Story
Meet Harry – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Forever Family Harry is a handsome 62-pound Standard Poodle with a heart as big as his beautiful smile. Born on August 1, 2019, this sweet, neutered boy has spent his entire life with one family. Sadly, as life became busier with three young children, they made the difficult decision to find Harry a home where he can receive the time and attention he deserves. Understandably, Harry is a little bewildered by all the recent changes, but through it all he has remained the gentle, loving, and well-mannered boy he's always been. He is incredibly smart, affectionate, and eager to be someone's loyal best friend again. Harry is: 7-year-old black and white Standard Poodle  Neutered  Up to date on vaccinations  House trained  Crate trained  Walks nicely on a leash  Loves car rides  Great with other dogs  Friendly with children  Well-behaved, playful, and affectionate Harry enjoys spending time with his people, going for walks, riding in the car, and making new canine friends. Whether it's an afternoon adventure or a quiet evening relaxing at home, he's happiest simply being part of the family. What Harry wants most isn't fancy toys or a big backyard—it's a family that will love him for the rest of his life. After losing the only home he's ever known, he deserves a forever family that will cherish him and never let his heart be broken again. If you think Harry could be the missing piece of your family, please complete an adoption application at www.legacyhumanesociety.org. His foster mom will be in touch to tell you more about this wonderful boy and help you meet your new best friend.  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Say “Hi” to Dodger! Dodger is a 3.5 year old (estimated age) Poodle, Schnauzer, Hound Mix. He was adopted from a shelter in Arlington and had come in as a stray so his full background is unknown. He is house trained and has never had an accident in the house. He was given a hedgehog toy at his first vet well check and it is his best friend (takes it everywhere, sleeps with it) and will wave it around to let you know he has to go outside. He is good with children but did show some aggression regarding food towards dogs while we were on vacation. Not sure if it was because he felt uneasy and was away from his normal surroundings. I am unsure if he is good with cats. He will lay his head on your arms and legs and loves to cuddle with my grandsons. He does get anxious and barks when men wear baseball caps. He loves to go for walks and be outside so a yard would be nice for him. No health concerns and is up to date on his vaccines.

Story
Meet Harmony! A 9 month old, 29 pound, Female, Doodle mix pup. Harmony, like any puppy, is a high-energy girl who is looking for her daily joys of running as fast as she can, playing with her toys and having anyone and everyone become her instant best friend. Harmony has lots of puppy behavior and would do best in a home that can give her strict and dilient training. If you’re searching for a dog who brings pure joy, laughter, and a whole lot of personality, Harmony might be the girl for you. This energetic, playful, endlessly enthusiastic girl is a one-dog pep rally, ready to cheer up during the mid-week work day. Harmony thrives on attention, and bonds quickly with anyone who gives her a chance. With a little structure and a lot of love, she’ll blossom into the loyal, affectionate companion she’s meant to be. Harmony might suit best as a sole dog of a home, soaking up all the attention, but with the right play mate, she could do great with another dog friend. Story
Adrian recently had a dental cleaning and a mass removal on his shoulder. He is healing beautifully and ready to find his forever home. Adrian is 14 years old, weighs 40 lbs and is looking for a special home that understands the needs of a senior dog. Adrian is a sweet, affectionate little shadow who wants to be wherever his person is. He’s a true velcro dog, if you move, he’s right behind you. His favorite place is curled up next to you on the couch, and if he can’t be there, he will happily settle at your feet. He also loves donut-style beds and cozy enclosed spaces, and often chooses to nap in the hallway. Despite his age, Adrian still enjoys a short game of fetch if the ball is tossed right in front of him. He walks beautifully on a leash and stays right by your side. As a senior, Adrian does have some special needs. He has limited vision, especially at night, and can become disoriented. The veterinarian believes some of his pacing and nighttime howling may be related to pain, cognitive decline, or a combination of both. Because he doesn’t always know where he is and can’t see well, he may bump into furniture, walls, or other dogs. His current medications include: • Gabapentin 200 mg every 12 hours for pain (can be given up to 3 times daily if needed) • Denamarin once daily for liver support • Trazodone 100 mg at bedtime, given with Gabapentin if he is pacing or howling at night Adrian prefers soft foods, though he will occasionally crunch on treats. He isn’t very interested in toys or bones. Grooming is important for Adrian’s comfort. His coat must be kept short, especially during warm weather, as he overheats easily. Hair around his eyes should be trimmed so he can see, and his paws should be kept neat to help him maintain traction while wearing his Tiger Toes. He tolerates his ear cleaning, and regular grooming helps keep him comfortable. Adrian is looking for a calm, loving home where he can spend his golden years being someone’s constant companion. He may require a little extra care, but he gives plenty of love in return. Adrian needs someone that works from home or is home the majority of the day. He does fantastic with other dogs, but if there is another dog in the home they need to be gentle and low energy. If you are interested in adopting Adrian, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. Story
From a scared boy in the shelter to a dog who is learning to trust the world around him, Bucky has made incredible progress during his time with Rescue Row. Bucky is a sweetheart who truly wants to please his people. When he first arrived, he followed his foster mom everywhere and struggled when she was out of sight. Now, he is learning to relax and settle independently. He has also made great improvements with crate time when his foster family leaves the house. His foster family believes Bucky may not have been properly socialized before joining Rescue Row. Meeting new people can still be scary for him, especially when visitors enter the home or try to pet him. Recently, our trainers spent time observing Bucky and provided his foster family with helpful tools to build his confidence when guests visit. We are happy to report that Bucky has been doing well with the foster family’s out-of-town guests! He also has training sessions and will continue working on his leash manners. At over 60 pounds, Bucky is a strong boy, so learning to walk politely on leash is an important skill. One of Bucky’s biggest accomplishments happened. Since joining his foster family, he had never climbed onto the couch to relax with them. He would ask for pets and affection but preferred to keep his distance. His foster family knew that with time and patience, he would eventually feel comfortable enough to snuggle. Their patience paid off when Bucky surprised his foster mom by hopping onto the couch and staying for a cuddle session. It was a special moment that showed just how far he has come. Bucky is looking for a family that will continue to be patient as he builds trust and confidence. He will do best with another playful dog who can help show him the ropes and encourage him to be brave. In return, his future family will gain a loyal, loving companion who is worth every bit of the journey. He needs someone home most of the time and no apartments.  If you’re looking for a sweet dog and are willing to give him the time he needs to blossom, Bucky may be the perfect match for you Bucky is a 10-month-old German Shepherd/Poodle/Golden Retriever mix and currently weighs about 60 lbs. If you are interested in adopting, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org. *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 48 hours.
