Story
If you ever wanted a dog who dances for attention, smiles with an adorable underbite snaggletooth, and acts like every human is his favorite human, well congratulations! Your search is over because Curly Boy is exactly that. He doesn't just walk into a room, he performs. Little paw taps, happy wiggles, and a grin that looks like he knows exactly how cute he is. Whether he's dancing his way into your heart or flashing that perfectly imperfect smile, Curly Boy's personality is pure joy wrapped in a tiny, curly tailed body. Basically, if happiness had a snaggletooth and a dance move, it would be Curly Boy. Watch his video and fall in love with his dancing cutie: https://youtu.be/j3gKngGv2JE?si=RwTiFsCUdme-5FIS At just 6 months old and 14 pounds, Curly Boy is the perfect small-sized sidekick believed to be a Schnauzer/Shih Tzu mix with a curly tail that never stops showing off his joy. That perky curl is basically a preview of who he is: cheerful, affectionate, and completely irresistible. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Curly Boy is extremely people-oriented and thrives on love. He’s the kind of pup who wants to be close. Snuggling, cuddling, and handing out sweet kisses like it’s his full-time job. If you’re looking for a dog who truly bonds with his person, Curly Boy is your guy. What really sets him apart? His entertainment factor is off the charts. He loves to “dance” and uses his paws to politely (and adorably) tap you for attention. He scratches his own back by doing the cutest little back wiggle almost as if he’s giving you a break dance show and crawls along the floor like a Navy SEAL. He knows exactly how to make everyone laugh. Watching him is pure joy. Curly Boy loves toys too! Some of his favorite toys are kongs, balls, anything he can chase, carry, and proudly show off. He’s happy playing with other small dogs and running around with them, but he’s also great at entertaining himself when playtime winds down. Curly also does great with dogs way bigger than him and he doesn’t get intimated by their size either. He makes doggy friends easily. Inside the home, he’s an absolute dream. Curly Boy is crate trained, quiet, and well-mannered, with no unnecessary barking. He’s gentle with his mouth, listens beautifully, and is incredibly responsive. Especially when you call his name and tell him how handsome he is. He’ll sit and pose like he knows he’s being admired. He’s also a fantastic walking buddy, making him perfect for someone who enjoys neighborhood strolls or mini hikes. Car rides? Big fan. One of his cutest habits is sitting behind your neck in the car so he can look out the window like the co-pilot he believes he is. Curly Boy is playful, affectionate, funny, and full of love. He’s the kind of dog who makes every day brighter just by being himself and he’s ready to bring that happiness home for good. We can see him thriving in a home with a backyard and we also believe he would thrive in an apartment/condo. He doesn't require much exercise, a simple walk around the neighborhood, play time with his new fur siblings, or play time with his human is all he needs. He's also happy to just snuggle with you on the couch while you binge watch your favorite show. It doesn't take much to make him happy. He just wants to be loved and be with his people and he's a happy dancing boy. If you’re searching for a small dog with a huge heart, endless charm, and a curly tail that never quits, Curly Boy is ready to meet you. We are willing to test Curly Boy with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ZnVouAvph-c Axle is a young adult boy who weighs about 40 lbs. He is the absolute sweetest boy who loves cuddles and gets along great with dogs of all sizes and with cats. He is very calm and only gets excited when you direct your attention towards him. He doesn't jump or paw at you. In the video he was terrified in a shelter with a 100 dogs barking so that level of excitement is not his normal. He has wavy/curly hair but it's soft, not wiry. He is an absolute gem. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative).
