NAME:ButtonSTATS:Male, Schauzer/wire haired terrier mix, 2 years, 25 lbs.TEMPERAMENT:Friendly.Active (may be good at agility training).Playful, but not overly so.Needs to be around his people.SKILLSPotty trained.Leash trained.Good with dogs.Would make a great hiking buddy.Highly intelligent.Has not been exposed to children, but we feel gentle children over 8 would be fine.Has not been exposed to cats.Plays with all 3 of his foster siblings every day.MORE ABOUT ME:Likes belly rubs.Couch cuddler.Likes walks.Likes playing with other dogs.Submissive.Suggest training (basic manners).ONE LAST THING:Button is what I like to call a 'plug & play' dog. He integrated into our pack seamlessly & almost instantly, so I believe he would do the same with his forever family. He's a great dog. He learned the dog door after the first time one of our dogs showed him how. He hasn't had an accident in the house since the first day. He loves walks & has even been great on off-leash hikes. He's good in the car. He is not a door dasher & will stay close when outside. He loves being close to his people & is never out of my sight unless he is playing or pottying outside. He loves to snuggle & (don't tell anyone!) sleeps in our bed.December 26, 2025, 4:51 pm

She’s house-trained, sleeps through the night, and would happily curl up beside you for cuddles once the day is done. While she can be a bit shy at first, her loyalty runs deep—once she bonds with you, she truly becomes your dog. Layla is being fostered on a farm, so she’s confident around big machinery, gentle with horses, and other animals. She’s smart, food-motivated, and highly trainable, with great recall and wonderful manners. She loves car rides, adores other dogs, and is fantastic with people and kids. No food aggression, just a sweet soul who wants to belong. She’ll benefit from some leash work (farm life didn’t require much!), and she would thrive in a home with a big family and a confident “model” dog to help guide her as she continues to mature. Breed: Collie / Retriever / Schnauzer mix Size: Medium, expected to mature under 50 lbs ✨ Layla’s Highlights: • House trained • Calm, gentle, and kind-hearted • Loyal and people-oriented • Great recall & highly trainable • Loves dogs, kids, and people • Excellent in the car • No food aggression • Sleeps through the night & loves to cuddle • Comfortable around farm animals and machinery Layla does like to snuggle close and may try to “claim” her person on the bed—she’s a devoted companion who loves deeply. Story
Sophie is a tiny 7-lb terrier mix with a big personality and a deep love for her people. She came from a very loving home, but when her owner had to move into assisted care, Sophie sadly couldn’t come along. Despite the change, she remains a truly darling girl who bonds closely with her person. Sophie warms up quickly once she’s familiar with your face and feels safe. She strongly prefers women, as men tend to make her nervous. Once she trusts you, she’s incredibly affectionate—she loves curling up on laps, staying close, and exploring her surroundings with curiosity. Sophie would do best as the only dog in the home. While she can tolerate other dogs, she is most comfortable having her people, food, and toys to herself, and she thrives when she doesn’t have to compete for attention. She is spayed and up to date on all vaccines, and looking for a calm, understanding home where she can be the center of someone’s world. If you’re a woman looking for a devoted little companion who wants nothing more than to love you, Sophie may be your perfect match. 💛🐾

Story
Gondo is a charming 4-year-old schnauzer–terrier mix who came to us from a hoarding situation in the Central Valley. Despite a rough start, Gondo is showing just how much potential he has and is blossoming more every day in foster care. Gondo is a smart, curious little guy and a fast learner. He’s currently working on commands like sit, up, and off—and he’s picking them up quickly. He can be a bit of a climber (countertops beware!), but with clear boundaries and guidance, he’s eager to please and learn the rules. He has big opinions about food and definitely knows what he likes! His favorites include frozen yogurt, chicken broth, and Royal Canin kibble—great motivators for training and bonding. Gondo does well on leash and enjoys slow, treat-filled walks where he can sniff and explore the world at his own pace. He’s happiest wearing a harness that slips over his head and clips underneath. Stairs are a bit of a question mark for him—sometimes he’s hesitant, sometimes confident—so a home that’s patient and observant as he figures that out would be ideal. During the day, Gondo does wonderfully in an office or work-from-home environment, happily relaxing with short walks sprinkled throughout. In the evenings, his playful side comes out with bursts of energy—he especially loves amusing himself by playing with his reflection in mirrors! With structure, patience, and love, Gondo is going to be a loyal, entertaining, and deeply rewarding companion. He’s ready for a home that will continue building his confidence and help him shine. 💛

Story
Rex is a 4-year-old wirehair terrier who came to us from a heartbreaking hoarding case in the Central Valley. Despite his past, Rex’s true terrier spirit shines through—he’s energetic, determined, and full of personality. True to his wirehair terrier roots, Rex is smart, bold, and independent. He likes to know what’s going on and isn’t afraid to voice his opinions. He can be a bit stubborn at times (classic terrier!), but that determination also means he’s engaged, alert, and deeply loyal once he bonds with you. With patience and consistency, Rex is a truly lovable companion who thrives on structure and routine. Rex would do best in an adult-only home, and this is actually a huge plus for him. Without the unpredictability of children, Rex can fully relax, settle in, and build a strong, trusting bond with his person. He’s the kind of dog who will flourish in a calm, confident household where his boundaries are respected and his personality is appreciated. He’s best suited for someone who understands terriers—or is excited to learn—and who enjoys an active, interactive dog with character. Rex isn’t looking for chaos; he’s looking for his person, a home where he can feel safe, understood, and loved. If you’re seeking a loyal sidekick with spunk, intelligence, and a big heart beneath that wiry coat, Rex might just be your perfect match. 💛
