Story
This plucky little guy will get you with his puppy dog eyes. We believe he is a mix of mini Schnauzer and Westie. At about 9 months old, he weighs 15 pounds and should max out at 20 pounds.  Mendy loves all humans and doesn't believe in personal space, however he does not seem to be fond of other dogs in his home. Hopefully as he settles into his foster home and begins training, he will begin to accept other animals. Mendy is already neutered and up to date on vaccinations and heartworm testing.  He loves to fetch, is fully crate trained and almost fully housebroken.  He seems to be very intelligent and has already mastered "sit". Mendy is also in need of surgery to fix a congenital condition (Legg-Calves-Perthes Disease) causing pain in his rear leg and making it difficult for him to walk. He may never have a perfect gait, but the surgery should eliminate any pain. We will be doing this surgery in the next week. Applications for Mendy can be found at www.chesed-rescue.org/adoptions. We background and vet check all applicants and are looking for stable homes.  January 20, 2026, 9:03 am
