals.  He goes to the door to let us know it's time to go.  Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. Arnie is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Arnie has a previous injury to his left knee of unknown injury. It creates some stiffness in his leg when he walks. No marathons for this boy! Radiographs completed by our veterinarian will be provided. There is no recommended medical intervention. Arnie was found as a stray, so we have absolutely no history on him. Our best guess is that he is a standard poodle mix. We cannot guarantee that he is hypoallergenic or that he won't shed. Weight: 53 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Arnie is a gentle, wonderful boy that is versatile in many homes. What he wants is you - a family to call his own and do things with. Arnie is equal parts chill and play. He is good with other dogs but would be equally happy as your only dog. He'd love to go for walks and short hikes (see medical notes above on a previous injury that makes a leg stiff at times) and then relax with you in the evenings. What is my personality like? Arnie is an estimated 9.5-year-old Standard Poodle mix with just the right mix of experience, confidence, and joy for life. He’s a distinguished gentleman with a playful spirit — the kind of dog who’s seen a bit of the world, knows what he likes, and is ready to share his next great adventure with you. With his proud posture and kind eyes, Arnie carries himself with quiet confidence. He’s past the puppy chaos, but don’t let his age fool you — this boy still has plenty of pep in his step! Arnie loves getting outside, exploring trails, and taking in every new scent the world has to offer. Whether it’s a long hike through the woods or a peaceful walk around the neighborhood, Arnie is happiest when he’s out and about with his favorite person by his side. Arnie came to us as a stray, so we don’t know much about his past. But we have every reason to believe he’s possibly lived in a home before. There’s a familiarity in the way he looks to people for guidance, the way he relaxes around kindness, and the way he seems to remember what “home” feels like. With a little patience and gentle structure, we’re confident Arnie will settle into a household routine with ease — as though he’s simply remembering a life he once knew. When it comes to other dogs, Arnie can hold his own. He’d do well as the only dog in the home, soaking up all your love and attention, or with another calm, confident companion who matches his mature energy. He’s not one for chaos or small, overly excitable dogs — Arnie prefers peaceful company and good vibes. Despite his refined demeanor, Arnie still has a goofy side. He loves playtime, a good romp in the yard, and those spontaneous moments of joy that remind you he’s still got that spark of puppyhood tucked inside. And after a day of adventure, he’s all about curling up beside you for a well-earned rest — content, calm, and completely devoted. If you’re looking for a faithful friend who’s always up for a hike, a walk, or just a quiet evening by your side, Arnie is ready to join you on every step of life’s journey. He’s the perfect balance of energy, affection, and experience — the kind of companion who makes every day a little brighter. How do I act when I first meet new people? Arnie is a distinguished gentleman. He walks into a room with confidence and poise, eager to meet new friends but not overly rambunctious. Other tips and tidbits: Arnie was found as a stray, so we have absolutely no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition, he is estimated at 9 years old. We celebrate his birthday 10/18/2016. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. November 4, 2025, 11:54 am

Story
We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 11/05/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Dior was surrendered by a caring citizen that rescued him from a poor situation Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Dior is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.  Weight: 52 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes, Dior requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller.  What kind of home would be best for me? Dior is a young, happy, active boy looking for an active family to match his energy and personality. This handsome guy loves to play, especially with dogs his own size. He has a big, exuberant play style that can be a little too much for smaller pups, so Dior will thrive with canine friends who can match his energy. No small dogs or cats for this boy! Dior would do wonderfully as an only dog soaking up all the attention, or as a companion to another large dog who appreciates active play. Dior is a fan of people and has a sweet, affectionate spirit that suggests he’d adore having kids to love. He gives the best “poodle hugs,” happily wrapping himself around you with all the warmth he has to offer. Whether he’s romping in the sunshine or leaning against you for attention, Dior gives his whole heart. What is my personality like? Dior is a stunning white Standard Poodle with a lot of love and energy to give. He is the perfect mix of joyful energy and soft, snuggly sweetness—a dog who can sprint across the yard with all his enthusiasm one moment and curl up beside you for couch cuddles the next. If you’re looking for a companion who brings both liveliness and affection into your home, Dior is your boy. He already knows how to sit and offers it eagerly, especially if he thinks it might lead to praise or a treat. He could use a bit more polishing on the leash—excitement sometimes gets the best of him, and he may pull when he’s ready to go—but he’s smart, willing, and more than capable of learning with consistent guidance. Once he’s clipped into the leash, he’s thrilled to follow you anywhere and everywhere. Dior is a true cuddle bug at heart, always ready for affection when he’s not busy chasing fun. If you’re searching for a loving, playful, loyal partner to share your days, Dior is ready to bring sunshine, snuggles, and endless charm into your life. How do I act when I first meet new people? Dior is a happy, affectionate dog who greets with enthusiasm and a smile. Other tips and tidbits: The individual that surrendered Dior to rescue stated he was between 2-3 years old. We have no history on him pre-rescue. Our veterinarian confirmed an age estimate of 2 years based on his overall health and condition. We celebrate his birthday 11/05/2023. House trained?
