Story
Meet Mellow Mick Jagger! This sweet guy once found himself at the shelter on the euthanasia list only for being scared of the leash, but those days are behind him thanks to positive reinforcement and CHEESE! :) He's fine on a leash now and enjoys a stroll in a calm neighborhood. He's crate trained, house-trained and good with people and dogs (hasn't been cat or kid tested yet). Jagger gets excited to see dogs through the fences, but then just sniffs and likes to chill in the yard with them and go on walks. He can be shy around strangers, but will walk up to a new human briefly and is fine with their soft pets, if he gets a premium STINKY cheese in return! ;) He’s so gentle! Mick honestly just wants to chill ALL day at home and wait for you to get home from your errands or hikes, rather than join you. Total home body kinda guy! Jagger is so ready for a forever home! Is that you? Jagger resides in Austin, TX now. If you are in Austin, too, fill out an adoption application on our site: www.pawsoflarescue.org/adoptabledogs-mickjagger

Story
Meet Santos! He is a 3 year old schnauzer/husky mix. He is a sweet, goofy boy who loves being with his human. Santos enjoys playing outside and like to play fetch; although he is still learning to give up the ball after retrieving it. He knows his sit command and is very treat motivated, but he still needs some training. Santos is about 50 pounds and does not realize his size and sometimes jumps on you or can be mouthy. He does however, respond well to correction, but needs someone who can use patience and positive reinforcement to give him guidance and boundaries he needs. He is a smart boy with lots of potential. Santos gets along with other dogs that are more on the submissive side and are smaller than him and he is totally fine with cats. He needs a more experienced dog owner that will give him the boundaries and rules he needs. He will also do best in an adult only home. Santos is full grown at 50 pounds. Our adoptions are restricted to residents within 30 miles of the South Bay area of Los Angeles. We do not ship animals or do long distance adoptions. See our adoption policies for more details on our adoption process. If you are interested in adopting one of our available pups, please complete an adoption application. Story
Meet Toto, he is a Carin Terrier mix, He and his friend Dorothy were found together but can be adopted separately. Tot is 4 years old and weighs 16 pounds. He is definitely on the timid side and pretty much just follows you on the leash or follows another dog around. Due to his shy demeanor he would not do well with little kids. Toto does play with Dorothy and other dogs but is not good around cats. Tot is neutered, chipped and ready for adoption. Tot's adoption fee is $150.00
