Story
Leo is the sweetest puppy! He is eight months old and is potty trained, but is still learning to not nip/jump up. He is very treat-oriented and intelligent and pretty easy to train. He loves to run and I normally take him out on a medium walk twice a day and most of the rest of the day he just lies around and chills. He gets puppy zoomies usually for 30 minutes in the evening but less so if he has gone on a run or hike. Note: While he is good with kids and other dogs once he's comfortable with them, he IS reactive so that's why I marked "no" on the key facts section. He loves playing with other dogs but he has been known to bark/show aggression towards dogs and people. For this reason a more experienced adopter would be better. I don't think having another dog is a dealbreaker but they'll just need to warm up to each other. He has all his shots and is neutered. Let me know if you would like to come meet him or even watch him for a week or so for a trial run!

Story
UPDATE: Jagger resides in Austin, TX now but is still available for adoption. Meet Mellow Mick Jagger! This sweet guy once found himself at the shelter on the euthanasia list only for being scared of the leash, but those days are behind him thanks to positive reinforcement and CHEESE! :) He's fine on a leash now and enjoys a stroll in a calm neighborhood. He's crate trained, house-trained and good with people and dogs (hasn't been cat or kid tested yet). Jagger gets excited to see dogs through the fences, but then just sniffs and likes to chill in the yard with them and go on walks. He can be shy around strangers, but will walk up to a new human briefly and is fine with their soft pets, if he gets a premium STINKY cheese in return! ;) He’s so gentle! Mick honestly just wants to chill ALL day at home and wait for you to get home from your errands or hikes, rather than join you. Total home body kinda guy! Jagger is so ready for a forever home! Is that you? If you are in Austin or close to Austin, fill out an adoption application on our site: www.pawsoflarescue.org/adoptabledogs-mickjagger

Story
Meet Santos! He is a 3 year old schnauzer/husky mix. He is a sweet, goofy boy who loves being with his human. Santos enjoys playing outside and like to play fetch; although he is still learning to give up the ball after retrieving it. He knows his sit command and is very treat motivated, but he still needs some training. Santos is about 50 pounds and does not realize his size and sometimes jumps on you or can be mouthy. He does however, respond well to correction, but needs someone who can use patience and positive reinforcement to give him guidance and boundaries he needs. He is a smart boy with lots of potential. Santos gets along with other dogs that are more on the submissive side and are smaller than him and he is totally fine with cats. He needs a more experienced dog owner that will give him the boundaries and rules he needs. He will also do best in an adult only home. Santos is full grown at 50 pounds. Our adoptions are restricted to residents within 30 miles of the South Bay area of Los Angeles. We do not ship animals or do long distance adoptions. See our adoption policies for more details on our adoption process. If you are interested in adopting one of our available pups, please complete an adoption application. Ziggy is a fun little terrier mix, about 8–10 pounds and close to 3 years old. He is full of energy, vibrant, cuddly, and guaranteed to make you smile every time you look at him. Ziggy is just the right size to curl up in your lap, be held in your arms, or travel along with you on visits and adventures. He is easygoing, good with people and other dogs, and although he hasn’t been introduced to cats yet, we think he would likely do fine with them too. This sweet boy is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and current on his shots—ready to start his new life with a lucky adopter. Ziggy is the kind of companion who will quickly become your best friend. His adoption fee is $450. Story
Ryder is the total package! This sweet and lovable Cairn terrier mix is the definition of a loyal companion. With a laid-back, easy-going nature, Ryder is happy to hang out with you on the couch or play fetch in the yard — especially if there are doggie snacks involved! Ryder was rescued at 8 weeks old from Hesperia Shelter, with a sibling who passed from parvo soon after they arrived. Ryder never developed parvo and has been healthy since that time. He gets along wonderfully with kids and other dogs, and his non-shedding coat makes him a great option for families who prefer less fur around the house. Ryder’s calm, affectionate, and loyal personality makes him an ideal addition to just about any home. He is microchipped, neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. Ryder is currently being fostered in San Bernadino County, CA and must be picked up from there. For adoption information, please contact AlphaDogPetRescue@yahoo.com
