Story
UPDATE: Jagger resides in Austin, TX now but is still available for adoption. Meet Mellow Mick Jagger! This sweet guy once found himself at the shelter on the euthanasia list only for being scared of the leash, but those days are behind him thanks to positive reinforcement and CHEESE! :) He's fine on a leash now and enjoys a stroll in a calm neighborhood. He's crate trained, house-trained and good with people and dogs (hasn't been cat or kid tested yet). Jagger gets excited to see dogs through the fences, but then just sniffs and likes to chill in the yard with them and go on walks. He can be shy around strangers, but will walk up to a new human briefly and is fine with their soft pets, if he gets a premium STINKY cheese in return! ;) He’s so gentle! Mick honestly just wants to chill ALL day at home and wait for you to get home from your errands or hikes, rather than join you. Total home body kinda guy! Jagger is so ready for a forever home! Is that you? If you are in Austin or close to Austin, fill out an adoption application on our site: www.pawsoflarescue.org/adoptabledogs-mickjagger

Story
Meet Urban Male DOB: June 14, 2021 Weight: 18 lbs Breed: Schnauzer Mix Neutered (Fixed) Vaccines: Up to Date Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Urban is a charming adult dog with a loving personality and a wonderful balance of energy and companionship. At 5 years old, he has moved beyond the puppy stage and settled into adulthood, making him an excellent choice for adopters looking for a dog with a mature temperament and established personality. Urban enjoys spending time with his people and being part of everyday life. Whether he's joining you for a walk, relaxing at home, or simply keeping you company throughout the day, he thrives on companionship and enjoys being included as part of the family. As a Schnauzer Mix, Urban is likely to be intelligent, alert, and eager to engage with his surroundings. Schnauzers are known for their loyalty, affectionate nature, and strong bonds with their families. They are wonderful companions who enjoy both activity and downtime with their favorite people. Urban would thrive in a home prepared for: Daily walks and exercise Continued training and guidance Mental stimulation and enrichment Positive socialization experiences Structure, consistency, and routine A lifelong commitment to his emotional and physical well-being His age makes him an ideal companion for adopters looking for a dog who still enjoys adventure and activity while having the maturity and stability that comes with adulthood. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should expect to continue training and support after adoption. Like all rescue dogs, Urban may need time to adjust to a new home, routine, and environment. Patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement will help him settle in and become the best version of himself. Urban will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Exercise and mental stimulation Patience, consistency, and supervision Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, guidance, and commitment, dogs like Urban blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes training, daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, financial responsibility, and emotional commitment throughout every stage of life. Urban will need: Daily walks, exercise, and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine veterinary care and wellness exams Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and weight management Regular grooming and coat maintenance Mental stimulation and enrichment A safe, stable, indoor living environment Because of his Schnauzer heritage, regular grooming and coat care will help keep him comfortable and looking his best. Consistent veterinary care, emotional stability, proper nutrition, and daily companionship are all essential to helping Urban thrive in his future home. Urban is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Story
Meet Lucky, a charming and soulful Schnauzer mix puppy who is about 4 months old as of mid-April! This darling boy has a heart of gold and a gentle spirit that truly shines once he knows he’s in a safe, loving environment. While he can be a little modest when meeting new friends, his "slow-to-warm-up" nature just makes it that much more rewarding when he chooses you as his person. Once that bond is formed, Lucky transforms into a playful, affectionate cuddle-bug who will quickly become the highlight of your day. Lucky is a dream when it comes to his home routine. He is a thoughtful and patient companion who sleeps soundly from 9:00 PM to 6:30 AM, politely waiting for his humans to wake up before asking for morning snuggles. He is already doing wonderfully with his training, being proficient with indoor pee pads while also being a very efficient "pro" at going potty outside. He already knows "sit" and is eager to keep learning! While he loves to be near his favorite people, he is also capable of settling down calmly in his own space after a few minutes of transition. When it’s time for fun, Lucky is like a little flash of lightning! As an active Schnauzer mix, he loves his two daily walks and is famous for finding "treasures"—he often picks up a small stick to carry proudly during his strolls, a sight that is guaranteed to make you smile. He is fantastic with other dogs and full of playfulness, and he is currently working on honing his social etiquette with great enthusiasm. Lucky is ready to start his new life with his best foot forward, as all of his shots and his neuter will be provided for. If you are looking for a loyal, fast, and incredibly sweet companion who will treat you like the center of his world, Lucky is waiting for you! Ready to bring Lucky home? Please submit an adoption application today! ##2680570##

Meet Kai, a charming 4-month-old Schnauzer mix puppy who is officially looking for his forever home! At 15lbs, Kai is a bright and active companion who balances his playful energy with a very sweet, affectionate nature. He is already off to a fantastic start with his manners; he is crate trained and mostly potty trained to go outside, making his transition into a new home that much smoother. Kai is a little star when it comes to training. He already knows how to "sit" and "lay down," and because he is so eager to learn, he would excel with an owner who loves teaching new tricks. When he isn’t showing off his skills, his favorite pastime is a game of fetch. Despite his puppy energy, he isn’t much of a barker, and his gentle temperament makes him a wonderful fit for families with children. For the adventurous at heart, Kai is the ultimate sidekick. He thrives on exploration and is ready to join you on daily walks, trips to the beach, or even tagging along for a bike ride. He truly loves being a companion and wants to be wherever his people are. Al of his shots and his neuter are provided. If you’re looking for a smart, active, and loving pup to complete your family, Kai is ready to start his next great adventure! Interested in making Kai a part of your family? Please submit an adoption application today! ##2680567##
