Story
If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to visit with this animal, please email us at info@animalhope.org or call 817‑984‑1129 between 12 pm and 6 pm.Carter is an approximately 10‑year‑old terrier mix weighing about 20 pounds. He came to us as a stray, and unfortunately no one came forward to reclaim him. Since arriving, he has been an extremely sweet guy with a calm, gentle presence.Carter does really well with other dogs, and he has been easy to handle and a favorite among staff. He’s the kind of dog who settles in quickly and appreciates companionship without demanding much. His adoption fee is flexible, as we want to ensure he finds the right home. Our veterinary team has examined him and cleared him as healthy and ready for adoption.Because we don’t observe our animals in home settings, we aren’t able to guarantee whether he is housebroken.Upon intake, every animal receives:Spay/neuter surgeryMicrochipAll age‑appropriate vaccinationsBlood and fecal testing (with treatment if needed)Flea, tick, and heartworm preventionA complimentary wellness exam 7–10 days after adoptionAdopters must be at least 21 years old and live within an hour of our facility. If you’d like to meet Carter, we’d be happy to help. He’s a loving, steady senior who’s ready for a soft place to land and a family to call his own. 🐾✨

Story
Beta is being fostered in NC Such a sweet laid back lady who is a joy to have around! ... enjoys being scratched and loved on, but not too much of a cuddler🤷‍♀️ or at least not with me…. Chewing on bone marrow is a favorite pastime, along with wandering around the yard if it is not hot out😂. She isn’t particularly attached to any specific bed, she kind of likes to bounce from one place to another…sort of like Goldie Locks😉. If she is needing to go out she starts wandering around, so regular bathroom outings are definitely suggested… she is wonderful on a leash, slowly enjoys sniffing everything while perking up at all the sounds around and responding with a few barks that are too adorable. As for eating, she is definitely spoiled, plain dry kibble is not going to do it. So we rotate different foods mixed into her kibble… she is quite fond of chicken broth and rice with frozen mixed veggies though so she gets that several times a week. Shredded boiled chicken and plain yogurt is another favorite… it has been a wonderful experience watching her come out of her shell, and I’m sure she has only begun that personality development… she would make anyone a fabulous companion, excellent with dogs of all sizes and cats are of zero interest to her, she just passes them by or lays with them. I can’t say enough of how much of a joy she is to have around. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

My journey to the shelter? Oh, it's a funny tale! I once chased a squirrel right into a fancy garden party, causing a hilarious dessert disaster. Imagine cakes and pies flying! Needless to say, I needed a new place to hang my leash after that. I'm playful, energetic, and super friendly. If you love laughter and have a stash of toys, I'm your guy.
