Story
Adrian recently had a dental cleaning and a mass removal on his shoulder. He is healing beautifully and ready to find his forever home. Adrian is 14 years old, weighs 40 lbs and is looking for a special home that understands the needs of a senior dog. Adrian is a sweet, affectionate little shadow who wants to be wherever his person is. He’s a true velcro dog, if you move, he’s right behind you. His favorite place is curled up next to you on the couch, and if he can’t be there, he will happily settle at your feet. He also loves donut-style beds and cozy enclosed spaces, and often chooses to nap in the hallway. Despite his age, Adrian still enjoys a short game of fetch if the ball is tossed right in front of him. He walks beautifully on a leash and stays right by your side. As a senior, Adrian does have some special needs. He has limited vision, especially at night, and can become disoriented. The veterinarian believes some of his pacing and nighttime howling may be related to pain, cognitive decline, or a combination of both. Because he doesn’t always know where he is and can’t see well, he may bump into furniture, walls, or other dogs. His current medications include: • Gabapentin 200 mg every 12 hours for pain (can be given up to 3 times daily if needed) • Denamarin once daily for liver support • Trazodone 100 mg at bedtime, given with Gabapentin if he is pacing or howling at night Adrian prefers soft foods, though he will occasionally crunch on treats. He isn’t very interested in toys or bones. Grooming is important for Adrian’s comfort. His coat must be kept short, especially during warm weather, as he overheats easily. Hair around his eyes should be trimmed so he can see, and his paws should be kept neat to help him maintain traction while wearing his Tiger Toes. He tolerates his ear cleaning, and regular grooming helps keep him comfortable. Adrian is looking for a calm, loving home where he can spend his golden years being someone’s constant companion. He may require a little extra care, but he gives plenty of love in return. Adrian needs someone that works from home or is home the majority of the day. He does fantastic with other dogs, but if there is another dog in the home they need to be gentle and low energy. If you are interested in adopting Adrian, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2735940##

Story
If you’re looking for a loyal cuddle buddy who thinks humans are the best thing on earth, Tux might be your perfect match. Tux was born December 16, 2019 and came home with me on Valentine’s Day 2020. Just a few weeks later the world shut down for COVID, so he grew up during a time when we were together constantly. Because of that, he’s incredibly bonded to his person and loves being close to his humans. Tux is very smart, affectionate, and crate trained. He’s a big cuddler and happiest hanging out with his people, whether that’s relaxing on the couch or keeping you company around the house. He tends to love people even more than other dogs. Because he grew up during the pandemic, he’s very attached to his person and does best in a home where he gets lots of companionship. Tux is loving, loyal, and full of personality and will make an amazing companion for the right home.

Story
DOB: 3/27/2023 Weight: 70-80 lbs.  Alfie is a handsome 3-year-old Great Dane/Poodle mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and in excellent health.   Alfie is a gentle giant who absolutely adores people. He has been raised in a home with four children and is incredibly loving, patient, and affectionate with kids of all ages. He enjoys being close to his family, lounging indoors, and soaking up attention from his favorite humans.   Alfie is crate trained, leash trained, and understands basic household routines. He knows basic commands such as sit and down, and he is eager to please. He is intelligent, affectionate, and thrives when he receives consistent structure and attention. Whether he's spending time with his family or showing off his good manners, Alfie is happiest when he is included in everyday life.   One of Alfie's favorite activities is going for car rides. He happily loads up and enjoys being part of the adventure, whether it's a quick trip around town or a longer outing. He also does exceptionally well when boarded and adjusts comfortably to boarding environments, making him an easy companion for families who travel or occasionally need pet care services.   Alfie currently lives with another large dog and has been successful in that environment. However, he can be selective about other animals and would benefit from slow, proper introductions to any new pets. Because every dog relationship is different, we believe Alfie would thrive either as an only pet receiving all of the attention or in a home with an experienced owner who is willing to carefully manage introductions and ensure a good fit.   Alfie enjoys having space to stretch his long legs, explore, and spend time outdoors, so a securely fenced yard would be ideal for him. While he enjoys outdoor time, he is happiest when he is with his family and included in daily life.   Alfie has so much love to give and deserves a home that understands his needs and can provide the attention, stability, and companionship he craves. In return, he will reward his family with endless loyalty, affection, and plenty of goofy Great Dane charm. He's neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and will be tested for heartworms very soon. His adoption fee is $275 and you can apply here if you're interested: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
From a scared boy in the shelter to a dog who is learning to trust the world around him, Bucky has made incredible progress during his time with Rescue Row. Bucky is a sweetheart who truly wants to please his people. When he first arrived, he followed his foster mom everywhere and struggled when she was out of sight. Now, he is learning to relax and settle independently. He has also made great improvements with crate time when his foster family leaves the house. His foster family believes Bucky may not have been properly socialized before joining Rescue Row. Meeting new people can still be scary for him, especially when visitors enter the home or try to pet him. Recently, our trainers spent time observing Bucky and provided his foster family with helpful tools to build his confidence when guests visit. We are happy to report that Bucky has been doing well with the foster family’s out-of-town guests! He also has training sessions and will continue working on his leash manners. At over 60 pounds, Bucky is a strong boy, so learning to walk politely on leash is an important skill. One of Bucky’s biggest accomplishments happened. Since joining his foster family, he had never climbed onto the couch to relax with them. He would ask for pets and affection but preferred to keep his distance. His foster family knew that with time and patience, he would eventually feel comfortable enough to snuggle. Their patience paid off when Bucky surprised his foster mom by hopping onto the couch and staying for a cuddle session. It was a special moment that showed just how far he has come. Bucky is looking for a family that will continue to be patient as he builds trust and confidence. He will do best with another playful dog who can help show him the ropes and encourage him to be brave. In return, his future family will gain a loyal, loving companion who is worth every bit of the journey. He needs someone home most of the time and no apartments.  If you’re looking for a sweet dog and are willing to give him the time he needs to blossom, Bucky may be the perfect match for you Bucky is a 10-month-old German Shepherd/Poodle/Golden Retriever mix and currently weighs about 60 lbs. Story
Hudson was born in June, he is an F1b goldendoodle. Purchased from.a breeder($1400 on sale as the runt) his mom is a chocolate goldendoodle and his dad is a white standard poodle. He is about as sweet as they come. He would do best with an owner who is home and can be with him all or most of the time, if he is not kenneled. He will eat almost anything meaning socks, paper, toys, you name it. That is why he needs some eyes on him. Great with kids, other pets. He has been around another dog and 2 cats his entire life. His birthday is June 15, 2021. He is turning 5 this weekend. Fully house trained and while he can be hyper and vocal, he is also very calm on the flipside, most of the time actually. I have had some urgent recent health concerns and cannot have the added responsibility at this time sadly. We are crushed to lose him from our family. The small adoption fee is to ensure we get a serious home and family for him.Loves water, fetch, balls, going hiking and running around outside.
