Life's been a magical whirlwind. Once, I was a star in a canine circus, leaping through hoops and charming crowds with my goofy antics. One day, I found a magical collar. Putting it on, I was transported here, to this shelter! It's not the circus, but I've made friends and we have fun. I'm a sweet, playful girl who loves to make people laugh. I promise, with me around, life will never be dull. So, how about it? Fancy adding a sprinkle of magic to your life with a circus star like me?May 16, 2024, 9:20 am

Just your average, sweet, curious pup. So, here's a funny tale about how I landed up here. One day, I was playing with my human's shoes, you know, the usual dog stuff. But, oops! I accidentally sent one flying right into the fish tank! Can you believe it? A shoe-fish! My human couldn't stop laughing. But, they also realized they weren't quite ready for my playful energy. So, here I am, ready to find a new home. I'm smart, friendly, and full of life. If you love fun and laughter, you'll love me. Adopt me and let's make our own funny stories!May 16, 2024, 9:20 am

Story
Meet Cleo, a very affectionate little girl who is looking for a loving home. Cleo is 22 pounds and 2 years old. She enjoys cuddling, spending quality time with her people, playing tug-of-war with her toys, learning new tricks, and belly rubs. She is full of love and is a great companion! Her favorite time of the day is the morning because she gets so excited when she sees her people are up and ready to give her some attention.  Cleo’s preferred home will have a backyard, because this girl loves to do her zoomies and loves to chase squirrels. We have not seen her with children, but expect she will be okay with older, respectful children. She is a curious little dog, loves to play with her toys and sniff for kibble in her snuffle mat. She will need a consistent routine to continue with her housetraining. She utilizes a kennel for this and also does well in it while you are away or cannot be with her. One thing is for sure, wherever you go, you can count on looking down and seeing Cleo at your side. She is a loyal companion, always ready to accompany you and snuggle up next to you. Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. APPLY HERE: www.richardsonhumanesociety.org ##1954144##
