Story
Sweet Trixie was on the euthanasia list in Texas, and we just couldn't let her story end like that! We are now looking for her furever family that will give her all the love. Trixie had a mast cell tumor removed. It may never come back… or it might. There really is no way to know. What we do know is that right now she is a happy lady who loves her humans, has a lot of love to give and brings joy to everyone that meets her! Her life was worth saving. Can you resist her super cute scruffy face? She loves kisses, nuzzling, and snuggling right next to you or on your lap. Her tail wags and she stares into your eyes. If she can't find room on your lap she will lay by your feet just to be near you. She is SO LOVING! Trixie is 6 years old and weighs 47 pounds. She is being fostered in Houston, Texas with another dog - who she loves to play with and share toys with. She loves everyone and every dog! We think she is a schnauzer mix, but we aren’t positive. We just call her our Texas Special, which is the very best breed. One of Trixie’s amazing qualities is that her energy level usually matches the situation. She is mostly laid back, but gets excited when her foster comes home, when she gets to be around other people or dogs and go places. She gets bursts of energy and really wants to play. She tries to engage her housemate (20 pound poodle mix) to play with her, but if the poodle is not interested she will eventually give up, get the zoomies around the house or yard, throw toys in the air, then collapse in exhaustion. It is so cute to watch! She loves to play with her front paws, chase and be chased by other dogs. Trixie could live in a house or an apartment (if she doesn’t have to go up stairs). She rarely barks unless her buddies are barking, but even then she loses interest in barking quickly. Trixie is a smart girl and very food motivated, but don’t worry, she doesn’t counter surf. She knows sit, down (lay down), stay, come, off, up, leave it and her release is "all done". She is working on her leash skills and would love to continue working on them with her forever family. Being so smart and food motivated, she will learn fast. Looking for a friend to grab a morning coffee or take the kids to school? A late night ice cream run? Trixie loves to ride in the car and would be happy to join you anywhere you go. She sits up or lays on the seat quietly enjoying the ride! She is confident, curious and friendly in new situations so she is easy to take places. All heads will turn when they see her, so you will get lots of attention. Trixie has older hips so she isn’t one for long walks, just short adventures please! She has past trauma to her hips that is well healed over. Two doctors have seen her and recommend joint supplements and pain medications for the rest of her life. She can’t climb stairs, jump in the car or take super long walks, but it doesn't slow her down when it comes to playing and running around with other dogs or joining her family at dog friendly restaurants or coffee shops. Potty trained?? 100% She can ring a bell or use a doggie door Crate trained? Trixie is quiet in crate The fosters says she can be left out of the crate 24/7 without incident (no chewing, barking or potty accidents). As a rescue, we do ask you to crate her for a while until she is acclimated to her new home. Although Trixie does not live with cats, she has been around cats and tried to play with them. The cat wasn't thrilled… but she tried. We believe she could live with cats if she had proper introductions and training. If Trixie sounds like the perfect dog for your family, please apply for her here so we can see if you are a great match. Application link:https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/65f8cfb06d3bd66e990dd0a9 Please email Jodi@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Available for adoption to anywhere in the US. We transport near or into NV, MT, CO,UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and now the East Coast! Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van or bus transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. We can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $750 and includes all vetting per our veterinarian: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery, flea prevention, 2-6 months of heartworm preventative according to age, heartworm testing and heartworm treatment if applicable, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge for transport. DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics, and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/65f8cfb06d3bd66e990dd0a9

Airedale Terrier + Labrador Retriever Mix 1 year old Male 71 pounds Kids · 8+ Dogs · Yes Cats · No If you are looking for a fun-filled fella then “I Gus” I am just what you’re looking for. Searching for a dog who’s smart, adventurous, and eager to please? Well then, “I Gus” you’ve found him right here. I’m an intelligent young man who will enjoy joining you on weekend camping trips, long hikes, and evenings cuddling on the couch. Trips to the beach would be awesome too, a fond reminder of my homeland of Maui. Coffee shops and city walks might not be my speed, since meeting people on leash isn’t really my strongest skill but I sure do love a good time! Other dogs are fine by me, in fact I love to play, but I don’t enjoy sharing my goodies, and I’d venture to “Gus” that your sturdy children 8+ would adore having me as their pal. I’m housebroken and already crate trained, but I’m looking for you to provide me the love, structure, and comfort I need to settle right into your family. Why keep “Gussing” about it? Hurry on in and meet me! My adoption fee is $200 and includes microchip & registration, neuter, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Story
Hi there, I'm Riley and I am Rosie's brother. I am a one year old wire haired terrier around 40 lbs. I am a sweet boy who is good with the peoples of all sizes and with other dogs when I get the chance for a proper introduction. I don't have any experience with those cat things, but being a Terrier mix, I might not be the best fit. I can be a little shy at first but I warm up quickly and then you and I will be fast friends. My sister and I were pulled from the streets and so she is a little needy of her "big" brother so if you would love double the fun we would really like to stay together. *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*

Story
Col. Potter Cairn Terrier Rescue www.cairnrescue.comDon Diego is a sweet little 16-year-old Cairn Terrier. He is mostly deaf, and mostly blind-- blind in one eye and not much vision in the other. He gets along fine with his keen sense of smell. As with many older pups, he has some health issues, so he is on a few medications. His foster home also has another dog, as well as 2 cats, and he gets along well with them all. He loves to go for walks, but he has some arthritis, so he can only walk shorter distances. He loves to eat, and he will even snatch food away from you, when you're not looking. When he isn't roaming around the house, motoring, he is usually snoozing.FOR LOTS MORE INFORMATION ON DON DIEGO ENTER OR COPY THIS LINK ONTO YOUR WEB BROWSER:https://www.cairnrescue.com/store/dogs/ San Diego, CA in a PRIVATE FOSTER HOME but we allow our dogs to be adopted out all over the United States and Canada!LEARN OUR 'ADOPTION FAQS': Any questions that you may have about our adoption process, fees, transporting a dog, and our policy not to adopt to families with small children, can be answered at our main website or going directly to this link: https://www.cairnrescue.com/service/faq/ IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU READ THE FAQ'S BEFORE COMPLETING AN APPLICATION.
